I need to disable this horrible translator that is now showing up on top of every page I visit, It keeps showing up even after choosing a translation or disabling translations for that language. That is probably a bug, but I don't want to wait for a fix, I need to be able to see the pages I visit completely, this thing prevents me from clicking buttons and and is really anoying.

This is the built-in translation feature since I do not use any translation plugins, and started showing up after an upgrade.

This question was already posted and badly answered in 2016. Now things have changed a lot and Firefox DO try to translate everything which is quite annoying to anyone knowing more than a single language. No extensions related. I need to completely disable that. My firefox is up to date: 118.0.1 (64-bit).

How do I turn off web translation permanently for ALL pages in Firefox 118.0.1?? It´s the most annoying feature so far from Firefox. Even if I delete all languages in preferences, it shows up on every page I visit.

There are already a number of questions related to how to get rid of the stupid pop-up window asking to translate the web pages. I am fluent in 4 languages, I use them all on daily basis and for obvious reasons I cannot keep shifting any system preferences or anything else while switching between languages.

I tried copy the "about:config" which is supposed to prevent the automatic translation from being suggested. It doesn't work - the pop-up still comes. I have even rebooted the computer after. still the pop-up comes for random web pages.

Please for the next release of this otherwise magnificient (non-microsoft) browser fix this irritating feature.

it is not Firefox business to judge whether I understand the language on the pages or not. I want to be able to prevent all attempts at "user friendliness" from the browser.

Please advice when fixed.

Hello all. I'd like to restore the backspace button function but the previously workable solution — resetting browser. backspace_action to 0 — is not working for me. Any hints as to why that might be the case?

I have 1 password add-on installed along with other add-ons and extensions. They are not showing up next to the address bar as they used to. Nor can I access 1 password to open it and open my logons. I've been trying for over an hour to open it but can not.

I can't get media keys to stop popping up, even though I've changed the media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled flag to false in about:config.

What do I need to do to turn this off? If I'm using a physical key on my keyboard to change the track, why would I need media controls to popup onscreen and stay in the way for several seconds?

As I said: fresh install of FF 119, only Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin icons are showing on the taskbar. I tried TyDraniu tip "Click the jigsaw puzzle icon, then right-click on an extension, then select Pin to toolbar" but with the right click there is no such option as "Pin to toolbar".

When I open a new browser and start to type www in the URL firefox auto suggests youtube.com instead of google.com. This is something that has just started with the new update. My previous version auto suggested google.com when I typed www into the URL. How do I get that back? I don't want to turn off the suggestion feature I just want it to default to google.

I know this may not interest you, but it really bothers me that I can't share the page with sound. Please help me if possible or add such an option. For now, unfortunately, I have to use other browsers that have these functions. Regards

I've downloaded and installed and updated Firefox on a new windows 11 PC - and I have a perfectly working installation on my (old) windows 10 Machine, so I'm well used to the browser! I've downloaded, installed and enabled three core, up-to-date addons: IDM, Adaware and Internet downlad helper: however NONE of them show on the toolbar and none of them function. And I've tried (I hope) all internet-search-suggested remedies such as reset Firefox etc. ad nauseam. All without success....

Any extensions I install suddenly don't show up in my toolbar or the customization menu anymore, so I also can't drag them there manually.

Deleting the extensions and re-installing them didn't work, neither did deleting the extensions folder itself.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've attached a screenshot of the customization menu and extensions menu below.

Hi, i have problem with uninstalling uBlock Origin i cant remove them from extension tab. I tried refreshing firefox, reinstalling, opening firefox with troubleshoot mode and still nothing i dont know why is so difficult.Even when i reinstalling firefox this addon onstalling by itself even when im not logged in.Please help me. Recently, firefox added an annoying feature that throws unwanted popups into my face: Website translation.

I want it gone. I can't seem to find any switch to get rid of that garbage in the preferences. I'm not scared of about:config but the best I could find was a list of languages to never translate.

How do I globally and eternally disable website translations?

After the recent update the colors of the drop down menus has changed. File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools and Help. Prior to this it was white background with black writing. Now it is black background with white writing. I am using Abstract Electric theme which is a dark theme but prior to this I was able to have the white background and black text. Can't figure out how to change it, I am sure it is something simple but for the life of me can't alter it. I don't want any colors to change except the colors of the drop down menus. Please help.
