My setup:

Firefox Version 116.0.2 (64-bit) Firefox for Manjaro Linux

Whenever a tab is playing sound, there's an icon on the taskbar icon that disables or re-enables audio in Firefox. Is there a way to deactivate/remove that button in the "about:config"-menu?

There are old website addresses stored somewhere in Firefox for sites that no longer exist, how can I edit / remove those from FireFox. Using FireFox for LinuxMint 116.0.3 64 bit

Note that copying PNGs in Firefox is initially disabled. Still, you can enable it by changing your preferences in the browser's configuration settings: just type "about:config" in the browser, search for "dom.events.asyncClipboard.clipboardItem," and switch it from false to true. Once enabled, you should be able to copy assets successfully.

One site is hosted onto multiple domain names. One of this names is blocked by my ISP. But some links and forms are coded with absolute URLs using this blocked name instead of relative URLs.

I tried to use "Redirector" addon, but it ignores POST requests.

Firefox code ought to be able to import data from an old Seamonkey or Firefox profile as well as data from other browsers such as Microsoft products. My Seamonkey profile isn't even old. I'm using the version compiled about a year ago because the two more recent ones crashed occasionally.

There presently doesn't seem to be any code in Firefox to import data. Supposedly there used to be. It's still needed or very desirable.

I don't have a question because it's pretty clearly not there. It's something for you to fix.

With a recent update of Firefox Developer Edition to version 117.0b9 i keep getting extremely annoying popups on all sites, asking me if I want to translate stuff.

I don't want to store unnecessary settings in my browser, related to exceptions to websites/languages that I want vs. does not want to translate.

I want to completely disable translations, globally. Forever. Two questions:

- Why there is no "disable translations globally" checkbox in the newly added popup? - Is there an about:config hack to do disable translations globally, for all languages, for all websites, and forever?

I've been considering switching to Firefox from Chromium for quite a while. However, there's one feature in Chromium that I can't do without: the task manager. In Chromium, I'm able to stop a tab's process, but the tab still remains open, displaying an error. Even if I refresh the tab, the tab's process restarts as if the tab was just refreshed, without any crashes. I'm aware that Firefox also has a task manager, but when I stop a tab's process using Firefox's task manager, the tab closes as well. Is there a method to forcefully stop a tab's process without having to close the entire tab? Perhaps there's an add-on that can help with this? I typically have a large number of tabs open — more than my PC can handle — so this feature is essential for me.

Hello, I'm a newbie currently struggling to get a Ruby on Rails project going on Firefox specifically, it loads and works fine on Brave. I am using an HP Envy Laptop with dualboot, Windows and Pop_OS! Everything is up to date, and when I try to access localhost:3000 I get "Gah. Your tab just crashed." everytime. It does seem to receive the HTML package just fine, it just refuses to load (it has loaded it for less than 1ms once, once I disabled Content Tracking randomly). Not sure what the issue could be, there's nothing on the Inspect's console or anywhere, but I did get this crash report from Firefox itself I think:

Any idea what could it be? It only happens in Firefox and I tried reinstalling it, no extensions installed at all, cleared cache and cookies...

I cannot use firefox. About the third or fourth tab or window I open hangs up, and then all of firefox hangs up. The triggering load can be from bookmarks or a new site. Have rebooted, re-opened: same problem. Have updated everything (including snap), same problem. Uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, same problem. Troubleshooting crashes and will not re-start

If I try to access https://bugs.cacert.org I get an error message: SSL_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERT_ALERT

If I access to the same site with chromium browser, there is no such error message, even more: I can access the certificate with the following information: valid until 2024 (see complete cert as picture).

Why this obviously wrong error message? How can it be circumvented (a warning might work, but a blockade?)?
