I am having problems opening a pdf file in Firefox. I have Firefox v4.0.1. When i attempt to open the file it gives a blank page. I can open the file successfully in Internet Explorer 8. I am using Windows XP Professional. I have had problems with Adobe Plugins in Firefox in the past so i use Foxit Reader to open PDFs. I can open the pdf file successfully in Foxit Reader. I have the Foxit Reader Plug-In for Mozilla 1.0.1.1117 enabled.

Firefox has arbitrarily disabled IDMcc even though I have been using it multiple times a day for months with no problems. I wish to reinstall IDM and use it. If I can't I will stop using Firefox and go back to IE. I would prefer to stay with Firefox but I will not use a browser that won't let me use IDM which was working just fine.

Whenever I launch Firefox 4, two Firefox icons appear in my dock. Why does this happen and how can I have just one icon launch? I'm using a Mac.

I've been a FireFox user since the original Mozilla 0.9something beta, and I have been happy with it.

Until now.

FireFox 4, it seems, was rushed and released long before it was ready. It locks up. Frequently. In all sorts of different circumstances (downloading, browsing, watching video streaming, restoring after a crash, attempting to clear the download list, etc..). More often than not, I have to close it using the Windows Task Manager. It eats memory. Seriously, do you really expect a browser to consume up to and over 1 GB of memory and people to keep using it? The little add-ons are nice, but with the core functions so flawed, they are of little use.

If you google "i hate firefox 4" you get over 16,900,000 results! That's a public relations nightmare for any company! Do the devs here realize or even care about the damage being done now to their reputation? With extreme dissatisfaction numbers like that, they're going to be bleeding market share, if they haven't already! Even as I was typing this, with the Ask a New Question page the only thing I have open, FireFox locked up for a few moments.

After over a decade of using and support FireFox and it's ancestors, I'm going to be giving IE 9 a try.

Is anyone else having trouble with the back and forward buttons not working in FireFox 4? I installed 4 on an XP desktop and a Vista 64 laptop, and the forward and back buttons don't work on either installation. Does anyone know a fix for this? I tried deleting the "places" files in the profile and that does not help.

Ever since I upgraded my Windows 7 desktop to Firefox 5 it has been a nightmare! It hangs, freezes, is unresponsive more often than working. I have to us my laptop, still on FF4, to post this or risk being totally grey before I could finish posting. I see by the comments that I am not alone in having this problem, but do not see any offered solution. Do I have to revert to FF4 to use my desktop or is a solution forthcoming?

After doing a search, I will click on suggested websites. It will start to load, then will redirect me to another site that generally has nothing to do with the original search.

Adobe Flash 10.1 won't load media when using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.6. There are no errors. Both IE and Opera operate well with Flash 10.1. I contacted Mozilla chat support, but to no avail (person disconnected session after I mentioned that Flash 10.1 works well with my other browsers). Also, I've noticed Mozilla and Adobe have had similar problems after each upgrade of either Firefox or Flash (the internet has a long track record of user complaints going back to 2007 and later).

The key point is Mozilla bears the effects of the problems because users transition to other browsers (e.g., I now have configured my Opera browser as my primary browser, IE is second, and Firefox is on hold until Mozilla resolves Flash 10.1 compatibility issues).

In past two weeks, when Firefox no longer recognized an older version of Adobe Flash and requested I upgrade to 10.1.

Every time i try to go into a game in facebook it comes up that my Adobe Flash player plug in has crashed, i have updated everything i possibly can. this only started last night and i have had no trouble with it in the past. please help i love my games

Firefox 3.6.4 updated and I lost video download to Real Player. I updated real player to SP 1.1.4 and still no download. (Works fine in IE) Then Firefox updated to 3.6.6 and still does not work

I updated Firefox and now Realplayer can't download any videos( download button in upper right corner of video don't pop up and there is no download option if I right click) if I use Internet explorer it works fine, I also went in to make sure I had it checked to pop up it is?! So it's not just youtube for me its all videos!

I had the cycbot trojan and have removed it. However my browser will not connect to the Internet unless I manually select no proxy in the connection settings. then on restart of firefox the settings change back to a manual proxy.

Real Player Video Player no longer provides option to download after my Firefox / Adobe Flash Player updated. How can this be fixed?

My Firefox often freezes when I'm trying to open a site in one tab or several. The freezing lasts for a couple of seconds but its really frustrating.

The version is the latest stable (3.6.13) I've tried re-installing the browser, but the broblem persists.
