Since none of my devices have a "manage account" selection under Sync (or Sync set up), there's no way to get or reset my recovery key. I only see "Set up Firefox sync" and "Pair a device". Everything else leads to a dead end without access to a recovery key or being able to manage the account.

I apologise if this is the wrong place to post this, but I thought to share my findings as I have seen other unresolved issues on the support forums matching my issue. I am not really interested in helping to solve the problem, as I have a workaround, but thought that someone in the Mozilla community might appreciate my findings.

Around a week ago, I began seeing regular system freezes. I was unable to pin down the exact cause of the freezes but there were some anomalies:

@Running Windows 7 Professional @No blue screen @Was unable to retrieve any trace or core dump @System ran fine in safe mode, but NOT when running a "clean" boot

I would be running for around 10-30 seconds after login before having a complete lockup and having to cut the power to the PC.

I pinned the crashes on one of two possibilities:

1. Hardware failure 2. Driver conflicts / issues

Instead of turning off services one by one to narrow down the problem, I opted for a complete re-install. I wiped the hard disc and re-installed windows from CD. After completing the initial setup, I left the desktop open for an hour, waiting for any freezes. After an hour of running, I began to start applications, ran solitaire, IE, etc. Another hour passed of me browsing the web with no crash. I installed all system updates and again waited an hour with no crash.

I had thought my problems solved, so I began a few downloads for applications: Deluge, Steam and Firefox. Firefox was the first installer to complete, so I installed and launched, within 10 seconds my system froze again.

After looking for other issues, I've seen there could be a conflict between firefox and my AMD display drivers. I have seen a few of these issues (still unresolved) in the mozilla support pages.

Despite me preferring firefox, I'm not too keen on spending any more of my time to help resolve this issue and am now using (urgh) Chrome. I'll keep an eye on firefox patch notes for any references to the issue and will try again in a few months.

As of writing this, I am back up to a rough description of my system before and have been running chrome with no crashes for 24 hours.

Again, apologies for my hasty description, likely posted in the wrong place, but I hope that someone finds this useful.

How do I stop my URL bar(top center) from using the same search settings as my search bar(top right)

I want my URL/address bar(the space in the top center) to use google search when I type into it, and I want the search bar(the one in the top right corner) to search on wikipedia when I type in it. It was previously working like this, but suddenly firefox no longer is allowing me to use separate engines in the two spaces.

I've already tried setting the keyword.url to "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=" , but that setting is for some reason being ignored and is defaulting to whatever I have set on the search bar. If I set the search bar to wikipedia the URL bar uses that, if I set it to amazon the URL bar uses that instead.

Like I said, it was working the way I liked yesterday, and today it no longer is. I have no changed any settings between yesterday and today that would cause this.

I began on the Web with the NCSA Mosaic browser. I then progressed through Netscape Navigator and into Mozilla ("Mosaic killa") and the original Firefox betas. O, how I wax nostalgic for the "good old days" back before Satan discovered the Internet and decided to condemn us all to eternal damnation via the advent of tabbed browsing.

I gave tabs a chance. They only caused clutter, confusion and consumption of screen real estate. Anything that could be done in a new tab could be done much better in a new window. I've been biding my time, waiting for the majority of Web users to realize that tabs were useless and foolish, but alas, the majority of Web users are apparently... useless and foolish.

The next great crime to be committed was for the first Firefox option to change from New Window to New Tab. It took me nearly a year to overcome my habitual clicking on the first option, unintentionally opening a new tab, then having to waste time closing it and going back to carefully scroll down to the next option of New Window.

We were given SOME reprieve with the options to uncheck "Always show the tab bar" and "Open new windows in a new tab instead," but what we really needed was an option to "Open new TABS in a new WINDOW instead." Better yet, one that would say, "Completely disable tabbed browsing and remove all 'tab' options from menus and hotkeys."

Now the Apocalypse is upon us, and with Firefox 23, we are forced to have a stupid TAB at the top of our browser window. We should NOT need to use an add-on or manual code to make it go away. I have trodden the path of righteousness for as long as I could muster, but yea, I grow weary, and the Dark Side is calling me to finally click that box that says "Install Google Chrome."

As for my question.... If I were to join a dating site, should I be upfront and admit my shameful browser choice to prospective partners in my profile, or wait until we know each other better so they are more willing to accept such a flaw in my moral character?

We have a product that uses a java applet to run it. Until Firefox 22 (and for all previous versions), we could depend on the Firefox to work with our product, even when no other browser would. We need to be able to remove FF 23 and re-install FF 22. I've tried all the recommendations to fix the problem, but nothing works. Our Apple customers are the ones who are most affected because neither Safari 6, Chrome nor Firefox will run our product. Our PC customers can run IE.

How do I download Firefox 22? I have a saved copy of the FF 21 installer for PC but not for Mac.

I know that this goes against Firefox advice, but I'm instructing my company and my customers to turn off automatic updates for Firefox until such time that we can use future versions.

if you have a bad one mozilla should instead provide a delete button for that particular plugin that does the actions required to destroy it.

why would anyone since the age of dos remove the yes button from a yes no quit button? maybe cause their stupid enough to take bribes from big-brother corporations?

when in fact long term not acting like a bastard to the end users would give tons of money from the happy users LOOKING for a permanent donate button.

RE: TABS ARE WINDOWS! The Windows bar already functions as a tab bar. Those tabs are called "windows." So, I find Firefox tab windows superfluous. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23? I don't need what is essentially TWO windows bars covering up the entire width of my widescreen monitor's image! I already have a Windows bar at the bottom of my screen and, if I really wanted to, I could change ITS position to the top of the screen, so that it would LOOK like the Firefox tab windows bar. Firefox TABS are, essentially, a superfluous SECOND WINDOWS BAR.

Here are my reasons for why I'd rather use Mozilla's Firefox, than Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Google's Chrome. I love and admire Firefox for Mozilla's intent on good security, for Firefox's Personas add-on, and for Firefox's free use of the Ad-Block add-on which, as you know, has the distinct virtue of reducing screen clutter--the last of which is my motive for wanting to get rid of the SUPERFLUOUS Firefox tabs "windows" bar. I am dreadfully sick of companies forcing miscellaneous bars (mostly representing marketing campaigns trying to sell me something) into my browser (and down my throat) every time I download something. (In case you haven't guessed, I am deliberately referring to your Firefox tabs bar as a "Firefox tabs 'windows' bar," because TABS are WINDOWS!)

In the last couple of weeks, I noticed that when I had multiple tabs open--e.g. 4 or more, here is what happens:

1-when I am typing (even now as I type this), the cursor frequently stops for a few seconds and that blue circling symbol shows up and it says Mozilla Firefox (not responding). This processes for a few seconds and then it stops. This keeps happening ongoing every time I am typing! it can be very annoying and frustrating and hard to get any online work done...e.g. ordering a product, trying to scroll through and read an article online, etc.

2-I have tried closing out the whole program and all the tabs and starting over again with creating new tabs and it happens again.

3-The only time it stopped is when Firefox crashed a few weeks ago and I submitted a crash report, and it went away for a time, and then it started happening again out of the blue.

I use Windows 7, and use Firefox version 23.0.1

If you have any questions that I can answer to help you diagnose the problem, please ask.

thanking you in advance for your help in resolving this.

have re-installed and repaired my existing Adobe XI, but I cannot print any PDF documents. I keep getting an error message when I try to print. I have checked to see if my Adobe plugin was up to date, and it apparently is. "Cannot load library DLBAPRB.DLL. Using Defaults. Error: 126"
