What use to work in "about:config" to auto add prefix (www.) and suffix (.com) doesn't work in Firefox Quantum. Looking for what works. The "browser.fixup.alternate.prefix and suffix" are set to default, string, (www. and .com) Not sure if default is to apply or not apply. thanks

71's new picture-in-picture feature could be useful, but I can't find any way to control which monitor the video is played on. It seems to always open on Windows' 1st monitor, which for me is almost always turned off. Of course Windows in it's infinite wisdom will not let you choose which monitor is number 1. This basically makes the feature useless. :( So, is there some setting somewhere in the about:config where I can control which monitor is default? I can't find an obvious one, at least. EDIT: I was wrong. It doesn't always open the video on the 1st monitor. It just always opens the video on the monitor to the left of the one the browser is on. :D

I just started using my new Windows 10 computer, I installed the same add-on I had on the Mac, but it doesn't work on the new computer. Can anyone help? NPAPI flash plugin not loading

Today I noticed that my custom plugins are no longer working. I decided to try and re-install flash. I removed the plugins from the directory manually then started again. I downloaded the NPAPI version from adobe (pictured). I then extracted the files and copied the plugin (libflashplayer.so) to firefox's plugin path ($MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH, which for me was /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins). I then restarted firefox. However, the shockwave flash plugin is not present in the plugins tab. This is odd as it was a couple of days ago before I redid this. Sites like newgrounds worked perfectly. Back when flash was working, I noticed on some sites that used html5, it would instead try to use flash. For a whille, the openh264 was stuck on "will be installed shortly." Now when I go to those sites, it will show the thumbnail, but not play. Youtube videos still work, however. In fact, it's really the only video site that still works. Was there a dramatic change in the past couple of days or something? I didn't even update firefox myself, this happened seemingly out of nowhere. When viewing native Apple Photos app, I can control the size. But when Photos is called through FF to add a pix, I can't tell a thing.

About once a week, my default browser search changes itself to Yahoo and I have to go into Preferences and manually change it back to Duck Duck Go. I have tried all the suggestions in the other answers to this question. I do not have any Yahoo extensions or anything suspicious. I have searched my entire computer for "Yahoo" and find nothing. I do not have a folder for Firefox, or any preferences file, only the application itself. I am on a Mac so Windows answers don't help me.

I'm currently on a public desktop computer , and I enabled Firefox Sync, which did a good job for passwords, bookmarks, etc, but it didn't sync any of my container info for the Multi-Account Containers add-on. I see the default containers: Personal, Work, Bank, Shopping. On my personal laptop, I have about a dozen containers. What's wrong?

Every time I start Firefox, I upgrade to the latest version and securely wipe the profile directory to start over with a clean (empty) profile.
However, I do not want to see any update notifications while it is running. That interferes with my work (capturing images and video of the screen.
PLEASE tell me how to turn these notificatios off (and make it easier for others who want to do the same thing).

Well seems Firefox has been messing this up again.
Anyone have the new work around solution to get my tabs back on the bottom again. They were fine this morning then shut down and went out to lunch and when I came back they were back on the top again after months of being where I wanted them below my bookmark bar.
Thoughts on this?
