This morning, I was unable to log into Discord to watch a livestream because my hard drive was overfull and it was unable to install a mandatory update. Because this was a time sensitive issue, I wiped a bunch of crap off my drive as fast as I could, and I guess somehow I deleted my browser bookmarks because the field now shows as empty when I open Firefox. I was able to track down the backup file, but it throws an error when I tell it to restore. Is there anything I can do about this?

Is it possible to import bookmarks for a different Mozilla account. Apparently I have 2 different Mozilla accounts. I had been using (I'll call it account #1) for quite a while, and recently subscribed to Mozilla VPN service. When I subscribed i gave it login info for "Account #2". How can I keep the logon info for the VPN, and get my bookmarks imported from the old (routinely used account #1) ? Or, can I change the VPN service to the old account (account #1)? I know how to add another device to the VPN account, but the "accounts" are on the same "device".

i am setting up a new laptop and trying to import all my current data from my old pc. Nothing is right. It imported alll the shortcuts on my toolbar from years ago. None of these are the current bookmarks from my old pc. ive tried syncing, importing again, nothing works. my bookmarks on my side bar are years old. I dont have ANY of these on my old pc as i deleted them years ago. what the heck is happening and how do i get my new pc browser to look exactly as my old pc looks. This is very frustrating. I have over 500 bookmarks on my sidebar. it looks like every bookmark i have EVER used. This is ridiculous.

Hi, so on my office pc I work with firefox. I made an account specifically to store every bookmarks etc on that account so when my company updates something I'll always have my bookmarks. Unfortunately somehow since yesterday they all disapeared, and no I'm unable to recover them with the different methods that are foreseen on your website. please advise kr daniel

I Cannot restore 3/1 or 2/29 Bookmarks!!! What's going on with Firefox??? Now, all there is in my Bookmarks are five listings saying, " BS2trash folder for undo of bookmark deletes- DO NOT REMOVE ..."

I wouldn't have to do this except that somehow, a Bookmark folder disappeared. All too often is has occurred. I have many, many very important Bookmarks. How can I get them back---and soon?

I know this is an ongoing issue but it seems like nobody has mentioned it in a while so I figured I would stir it up again. I am fed up with the bookmark double spacing and having to scroll down all of the time.

If nothing else I would think that the Firefox team owes all of its loyal users an explanation as to why they don't seem to want to fix this probem.

I recently upgraded from Window 7 to windows 10. Ever since, the spacing between the bookmarks has significantly increased. I read several post about this and they all seem to be looking for something in Firefox. I think it has to do with something in windows 10, not Firefox. Any ideas? I've already done the Density/Compact thing. Slight improvement, but not anything like it was under Window 7.

Using YouTube for example...

Previously, when I bookmarked a page/video (URL), if the newly bookmarked page (URL) had previously been visited, the bookmark would be displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a typical "YouTube Play Button" icon (favicon). But, if the newly bookmarked page (URL) has never been visited, then the bookmark would be displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a default "Globe" icon (favicon).

I almost always create bookmarks by dragging links/URLs from the browser client area to a folder in the bookmarks list in the sidebar (and sometimes/rarely, to a folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar). But the same happens if I manually create a new bookmark to a "Visited" or "Un-visited" page.

Recently, this behavior just changed "without notice"...

Two computers. Both computers name version of Firefox and same version Of Windows 10. On computer 1 drag and drop no longer works. I can click star next url and manually to bookmark toolbar. I also cannot reorder on tool bar by dragging and dropping by selecting.

How do I know I'm doing it correctly? On computer 2 it works exactly as should. Click on padlock and drop or click on entry and toolbar and reorder. Same extensions etc and do not have a bookmark extension though have tab session manager. Same version both computers. Only difference in browser is number of tabs open. x 10 difference in number of tabs open computer 1 versus 2.

If I put firefox in troubleshoot mode with extensions etc off or create a brand new profile and try same problem.

I would like my Mozilla Firefox bookmarks to stay on the left side and my bookmark toolbar on the right side (just like it used to be). Now both Bookmark toolbar and Mozilla Firefox bookmarks are on the left side , and I can't even search a Mozilla Firefox bookmark using the search window.

For years had bookmarks in folders showing on Bookmark Toolbar. Today they are all gone. Still in my Bookmarks on the drop down Menu, but not appearing on the Toolbar. Please help. Can't seem to drop and drag them there. Also, the Bookmarks Toolbar keeps disappearing every time I go to look at a new tab.

Hi. I'm trying to transfer Firefox bookmarks from a hard drive pulled from a now dead iMac (was IOS 10.13.4 + Firefox 116.6.0) to a MacBookPro laptop running BigSur (11.6.8) and Firefox 122.0.1. I have the iMac HDD plugged into a hot swap docking station. A search for places.sqlite on the old HD turns up nothing.

I have found answers for drilling down into Windows to find the appropriate files to transfer, but not for Mac. I didn't know Firefox Sync existed until now, and I don't know where to look for a profile on the hard drive. Suggestions?

Ok, this is going to be a bigger problem that I thought. The laptop is my wife's old university-owned mac, and there's a whole "admin" layer of hidden and mixed-up folders. I need to go see the admins for help.

Hi - I just reset my PC and trying to restore Firefox. I saved the default release folder (qejikze4.default-release-1669319412153) which contains the latest bookmarks in the "bookmarkbackups" folder. I tried to just replace the bookmark file in the new install (how I previously transfered them), but I can't find the files in the latest V.120 version. Any suggestions on how I can do it?
