Saved passwords have disappeared
At least half of my saved passwords have disappeared after whatever change was made to how they are displayed. NOT HAPPY at all with all of the new changes.

They were all present a day or two ago and I noticed something was wrong when firefox stopped autofilling the login data. is there a way to check what's going on and what caused this? and also how to I get them back?

hello
since last week, my saved logins have disappared. I tried with a win10 system recovery (there were 2 timestamps available): both didn't work, linked to a problem with Firefox profile (but error message doesn't show up fully so hard to see what is wrong).
Via shadowexplorer, I was able to export the following files from previous system recovery backups: key3.db key4.db & logins.json .
If I copy these to a new (or existing profile), the logins.json file is renamed to logins.json.corrupt
I have seen that there was a similar problem with AVG-users, but I run Comodo internet security premium...
Any clues how to retrieve the logins??
thx in advance!
Hi, AVG user, passwords have dissapeared again. Followed the last fix process with the add-on, but not worked. Any ideas folks? Thanks Eden.

I never had a firefox account till now. So, I had to reset the pc where i had all my logins. I once had to export my passwords (exporting key4 and logins.json files) and it worked, so i didn't think to much about it. So i reset the pc without cheking if the passwords actually worked (yuh, my bad). The problem is that apparently mozilla doesn't recognize the files, or something, cause when i open "Logins and passwords" it's empty. I don't know what to do, please help me.

I have my login data on my phone, I stopped sync so that I don't lose that. How do I recover login data from connected (android) device? I could not find if I can retrieve login file from android device or not, I believe it is only accessible through the app.
I moved the login.json file to try export login details but now I cannot find the saved details anymore.

I am using sync with an android device which still has all the logins saved. Sync, however doesn't update my laptop to sync the devices. I really want these passwords back and could use some advice on hot to do that. I'm not sure why sync doesn't sync the two devices and yes I have synced both devices.

I checked the only other response that I see (about:preferences#security), which I cannot enter as a URL.
I lost all of my logins/passwords tonight, after reinstalling v 66.0.2. I created a couple of passwords, including here. They are NOT in my saved logins. That has never happened before.
I always save logins. And I always update my logins when I change them.
This is becoming tedious.
Thank you.

Something is deleting my passwords in FF. Mostly when my laptop is in sleep mode, or when in game mode without the firewall set to game mode. But as is, if I use the firewall to stop everything behind, there is still something that starts and deletes my passwords when it think I am not using the laptop... Is there something that will protect the passwords in FF? Anyone got an idea of what can be doing this?
I am not visiting bad websites, I surf carefully, Windows is always up to date, as is my firewall and antivirus program. I have not downloaded any programs. It all started after my update of the program System Mechanic was done. So now I am in a support war with them, but they say I am the only one with this problem... I'm getting an ulcer here... :-(
Any ideas out there on what can be the problem or having a solution?

Dear Firefox team,
I use Saved Logins and today after firing up my computer and Firefox, all my logins disappeared. I did not change my password so it should be business as usual. I resynced my laptop with my phone and still nothing appears in my desktop Firefox.
I have collected a lot of logins and should all be there, not sure what to do. I use Ubuntu 18.04 as an OS.
Thanks!

Hello,
last time I used FF has to be years ago (using Chrome atm). Since I needed a specific password that hasn't been stored in Chrome, I started FF. I saw that some updates where automatically downloaded and installed, couldn't use FF in the meantime. After everything was finished, I restarted FF, opened the pw manager and there was..nothing. All my pws were gone. I did use a master password.
When checking my profile folder (C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xa8859ne.default-1489772138976) there was no logins.json but logins.json.corrupt, with 198KB. When I opened this file using the notepad everything was blank.
I searched the web and tried different proposed solutions, like this one (https://support.mozilla.org/de/questions/1222750): >>>>>>>>>> Essentially this is it, although my login.json files had .corrupt on the end like login.json.corrupt ...
You can force Firefox to re-import your old passwords. Here's how: 1. In the location bar, type "about:config" (without the quotes) and press <Enter>. 2. Click [I'll be careful, I Promise!] 3. Search for the preference: signon.importedFromSqlite 4. Right click on signon.importedFromSqlite, and select "Reset". 5. Go to Help-->Troubleshooting_Information, then click on [Open Folder]. That will open Windows Explorer in your Firefox profile. 6. Close Firefox 7. In your profile folder, delete the file "logins.json".
The next time you start Firefox, it should re-import your passwords from your old passwords file. <<<<<<<<<<
Didn't work. I tried using a program called "Firefox Password Recovery" (https://www.top-password.com/blog/how-to-recover-firefox-saved-passwords-from-logins-json/) - didn't work.
I also tried opening the logins.json.corrupt file in Scratchpad & hit the "pretty print" button (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1085322); what I got is this: >>>>>>>>>> /* Exception: Error while performing task "pretty-print": Error: Unexpected character ' <<<<<<<<<<
I also tried renaming logins.json.corrupt to login.json - didn't work.
I used to have a key3.db and a key4.db file. After logging into a site using FF and saving the password the key3.db file was gone and a login.json file (containing said information) has been created.
Still, I can't extract the passwords stored in logins.json.corrupt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Regards
