hi all i'm having a problem with firefox browser, its not keeping my website logged in. This does not occur after i close my browser but after a few hours of log in, even if i leave the browser opened and come again back later.

I've been using firefox for ages now and never really had this issue. It has only starting happening only recently, since early this week or last week the most.

I've also manually cleared all cookies/log in etc and updated firefox to the latest version maybe it helps, but nothing changed.

Please note that I do not clear history/active log in etc neither it is set up to do it automatically when i close browser also i do not have any 3rd party apps that forbid cookies. I had a firefox addon before but disabled it maybe it was interfering, but it still didnt resolve the problem.

any help much appreciated as it is getting quite irritating. Thanks in advance Lee

After the latest firefox update a website i use no longer excepts my login. the page spins and times out. the console shows the following : Source map error: error: request failed with status 404. I turned off Ehanced tracking but the website still did not work. I have their cookies listed in the exceptions block. Not sure what to do next. ps: I am not an it guy

Their company rep stated they have problems with other customers using Firefox and recommended using Chrome.

Hello, A couple weeks ago my Quickbooks Online software began requiring 2 tier authentication. This feature is disabled within the software settings and does not happen when using a Macbook. According to Quickbooks this issue is due to the browser (Firefox). I didn't change any setting prior to this issue. I did however reset to the default settings but the problem is not resolved. I've searched the Firefox settings for a solution but was unsuccessful. Can anyone help?

Thanks, Kathy

FF is nagging me to no end to upgrade, from 82.0.3 to whatever. I would prefer to just get rid of the nags if that is possible.

Short of that, the upgrades are NEVER as advertised and always blow up things that are never covered in the upgrade release notes. I get the impression these upgrades are poorly tested. The last site-specific video AutoPlay problem I had took two months to fix -- no thanks to FF support. But I got it fixed. That involved Engineer Buddys at Intel and the source code.

Here I'll ask the same old question and no doubt get the same canned response -- Are there any unexpected blow-ups I need to know about NOT covered in the release notes ? Of course the answer will be No, because the volunteers are not privy to the thinking and failures of the developers.

Let me be clear about this: When/if I upgrade (because the changes wrought in my modified browser will be blown out and I'll need to co-opt more help with that) is there anything extant that will not work ? Anything at all -- especially with respect to video AutoPlay features ?

Upgrade agony got way too old a long, long time ago with respect to settings I had tweaked and got blown out...

Can anyone help with this ?

Preferred solution: Shutdown the upgrade nags.

I have been having a bizarre problem for over a week. No matter what address I connect to (via a link or typing it in), down at the bottom of the browser I can see that a google.com address is stalled, not connecting, and preventing access to the connection - to the point of the connection timing out. My ISP is functioning properly.

I am not talking about links I click from a google search, but any and all pages I access.

In the first place there is no need for a google connection to be involved with the sites I am going to. And in the second place is there a way to prevent what I am guessing is google tracking, since it seems to the problem that is timing out all my browser activity.

Thirdly, I installed Chrome, also, to use a specific add-on for a project I work on. But the add-on did not do anything useful, so I uninstalled Chrome for that reason but also because there are clearly a lot of instances of telemetry that it does not appear possible to stop since Chrome does not seem to be configurable.

Of course there was a lot of Chrome junk that was not uninstalled. I was wondering if that could be causing the problem. So yesterday I made sure to get rid of as much of it as I could in the directory and the registry. But it has not made a difference.

I assume it is not a Firefox problem, since I use Cyberfox when a need a 32bit browers and have the same problem, though it is not as pronounced.

Any ideas about what is causing the problem and how I can put an end to it are welcome.

(I detest Windows 10 and how it dumbs down everything and prevents configuring, so continue to happily use Windows 7 (and XP too) with a stable 40MB ethernet connection. I am also using 8.8.8.8 DNS (googles) plugged into my modem so that Roku does a better job of connecting than if I use my ISP DNS.)

I have used FF for years, now V82 on W7 starts out fine, but bogs down to point you can not type. I have tried all the fixes noted here without success. Monitoring both Windows Task Manager and FF Task Manager shows nothing unusual when this happens. Internet speed is 100MBS.

Turning off addons, limiting Tabs, clearing history, updating drivers, minimizing background programs, etc., has little or no effect. FF just bogs down, and usually doesn't recover until restarted.

This appears to be particularly noticeable on ebay, but does happen at random on other sites. Where else can I look for a clue to what the problem is?

I am soooo annoyed, this has been happening for a few months now and I have looked high and low for a fix. It's NOT my graphics card, it happens on almost every page, no matter if I have 2 tabs open or 10. It is ridiculous that I can't find a fix. I am just about too find another browser, even though I have used Firefox for many years, I am sick of this. I have tried resetting my entire Firefox, uninstalling and re installing (which is a nightmare, because although it is "supposed" to save he settings, it doesn't save them all, in fact it only saves my bookmarks!) clearing all cache, cookies, history and everything else I can think of. This started all at once, never once did I have this issue before one of the updates! Can anyone please help? I will give it another shot before getting rid of Firefox. But not much longer. By the way, this is not happening on my Android phone or Tablet. Thanks in advance, Diana

Suddenly I am unable to log into Facebook. I have made no changes to my computer or to Firefox. When I try to go to Facebook the credentials box comes up, then before I can type in my credentials another small window appears with the title bar "Not Logged In" and Please Log in to Continue, and two little buttons at the bottom Cancel or Log In. I am unable to input my credentials at all; the little window keeps coming up. I am able to successfully log into Facebook using Microsoft Edge browser.

I am running Windows 7.
