I have set E:\ as my default download location. However in some cases Firefox does not respect my choice and silently downloads stuff to C:\Users\Name\Downloads. I really hate this. One example, a pdf downloaded from here https://scribd.vpdfs.com/. Please fix it. Thx.

After the latest Firefox Desktop updates (not sure which one exactly, since I didn't notice the issue immediately), I've started experiencing a problem with copy-pasting text — specifically with line break formatting on Windows 10.

Instead of copying line breaks using the Windows-style carriage return + line feed (\r\n), Firefox now copies only line feeds (\n). As a result, the text appears as a single long line when pasted into native Windows applications — which breaks the expected formatting. This behavior mainly affects:

• Text editable fields (e.g., contenteditable or textarea) in modern web applications.
• Code blocks or snippets (such as in Markdown or monospace) copied using "Copy" buttons (e.g., in ChatGPT or GitHub).

At first, I noticed this only when copying code from ChatGPT using the code-snippet copy button. But now it happens in almost all editable text areas — if I enter text with line breaks manually, and then copy it, those breaks do not appear properly in native Windows apps. For example:

• In Google Sheets, I often edit text with line breaks in a cell, but when I copy it back, it's all flattened into one line.

Right now, I have to fix this using scripts that replace \n with \r\n, but that's a very inconvenient workaround.

❗My main question is: What changed in Firefox that caused this behavior? This used to be reliable and feels like a regression. It’s a very basic feature and critically important for my daily workflow!

1. Can this be fixed in a future Firefox update? Will it be addressed?
2. Is there a way to fix or configure this behavior right now via browser(settings, configs)?
3. Is there an extension or workaround that can restore the \r\n format without manual scripting?

Hello Firefox You are very good I use Firefox since a long time I wish that Firefox create an addon to enable us to colour every tab in a session where that colour of the tab can be saved for this single tab and we can change the colour of the tab according to our browsing meanings, because we tend to give the colours meanings so that we categorise the coloured tab in its place without changing the ordinary and usual user interface, that will make browsing more funny and productive, that's it

I added the bing for the background on my computer; now I have somehow made it the browser when I open firefox and I want to remove it even if it means not having the backgrounds. I WANT FIREFOX AND NOT BING

I no longer see search suggestions when I start typing in the search bar. I still have "show search suggestions" checked in Settings, Search.

I should also ask: I don't remember how I enabled the old search bar, to the right of the address bar, mostly because I'm used to it. I don't see a box for it in Settings. What if I wanted to remove it? What if I then wanted it back?

Well, ok, one more. Also in Settings, Search, I see a drop-down list from which to choose my search engine, but no space to add a new one. Where's that? I've seen instructions to navigate to another search engine, but that can't be the way to do it. I normally wouldn't navigate to a search engine's page before searching.

Firefox is not working with Shopify. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps and I do see:

Search for "Shopify" to delete only Shopify-related data, or use Clear Data to remove all cached data, which can resolve display issues in Admin. 3. Run Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode (Enhanced Safe Mode) Firefox 2024 includes a robust Troubleshoot Mode that disables extensions, custom settings, and themes, giving a clean environment. Go to Menu (≡) > Help > Troubleshoot Mode. Choose Restart in Troubleshoot Mode, then Open when prompted. If Shopify Admin works in this mode, an extension or setting is likely causing the issue. 4. Check for Incompatible Extensions and Privacy Add-ons Go to Menu (≡) > Add-ons and Themes > Extensions. Disable extensions, especially ad blockers, VPNs, and script blockers, which may conflict with Shopify's dynamic elements. Reload Shopify Admin after disabling each extension to pinpoint any issues. 5. Disable Enhanced Tracking Protection for Shopify Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection may block essential cookies and scripts used by Shopify. Open Shopify Admin, click the shield icon next to the address bar, and select Turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection for This Site. 6. Disable Hardware Acceleration Some display issues stem from hardware acceleration conflicts. Go to Menu (≡) > Settings > General > Performance. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available and restart Firefox. 7. Use Firefox’s DevTools to Diagnose Errors Open Menu (≡) > Web Developer > Web Console or press Ctrl + Shift + K. Reload Shopify Admin to see if any errors or blocked elements are logged, which can provide insight into potential conflicts or missing resources. 8. Verify Network Security and Check Proxy/VPN Settings If your network includes a firewall or proxy, ensure that it allows secure access to all Shopify domains. Disable VPNs temporarily to check if they’re impacting Shopify Admin performance.

I'm using linux mint up to date 68.0.52, Firefox version 134.0.2 (64 bits) often when I open a local file, having the Panel process browse consola open, I get the the error: TypeError: this.toolbarButtons is undefined toolbox.js:4265:5 So I'm unable to see the web developer toolbar and just see a blank section on the lower part of my screen.
