A search of Mozilla Help only throws up mentions in passing of Mozbackup by people who have used it. So what is it? And why doesn't it appear as part of installing Firefox, instead of me having to hunt for it  ?

I gather it may be be needed for Firefox and Thunderbird backups since proprietary backup programs somehow fail to deal with them successfully. Is this really the case ? And how would it work combining  two different back-ups ? (scratches tiny head)

I recently upgraded to Firefox 24.0. I use Windows 7

It used to be that any time I clicked on a link to download anything, I would be given the chance to choose where I wanted to save whatever I was downloading. The item would also be saved in the download file or directory.

But now, when I click a link to download anything, it just automatically saves to the download directory without giving me the chance to save it somewhere else. So if I want the file somewhere else, I have to open the download directory and move it where to where I want it.

How do I set Firefox so it is like it was before, so that it gives me a choice of where I want to save a download before it starts downloading it? Thanks.

When I try to play a YouTube video, It says an error has occured. I did look at help articles for help on this, but it required downloading something, and I don't have enough disk space. Is there something else I can do?

I don't know how to add a new website to the New Tab page in FF. All I have are a bunch of blank windows. The FF instructions page tells me to hit a Pin-icon in the top-left corner of a site to pin it to the New Tab window, except I don't see any pin. Any suggestions?

Where is the setting in the FireFox browser for speaker volumn? In the last 2 days, I have not audio while on the internet. Something changed some of my settings and I don't know where to change them back. Thanks!

And when you right click on a link, the only options are "open link in new tab" or "open link in new window". I want to open the link in the same tab, I don't need 16 tabs opened at the same time.

Hello, 1) when I download a file, Mozilla reports that it is in the Library. Where can I find the Library, please. 2) how can I remove the passwords and usernames that automatically appears when I start a program? (IE when i start to open my emails) Thank you. Kind regards.

I have done everything your web site says to do to uninstall Firefox. Nothing works. Windows message says no Mozilla Firefox uninstall program on my computer. Do I need a special download from you to uninstall?

The support topic on this question says to look for a "pin" icon in the upper left corner of the browser. I do not show one. Firefox used to just automatically populate my new tabs page with the thumbnails, but it is no longer doing that, and I don't know how to fix it. I downloaded some freeware that changed a number of browsing options (default browser, added Bing bar without my full knowledge, etc.). Got that all removed but then Firefox wasn't working well, so I had to uninstall/reinstall the program. Now my thumbnails are gone and I can neither get them back nor create new ones. Help! I have been an ardent Firefox user ever since Firefox began, having created innumerable Firefox users through the effusive enthusiasm in which I have promoted Firefox to others. But the manner in which Firefox has been demonstrating its total disdain for its loyal cadre of users like myself has me infuriated to no end, to the point of dumping Firefox altogether out of sheer frustration, anger with Firefox's absolute disregard to the requests of its users, who have pleaded to have a mechanism in which the all-too frequent updates wreaks havoc with our lives, livelihood.

The worst aspect of Firefox's dictatorial approach is the manner in which truth is the first casualty in having a process to disable the update process which is very much akin to the manner in which Foie gras is produced. I have been given all sorts of advice, guidance on how to disable the update process none of which have done a wit to fulfill my request of the specific needs of a browser that serves my interest and purpose, one in which is very much entwined with the work I do online as what I do for a living.

The insults Firefox perpetuates against users like me in providing phony approaches that in the end turn out to be just another dead end is nothing short of nefarious. My attempt for the umpteenth time in trying to put a stop to these updates is a terrible business practice, doing the worst sort of harm, to those who have been most loyal to the Firefox cause.

Just today, despite applying every sort of suggestion to stop these infernal updates, Firefox has once again found a new way to bring me closer to becoming forever alienated.

This morning I noticed browsers all on five computers updated when I specifically had in place every contingency for disabling these updates and so once again, I deleted every last remnant of Firefox off of my computer and started anew with a browser from Old Apps.com after going through my checklist of steps to insure the updates will never cross my path again.

But despite doing everything to stop it, checking never to be updated, having extensions applied manually and a host of other faux approaches to disable the updates, I nearly lost it when noticing that all computers were displaying the latest updates.

After today's latest debacle with the game you play with us users, it came to me like a ton of bricks falling loose right on top of me, how on a smaller scale,you, your tactics, your total obliviousness to the requests needs of our users, reminded me of Microsoft in its heyday.

That's a very sad,tragic legacy to be reminiscent of.

Recently, the "save as" dialog box quit appearing when I attempt to download email attachments. I have the "always ask me where to save files" box checked in the tools/options/general/downloads area. The box still appears when I use Chrome, but not when I use Firefox.

Ok, so I have lost out on some downloads, that were rather large, because I closed firefox.

When I used to close firefox, my download would still keep going. The firefox icon at the bottom of the screen on the taskbar, would show a translucent green download indicator. I could even click on it to check the progress with more detail.

Why on earth would this be changed, to totally cancel downloads when shutting firefox? Is there a way to stop this? I want the behavior of.. Close firefox, download is still going.
