I too have been having persistent, on going, problems with FP crashing or just stop working. I've done everything everybody has suggested with the exception of disabling the protected mode. What is strange, perhaps not strange, is that when FP crashes if I reinstall FP everything works until I shut down the computer and restart and then it crashes again. Also, in YouTube, if FP is working all the videos will default to FP and not HTML, even though, HTML is enabled and working. If I disable FP, then all the videos play in HTML. As of right now I've disabled FP and use Chrome to view FP required displays. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

Both Firefox and Zotero standalone crash immediately after opening. (I recently upgraded to Yosemite OS and upgraded to a new iMac desktop. However, the crashing did not immediately begin after OS upgrade and appears to be affecting the old computer as well.) I've tried the following: uninstalling Zotero and Firefox (including deleting Application Support files, including files in MS Word) and reinstalling. I've tried uninstalling one and only installing the other (e.g., uninstall Zotero and reinstall only Firefox, or the reverse), but nothing seems to work. When I open Firefox in under a different user account, it appears to work fine, which would seem to indicate the problem is hidden in some preferences file or other plugin that I don't know about. Help?

have tried all the fixes this system could throw at me, honestly had tried 98% of them myself already, more then once. anyways my issue is this sites like CNN.com, IGN.com, mozilla.org (and some but not all related sites) will either hang and load very slowly or not at all. This issue just started out of the blue a couple days ago. i did not load any new software or patch anything as far as i know (can't speak for auto-updates) I do not have this issue in IE at all. Things i have tried to fix the situation:
1. Ran malware-bytes, spy-bot, norton anti-virus (also disabled all them to ensure no cofilicts there either)to find mal-ware or virus....nothing found
2. uninstalled firefirefox also deleted firefox folders in C:/users/(username)/appdata/local and roaming as well as from my C:/program files (x86)..I then reinstalled Firefox
3. Disabled hardware accleration and also tried it on.
4. Ran in safe mode
5. ran CCleaner
6. changed my firefox profile
7. reset firefox
8. did a system restore
9. did a registry fix check and repair
I might be forgetting a few but as i said i read ever bit this trouble shooting program threw at me and tried it. I am totally at a loss as i can usualy clear things like this up myself. I would really like to get this working and short of the very unappealing, possibly ineffectual re-installing windows, i am out of ideas.

I'm using firefox on a new PC on which the software is all up-to-date. Crashes seem to happen randomly and I've re-set firefox and tried deleting parent.lock (which seems to help for a while). I'm running in safe mode at present and no crashes for the time being. As a long term user, I really don't want to abandon Firefox - so, grateful for any help!

Attempting to open firefox would result in an instant crash with the mozilla crash reporter opening right after I click to *open* firefox which is not new as reported here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/960905). I uninstall firefox, and then I try to reinstall firefox but cannot. My PC is unable to open any google website, and any mozilla site. Using iexplorer I can search on bing, find firefox but cannot open the webpage with every other page working fine. Same results on opera browser which was not blocked. Cannot open gmail or any google related site. Finding a firefox install from an alternate site (http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/11220080/Firefox_33.0) like on TPB would result in a perfect download although I would be unable to install my newly acquired firefox.
I ran malwarebytes full scan, adwcleaner, trendmicro full scan, MBAR and micrsoft security essentials, nothing came up. Settled with combofix which found and got rid of whatever was doing this, believed to hijackware from this thread (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/internet-explorer-wont-open-googlecom-or-any/df88416c-b9fc-40c7-ac11-a672d49fb9ba) except this applied to mozilla as well for an unknown reason. I'll post the combofix log if anyone requests.

Firefox crashes when I click on 'options', either from the 'tools' heading on the menu bar or from the 'open menu' button on the address bar. This occurs even when Firefox is in safe mode. It also crashes when I attempt to attach a file to an email using the web based yahoo email from AT&T. Updating to the latest version of Firefox did not help. Uninstalling Firefox and re-installing the latest version did not help. Uninstalling Firefox and deleting the leftover files and folders after the uninstall the problem persists. (even the hidden C:\Documents and Settings\Glines\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla folder and the 'old Firefox data' folder) I have disabled all my installed add-ons and again the trouble persists.
Thank you for your time .

my mozilla crashes even while on safe, I did disabled the add ons, I did re installed, I tried to find it this happened after some download, and run a malware software through several times. The first time I tried with safe, it lasted longer, I noticed a couple of times, that when I tried a new page I would not get the home page (which I listed as Google ) but got yahoo, so went looking for some strange software in the control panel, I did remove several that I barely used, but did not find anthing suspicious. I know there is another post about this, but the user didn't give too much information, and the "solution" does nothing to help.
I had bunch of tabs open, which I normally do on Firefox without issue, and Firefox automatically updated itself. Shortly after, Firefox crashed while I was trying to access another web page.
Since then, it will constantly crash. If I restart and restore all my tabs, it will normally crash as soon as I try to use a new tab or type in my old ones. If I leave it alone for a while it seems to work for a matter of minutes before crashing again.
I even reset Firefox, but that did nothing for me. It just seems like it wants to crash no matter what I try.
I had just put Firefox as my default web browser (as I had it this way before, but switched to Chrome when too many problems were occurring from a previous update). I had to go right back to Chrome. While I like to keep all my browsers updated, this is simply ridiculous. I have never crashed so many times from doing what a browser is meant to do.
Anyway I can downgrade back to just version 33.0.0 until another version comes out?

I stopped using Firefox a few years ago because it had too many bugs compared to some other browsers. I decided to try it again but I may go back to using other browsers. Besides the issue of video not staying full screen on my second second monitor, Firefox crashes a lot. I have wasted a lot of time trying the posted solutions in firefox support and looking on the net for a solution. Nothing works. It amazes me that Firefox still has this issue when other browsers don't.

I was trying out a full version of Avast Internet Security and at the end of the trial time, it began unloading the full version of the software. While it was in the process, it came to a point in which it asked to reboot the computer. I clicked yes. At this time, Firefox was in mid bootup and Firefox Browser has crashed every time since this event.
I have deleted Firefox several times and reloaded it and it still crashes. I did a virus scan and found not problems.
