Recently, whenever I open saved (or sometimes new web) documents in Firefox, a very large pop-up on the lower right side of my screen appears with a cartoon of a pencil scanning a document. Below the cartoon it states "Now you can highlight your PDFs! With our new highlighter tool, you can read and edit PDFs in one place." The pop-up blocks half the view of the document and cannot be minimized or closed. It also prevents accessing (it hides) the "print" option if I want to print/save the page. I have WINDOWS 11 and have looked online for solutions to this problem which always produces the same suggestion: "go to 'settings', click 'privacy & security', check 'block pop-ups', click 'OK'", all of which I've done. I now limit my use of Firefox to streaming videos via amazon, and use Chrome or Edge for anything else I need to do, but I assume Firefox would not be happy to know of the aggravation their browser is causing, forcing users to go elsewhere (or am I the only person having this problem). A msg box comes up that says go to setting to enable the ability to highligh pdf's. I went to settings and did not find. this box comes in the upper right hand corner. I am usually working in PAGES. jhelp if you can. Thank you.

In Firefox, recently I am unable to download pdf documents. I get the message "download failed". If I request the same download using Chrome, I get the download immediately. But Firefox is my default browser and it's a nuisance. This only started in the past month or so.

See the attached image. This showed up when viewing PDFs. The highlighter demo can not be removed or turned off. I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled, still there. Uninstalled Acrobat, the demo is still there.

I create and save files in OneDrive. When I open a file, it always opens in the Microsoft Edge Browser which is a problem for the old guy, me. I prefer that they open only in the documents folder as their specific kind of document; Word, PDF, and Excel spreadsheet files so that I can then move my files into various folders and sub-files. Hopefully, someone can figure out what I have said and help me. • I'm uncertain if the topic I chose accurately describes my question.

How do I get the PDF viewer to work again? For years I have used the setting "save" to automatically download. Now I am unable to view them without going in and changing the settings to "open in firefox". I would like to continue to use the save setting without having to constantly change this back and forth. When I click to open the file, all it does it grey out.

I use Xero accounting software and used to be able to view pdf within the software up until the recent update. Now it just sits with a spinning wheel. I've found that if I change the setting within Firefox to open the pdf within Firefox the issue is fixed in Xero. But then all pdf's open in Firefox instead of the usual Adobe. This breaks other workflows within my organisation as I need to email the pdf straight away when I download it, so my Windows was set with Adobe as the default for opening pdf's but now Firefox has taken that over. There does not appear to be any way to email the pdf from Firefox other than to save it and then find the file and email it from there which is very time consuming. I don't know what has changed in Firefox, but please can you fix it. I see I'm not the only person with this issue.

When I open a PDF in Firefox, a half-page notice opens, telling me I can highlight the PDF. This prevents me from doing absolutely everything. Cannot read the file, cannot print the file with the box in the way. How can I get rid of this box? Thanks for your time.

When viewing a PDF, I selected some text, right clicked and chose the "Highlight Selection". The selected text was not highlighted. Instead, the "highlight" button on the top right corner pop up and the freehand highlight was triggered, while all my previous selection was lost.

I image this was not the intention of the "highlight selection", and I was also wondering if there is a shortcut for highlighting text in pdf.

Hello: recently I decided to ditch expensive PDF Converter apps for my desktop pc as overspecified for my purposes. To date, I haven't found any guidance to use the Firefox Easy PDF Converter - usually required to convert Lotus Word Pro or MS Word text documents to pdf format. As a second request, can it be used to reverse convert e.g. pdf to docx etc. I have already added it to my Firefox app, but can't go any further. Thank you for helping. Geoff Pickerell (UK)

PDF files: settings is set to "Always ask" (see attached) However, when I click on a PDF link, and get the dialog "Open With" is grayed out, and the only option available is "Save File" (see attached screenshot). (A few weeks or months ago it all worked correctly.)

Is there a way to get "Open" working again?
