Hi everyone! I am looking for some help on how to fix my problem. Yesterday, suddenly videos on Firefox stopped having sound and in one particular website (public television) videos stopped working altogether. These are websites that I use on a daily basis and have been using for months. All of these websites and videos work fine on google Chrome. I am using a desktop and Windows 10 and use DuckDuckgo Privacy essentials. These are the things I have done to troubleshoot: -restarted computer _restarted Firefox in Safe Mode -checked the volume mixer -checked the App volume device preferences on Windows -signed off my firefox account and logged in without an account -refreshed Firefox -Uninstalled and installed Firefox
On my laptop (Windows 7) everything still works fine as usual.
Any tip or advice will be much appreciated. Please bare in mind that I have a very basic computer knowledge. many thanks Poppy

long story short, if I go on amazon.com it redirects me amazon.com.br without asking me, no pop-ups, no "amazon wants to know you location" it just looks at my IP and send me away, also, if I do something like amazon.co.uk it will prompt me for "would you like to be redirected to amazon.com.br?" and I don't want that either, if I could go to amazon.jp it's all the same for me
note: 1: I used amazon as an example, this happens with eBay, YouTube, Bing, reddit, facebook, PayPal, or any other website that is available on a .br domain 2: I don't want to use a VPN or any Proxy server, I'm not rich, I can't pay 129.99 a year for a browser extesion, and there are free ones, but they bring my 120Mb/s connection to a grinding halt 3: this is most likely my ISP / IP being broadcasting my location without my consent, while some websites do ask me to allow it, my IP most of the time will basically lay open on the table and tell the website "if you wanna look, it's there" 3.2: this is especially annoying with the advertisements saying stuff like "80% of gamers in [USER_CITY] love this RPG" and I'm like, really? a backwater christian town where only 20% of the population have TVs and 5% of those 20% have broadband connection?
in short, I don't want any websites to know where I am

When Facebook updated their system a few months ago, running it on firefox with windows 10 on a pc crashes mozilla. It happens if you are logged into FB for some length of time (say an hour). I have no extensions operating just plain firefox. I turned on task manager inside firefox to watch what happened over time along with windows task manager. Within a half hour, FB is using high energy impact and just about all available memory in the system and filled the cache as well. Eventually it just freezes firefox and I have to kill the program go back and clear the cache and often do a complete refresh of firefox

When I want to save a bookmark, I usually go through "choose". It seems to give me folders sometimes only open to the first level, sometimes to second and third levels. This behaviour seems random. I want to see only the top-level folders, it would make saving bookmarks quicker. How to achieve this?
I have attached an image of what I see now under "choose"

I have been trying to undo a hacking problem for quite a while. I am using Kaspersky Cloud Security, looking for unusual (hard to really say what that is) network and app activity and making apps ask before running or using the network. I saw an event reported by K that had a bunch of versions of various browsers, one of which was Safari that I never have used. I asked them but then realized that was just something that edge or K tacked on to identify somethnig else.
However, I did notice that Chrome was being used, apparently by edge, as my browser. My understanding is that chrome is used a lot by hackers for various things. I'd rather not use it. That's why I installed Firefox.
So I did a search of my pc for "chrome" and up came the thing in the title of this question: ChromExtMalware.store. I was fairly surpised that it would actually be called that. But I did find by searching the web that it's malware.
beyond that, several other things came up, chrome.nm-server-v2.manifest.json, same thng without the v2, plugins.chrome.manifest.
So apparently I not only use edge but chrome.
Can anyone tell me whether I simply do not understand how this is all structured and its all fairly safe, or, if it lookw like i'm right nd something is fishy, is there reason to imagine that Firefox will make it easier to control these things?
thanks for taking a moment to look this over. I really do need some guidance, so if you are willing but you need more info, please reply and request it.
Note: The image and issue, if the image uploads, is not on this PC. It is on my Microsoft Surface. This machine has problems as well, but I haven't not see that here - yet. So the shared configuration is for this pc.
please unlook website

I am part of a charity organisation which is using Google Drive to store records in the "cloud" and a means of multiple members accessing those files. A form has been created which needs a date to be entered. The form was created by another person with a drop down calendar or by entering the date using dd/mm/yyyy. When I open the form through Google Drive on my computer using Firefox (my browser of choice)the drop down calendar does not operate and the date is formatted MM/DD/YYYY. Through "Options" on the home page the language is set to English (Great Britain) and the date is said to be taken from my Windows settings. My Windows settings for the date formatting are correct at dd/mm/yyyy. If I change browsers to Chrome the form is accessible with its correct formatting. Your assistance would be appreciated

Good evening. I have run the Ookla speed test through Edge and my download is 212.94 Mbps and my upload is 11.76 Mbps and uses the Spectrum Syracuse Server. Running Spectrum speed test on Edge registers Spectrum Syracuse as the optimum server and download is 236.2 and upload 11.6. Both are using my Spectrum server in Syracuse, NY.
When I run Ookla through Firefox I got 227.17 down and 11.63 up. Spectrum's speed test through Firerefox's Syracuse server 231.8 up and 11.5 down.
However for a while earler this evening when I ran both programs on both browsers and both through Syracuse's servers I was getting downs of 0.0 to 0.7. I reset the modem and router and still had low speeds but shortly after I got the readings I wrote in the first two paragraphs.
What would be the reason for this? Anything particular with Firefox? Something I should look out for in the future? Partially a curiosity while the other part being proactive.
Thanks for anybody who can take time to answer.

Using Firefox 68.12.0ESR. I know 78 is available, I just haven't had the time to test it yet. I delete cookies when I exit Firefox. I want to keep some for sites that I trust, such as this site. I've added exceptions to Allow these trusted sites as documented on a thread somewhere else, but it doesn't work. All cookies are deleted.
Is it possible to keep cookies only for a select group of sites. eg. support.mozilla.com, tomshardware.com, mydigitallife.net, speedtest.net and so on.
Thank you.

Looking for any help or advice,
I only use 2 addons in firefox, they are Bitdefender Wallet and Adblock and since the last Firefox update I cannot get either working. I can install adblock, it will work until the browser is closed, next time I open the browser it will be disabled with no option to re enable it and no explanation as to why it was disabled. I have tried a few addons as a test and after the browser is closed all will be automatically disabled. With Bitdefender wallet trying to install the extension results in an error of the download is corrupt.
I have used Firefox for years with both of these options and no errors. To try and fix I have reinstalled both Firefox and Bitdefender but the issue remains the same.
Current Firefox build is at 84.0.2
Any advise would be brilliant as I really do not want to resort to Chrome (which is working perfectly).
Many thanks.
