When I've had trouble signing-in to a commercial website, it often says, "Clear your cache." But in Firefox settings, it looks like clearing it will cause my frequently-used passwords to disappear. Am I reading that correctly? If it's true, how can I clear my cache without losing "remembered" passwords and other log-in information?

I'm not very tech-savvy, so need instructions in very plain, "for dummies" English. Thank you for any help.

am facing an issue with Firefox where every time the browser updates, all of my accounts get logged out, including YouTube, ChatGPT, and other websites. I have already tried repairing, uninstalling, and reinstalling Firefox, but the problem still persists.

When I go to my Firefox browser on my desktop, I have to sign every time to google. I never had to do that until recently. I don't have to do it on my Edge browser or on my Iphone.

I messed up somewhere.

Firefox is storing an ever increasing amount of data on my device. It is up to over 600 MB and growing. This is fairly recent How do I access what data is being saved and clean up data that does not need to be using up memory on my device?

The Cache is never cleared after clearing, there are always about 9,3 MB left. According to my settings there should be 0 MB left. (When I check the Task Manager, Firefox ist always opened up to 10 times.) How can I make sure the Cache is completely cleared? I added Screenshots of both. Thnx for helping...

Hello there's just been an update on my laptop for Firefox.. and now I'm logged out of every account I had opened on my browsers!! I googled this and seemingly this problem has happened before with Firefox..

I am using firefox on linux since ~10 years. Currently running latest FF on Kubuntu. I always had setting set to forget all cookies and session details except of search history on exit.

Since approx 2-3 weeks (latest update?) those settings don't work. FF remembers everything regardless of settings I chose.

Does anyone have idea why this is happening now and how to fix it?

Desktop and laptop--all upgraded with anti-virus software. Why does firefox randomly log me out of websites and delete my cookies--WITHOUT me doing anything? At work, my password book is at home--so being logged out is annoying and stressful Help me with telling me how to STOP being randomly logged out by firefox for no apparent reasons?? PLEASE!!!

History cache and browsing must be constantly cleared to access various sites. Ongoing, constant event to send this mail. Problem now. We thought this is simple. But it looks like we need to have words explained to us. Setting firefox to never remember history makes it produce some claims that it looks like it developers aren't really aware of the meaning of. Setting it to "Never remember history" makes it automatically check "Clear cookies and site data every time you close Firefox" and "Based on your history settings, Firefox deletes cookies and site data from your session when you close the browser.". After having done that firefox forces a restart. We use it a little bit and close it again. Then open it up and re-enable "Remember history". It will force another restart, and then suddenly remember all the things it was told not to remember. Like automatically relogging into google for you, opening tabs, and things like that.

So. Can someone explain to us the meaning of the words "forget", "never", "history", "clear", "cookies and site data", "every time", "close firefox", "deletes", "close the browser". We thought it couldn't be more obvious that what the user intends with these settings is for you to delete the user data. Like you claim you do. And then you wonder why people say firefox is bought and payed for by google. If anyone of you can find the time to take your tongues out of google long enough to define these words for us we would forever be thankful. Can please someone please teach us please english please?
