When you move your mouse cursor on the tab area to select a tab, it happens quite often that the Mac menu bar opens automatically and covers the tab area, thus preventing you from opening the tab (see the screenshot).
This is a rather inconvenient issue with Firefox for Mac.
For example, in Chrome for Mac, there is a vertical gap on top of the tabs to avoid this effect - see the screenshot. Or in Safari, tabs are located below the address bar.
Is there any solution to the issue?

I asked a question the other day here is the link https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1263806
i thank the two people that replied but unfortunately the instructions from them were to no avail, i looked into my folder named 'jfzay9hf.default', which basically showed all of my firefox data and numerous folders of different data, in one of the replies it said to check the 'sessionstore-backups' folder to see if i could the previous session that contained the window i lost, but i could not find any from the date of the session i lost, i also tried to find a 'shadow copy' using a app called 'shadow explorer' to see if i could find a earlier version of the session..but i still found nothing. i looked around and found a folder named 'data reporting' and inside that was a archives folder. i found a something named '1561953795359.bceb0e3c-db98-4f51-b748-bf53f96491e3.main.jsonlz4' and the date for it was 7/1/19 and there was another with a similar name but a date of 7/2/19 which was around the time i lost that window and both of these files types were 'JSONLZ4'. i tried to view them with the jefferson scrounger tool, but they did not show any tabs or window/urls of any sort it just showed the name of the file i put in.
is there a way i can view these files to see what tabs/windows were on them with the scrounger tool? is there anything else i could do to try and get this erased window back, other than searching through my history for hours?

I was using the tree style tabs add-on. Firefox popped up a message about a problem with that add-on, which I unfortunately clicked on, and all my tabs vanished. Now not only do I not have my tree-style tabs, Firefox will not create new tabs at all, and "restore session," or "restore all tabs" does nothing. FWIW, in safe mode, it will still give me standard abs at the top.
The Add-ons page offers me "find alternative add-ons," but will not download the alternative it offered me.
I've been a loyal Firefox user since the very first iteration of Firefox, but this has got me ready to bail and find another browser. Really pissed that it gave me no option to read up on what the problem was before killing all my tabs and refusing to allow me to even make new ones in the standard top tab mode without safe mode. I understand there being a problem with an add-on, but this sort of behavior is beyond the pale.
Anyone encountered this problem? Any solutions beyond changing browsers?

How can I remove the Extension (Yahoo ….lbar and New Tab) area from blocking typing space?
When I open up a new tab, sometimes the window is short and because the Extension is long I can’t type unless I expand the window. See image below. I don’t want to expand the window because I am using the side by side view ( one doc is half the screen and another doc is the other half of screen). How can I remove the Extension (Yahoo ….lbar and New Tab) so its not blocking the available typing space?

I just updated to Firefox 65 and suddenly my tabs are once again up in the gods. How do I get them down below the bookmarks toolbar and address bar? I've tried Userchrome and followed the 2017 video (which was very lcear by the way) that was recommended in Firefox support but it didn't work and I'm at my wits end. I hate this tabs on top thing and just want to put it back where it belongs. Please help?

Feb 2019, yet again with the latest update we lost Tabs on Bottom [which in fact means tabs just above and part of the pages] so we are back stuck with the Chrome clone of having Tabs right at the top of the browser. Well for all those people who enjoy a Chrome clone 'bully for you', I hate it, and it can not be solved by normal settings. The fact that the solution lies somewhere in a Chrome coding excercise means that Firefox is now being buit on the Chrome framework, so somewhere in there probably lurks the chrome [read google] 'information dragnet'. That's shut the door as far as I am concerned. I found that Pale Moon still offers 'tabs on bottom'. [so atop the web page] Even Vivaldi, which I am sure is also a chrome clone offers a real Tabs at the bottom, so actually at the bottom of the web page. No after years of use I am kicking Firefox into touch [so expunging]. Now I have to wonder how long it's going to take before I am forced to discard Thunderbird! Oh yes, it says somewhere I should not use the term Firefox is broken... well folks: IT IS

I am not going to do any digging. I type way to slow. Its why i haven't transitioned to linux. Just put the option to put tabs back on the bottom. It was available for a long time, then some smart asses thought changing it "made more sense" it doesn't. I also hate that all my history and bookmarks simply disappeared into the chrome disaster firefox has become. I use palemoon because huh huh it can still put tabs on the bottom.
Simply, there is no security reason to not have tabs AVAILABLE to be on the bottom-where they belong. I would also suggest letting me clutter my screen with all the stuff that was once just a matter of how the GUI is presented and not a security issue.
I refuse to go back to Firefox because you have made it less user friendly and haven't fixed it in 5 years!

Appalling Comments from Mozilla about tabs on bottom instead of top
"With the number of user complaints from inept users who can't seem to follow precise instructions about using userChrome that "we" support volunteers (and Mozilla) are seeing here, I fully expect some limits placed in Firefox as to what userChrome can modify in future Firefox versions. "We" are recommending too many "fixes" for "restoring" real old features like "tabs on the bottom" that Mozilla killed long ago."
Yes, unfortunately I'm one of those inept non-programmer users and if you leave out essential steps in the instructions (like where to find your profile file) I can't follow them either. And why ask me to learn programming and spend 15 minutes fixing this? A LOT of people have requested this preference. How arrogant to belittle it. With every Firefox update my tabs below fix disappears again and I am left with tabs on top where I don't like them, and have to google again for yet another fix.
Please, please add this option to Firefox preferences.

i have lost my file folder style tabs w/ quantum v61.0 any ideas how to get them back?? thanks, jd
My Options are set to open a new tab when I click on a link, but the linked page opens in the SAME TAB.
This applies to the recent "upgrade." Previously, it worked fine: I'd click a link, and a new tab would open with the desired location.
