I'm trying to log into my gmail account, but every time I try, I am sent to the clear cache and cookies page. I have cleared my cache many times and still am unable to access my email on my computer through firefox. Can I get help with this? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have some issues with Firefox keeping my logged in my Google account. When I close Firefox it logs me out of Google. I have tried some methods from other threads on this site but still without success. I have the setting for delete cookies on Firefox close to off and have tried Firefox remember history and use custom settings. Thank you for reading this.

Unlike before, many sites that I visit regularly, I am now having to log in every time I visit, including support.mozilla.org.

Did I unknowingly change something, some setting? or perhaps it's due to an addon?

I prefer all my login accounts to log out when I close Firefox. All of my settings are set up to do so, nothing changed, yet suddenly for the last week or so, it has simply stopped logging me out. Every day when I log in, there everything is again. I keep rechecking all my settings, even turning them back off and on, and nothing is fixing this. What's going on?

I asked this same question in Reddit and got a reply to uncheck "delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed", close all Firefox windows, and reopen them, and this did not correct the problem. Please advise.

I've recently sync'd my PC bookmarks etc to my android tablet and since then web sites that previously remembered me now keeping asking me to log in. BBC news, FaceBook are examples.

I am having the same problem as this fixed one, a year later: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1468647 As soon as I try to connect to an account via Google, or go to Gmail/Docs/Drive/Classroom, I'm always taken to a “Clear cache and delete cookies” page. So I followed the instructions on the page, deleted all my data and saved cookies from Firefox and even tried to reinstall Firefox completely, but nothing changed, I'm always redirected to this page. Logging in when in incognito mode works fine though.

Unsure if this is correct category... Years ago when Firefox was in it's infancy - Firefox settings used to allow much more power/control over cookies & how you deleted them. You could actually display & select individually ones you wanted to delete. Now Firefox has it's own Interface 'utility' and only allows you to delete 'groups' of cookies based on their App name. I was looking for the location / name of the dataset which is used to store cookies - so I could delete them more finely. Or is this in some sort of special format which is ONLY accessible thru Settings. I see MANY Cookie add-ons, mostly dealing with auto-responding to cookie prompts. Actually as of this writing - I am trying one of these.

One of the recent updates changed Firefox's behaviour. It now remembers my login status to various sites when I close the browser. For example, if I was logged in to facebook when I closed the browser, I will be logged in when I open the browser and navigate to facebook.com. This was not the case until very recently (a few weeks at most). Is there a way to change this?

I have strict privacy settings, and Firefox should delete all cookies when it is closed. There are no 'exceptions'. I have 'always use private mode' checked for history. Also: I haven't changed any settings recently - something changed in Firefox.

I only cleared the cookie for Blogger and cleared my cache. I was logged out of Facebook, Grok, ChatGPT, Linked in and X and possibly more websites I haven't visited yet. I wasn't logged out of Google I don't think. I don't use Google for logging in anywhere and cookies aren't cleared when I close my browser.
