CCleaner automatic upgrade to "ccleaner 7" killed Firefox! No other changes to the SW or machine. This computer works great every day. Fully up to date with Microsoft. The "upgrade" that I did not ask for, lost my license and switched me to the "free version of CCleaner. I uninstalled it and started over from CCleaner website. Worked fine with old version. It upgraded itself again and now Firefox is dead. Microsoft Edge does open. I never use this. Thanks

After installing Firefox on a new Windows 11 computer, when I click on the Desktop icon, a Firefox window opens but it doesn't open previous Tabs and the Application menus does not work. I can open new Tabs though and it downloads websites. If I click on the Firefox icon on the Windows Taskbar, Firefox operates normally.

Why doesn't the Desktop icon start Firefox so it works correctly?

Hi, I just want to tell the support that new version, 144.0 on 9th October 2025, has some glitch on my HP Chromebook 11 G5 EE. It will auto close when I try to open the Mozilla browser. So, I have to uninstall 144.0 and install 143.0 version which does not have issue auto close on my chromebook. Please look into this. Thanks.

I have looked over this computer high and low for any profile files in every way recommended on this website. I can't find it, regardless of what I put into terminal or what settings I change. This was a problem before the update to tahoe too.

Please tell me how to resolve this issue. The 3 reports I have submitted from the crash window are:

ich habe probleme firefox zu starten wenn ich den browser öffnen will erscheint die meldung das firefox nicht geöffnet werden kann weil er noch geöffnet ist obwohl er aber geschlossen ist ich habe schon versucht den laptop neuzustarten und Firefox neu zu installieren es kam immer die selbe meldung der laptop verwendet Windows 7

Firefox 144 starts in Windows 11 for a second and dissappears. There are 10 new Firefox processes visible in the task manager. When I start a second time, an empty browser opens, although Firefox should display the last session. Only over chronicle and last opened windows I can restore the last session. I switched of every addon, but no change. I don't use a special theme. What can I do to work with Firefox like before?

Bonjour je veux ouvrir mon navigateur depuis mon Mac. Une zone de dialogue apparait : "Firefox tente d'installer un nouvel utilitaire saisissez le mot de passe pour autoriser cette opération" je tape le mot de passe la zone de dialogue disparait j'attend trois jours je tente à nouveau d'ouvrir le navigateur et la même zone de dialogue apparait C'est cela depuis quinze jours. uninstalled it and re-installed firefox (cleanly and with existing profile), like 5 times installed it through MS store made files in the mozilla appdata folder NOT read only checked for parental restriction status in config checked for -locked files on profiles

For the past few weeks, I have been intermittently but stubbornly getting the beachball of death when I open Firefox, coupled with Force Quit. Sometimes I force quit and then restart and it's fine. Sometimes I force quiet repeatedly and it continues not to open. Sometimes I restart my laptop and that fixes it, but sometimes not.

I do have a lot of tabs open, but i have always had a lot of tabs open. This thing is new.

What could have changed? What do I need to do, fix, trash, or curse?

Today Firefox on my laptop will not open. There is a message (?from Google?) saying it is because cookies are switched off. I have not knowingly made any changes to cookie settings or installed any new features. A new Windows update installed recently (I am on Windows 11) and also a new version of Edge (although I never use Edge myself). The Google guidanc eon how to fix the situation only deals with Chrome. So how, please, can I get Firefox working again?

Here is what the message says: "Firefox is trying to install a new helper tool. Enter your password to allow this" I tried to install but Firefox won't open. Firefox icon just bounces around, I have to force quit to stop it. I DO NOT WANT THIS TOOL BUT I WANT TO USE FIREFOX. By the way this is sent from my other user, as the problem is on my admin. user and I can't open Firefox to do anything!

Every time I boot Win 10 Pro, a half dozen Firefox pop-ups complain as indicated, as well as the wrong google page login (Voice instead of Calendar). There is no Firefox showing in the Windows>Task ManagerStartup> list. Firefox(143.0.4 (64b))> settings>General> Startup> has only [check for default]. I cannot find the controlling 'Startup' controls.

Today I logged in after the new update. (Oct 4th). Firefox was stuck in a loop for looking for updates. I went round and round, couldn't solve it, finally decided to reinstall. When I reinstalled it said I already had an installation and asked if I wanted to open the existing application and keep all my settings etc., or not. I tried opening the exiting application, but it kept looping back with the same question, not opening the existing application. I ultimately told it to start fresh, even though I knew I would lose all my configurations, addons, etc. I then spent quite a bit of time reconfiguring everything. I turned on synch and kept the synch key. I closed the application, reopened it, and it put me back to the original screen for installing afresh, asking if I want to open the existing application or start again and lose all my configurations and data. It wouldn't let me open the existing so I reinstalled and had to begin again. I don't know what to do.
