I frequently have difficulty when I need to make plain-test copies of web pages. These are pages that only allow "Select All" to select parts of pages, so that important parts of the pages cannot be selected, or so that a large number of select-and-copy cycles are required to copy the information on a webpage. The Firefox extensions that I have tried like the old "right to click" do not seem to help much. With old versions of Windows, I would use print-to-file for a generic plain-text printer, but that does not provide a readable file on Win 10.

I frequently find these problems on web pages with survey questions. I use a MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.11 and the latest version of FireFox (72.0.2) and I'm unable to figure out how to bring up the Context menu. With previous versions of FireFox. I could hold down the Control key and click a tab and that would bring up the Context menu. But with the latest versions of FireFox, that option is no longer available.

I suppose if I bought a two-button mouse, I could bring up the Context menu with the right button, but you should be able to bring up the Context menu with the trackpad that come with Apple's MacBook Pro.

So how do you bring up the Context menu on an Apple MacBook Pro?

Mission is to select some of my google search results (links) in order to copy their urls using Firefox add-on Copy Selected links. It use to work that by pressing Ctrl I could select with mouse left button different links in search results but now it is selecting all previous links as well and I cannot have a control over the selections. I want only some of the links in google not all. Are you able to help me?

The one and only website that I want as my new tab is a bit laggy and takes a while to load, probably because of CloudFlare.

And I'd like to have a huge page to see all of my bookmarks in, to make it easier to organize my bookmarks. Instead of using the bookmarks sidebar or the Library window.

So I thought why not combine the two things that I want? Make my new tab open up to the Chrome bookmarks page, and then if I want that laggy website it can be one of the top bookmarks listed. Or if I want to organize and see my other bookmarks instead, I can just ignore that top bookmark and focus on the other bookmarks.

Well my New Tab URL won't let me and it is a Firefox restriction so he couldn't add the feature even if he wanted to.

But surely there is a trick or workaround that might not involve extensions?

If so, please let me know.

The extension was changing it to http://chrome://browser/content/places/bookmarksSidebar.xhtml which broke it.

Hi all, I believe I remember that this function once was implemented in firefox and I used it regularly. But now I can't find it anymore:

The search results of an internet search (let's say google search results) show up in firefox one after the other. When I move my hand to the mouse and Strg + click I can open selected search results in new tabs. From the keyboard I can only use Tab to navigate from element to element - but not from search result to search result as I want.

Is there a possibility to move quickly from search result to search result? To skip all the not interesting elements? To "tab" through all these links, the maps, the ads takes ages...

Would be great if someone knew the old function in firefox at least.

I have 7 or 8 sites I regularly use to purchase books. The problem is,I have to type every single one of them and then head to their search bars and type the same book title over and over again. Is there a way I can place all of them in a group and then have Firefox search only within those sites for the book titles?

Recently the web push notifications got a popup UI that is really disturbing. Show up on all desktops etc., it interrupts me in what I’m doing. I really very strongly dislike this change.

I would like to revert to how it was before (pre-76.0 ? Not sure exactly which version): - notifications get sent to my desktop/OS’s notification center (running OpenSuse + KDE), - no popup is displayed when a notification is triggered.

That way: - notifications will respect the OS « do not disturb » mode, - notifications get shown through a unified UI for all applications, - I can pick how « interrupting » I want each notification to be, - In particular I can focus while on my computer without being interrupted, and poll the notifications occasionally.

Is there a way (maybe a about:config option) to keep notifications but disable the popup behaviour?

I have never seen such a STUPID program!!! Where did your programmers learn programming? I would had been kicked out of work 50 years ago for such a program...?'

Hi, is it possible to restore two sessions back? After restarting the computer, I accidentally opened and closed a new session, and in the previous one I had many important tabs open. Is it possible to recover them?

I recently switched to firefox from chrome and am enjoying it for the most part, but have one thing that drives me crazy. When I click on a link for a file such as a YAML file, the only options I have are to open the file in another application or save the file to disk. Most of the time, this is not what I want. I really just need to take a quick look at the file to understand its contents.

Is there a way to set firefox to automatically display the file contents in-browser rather than requiring a separate application?

Hello, I want to download some content from Spotify (free) in Firefox. What maybe couldhelp is the fact that I could eliminate any commercial breaks, but I actually dont know how. Sometimes Spotify wants to start some adds but after a few seconds the audiobook or whatever keeps on running. Does Spotify in some way "respect" my adblocke (ublocker origin, noScript,Private badgerr?) The idea now is,van I also download Content from spotify with anyozillaa addon. So on Win 7 you can put into your search kind:=picture and it will show you every image file on your PC from png to bmp to jpg to gif.

Can I do the same thing in the firefox history search and find all image types in one go?

Is there someway I can type in a keyword in the history search like kind:=picture and just get ever image type?

In v76, I was able to stop the URL bar from enlarging by setting browser.urlbar.update1 to false in about:config. In v77, this enlarging URL bar behavior seems permanent. I find this behavior annoying and unnecessary for me. Actually, I think this is just plain dumb. The text does not enlarge, just the URL box. Is there a way that I may be able to disable this behavior, thank you.

I use mostly Chrome browser but it's such a resource, memory and storage hog I've been using FF more. However, while spell check technically works, it's simply terrible and frustrating to use. With Chrome, I hardly had to add words to my dictionary while with FF/TB many essential basic words are flagged.

I read some other posts where FF flags most words, that's not my gripe. The dictionary is pathetic. I can't even find any add-ons/extensions that provide a greater vocabulary.

Are there some tips and tricks besides adding words one can use here?
