After the version 149, a very strange issue happens to me with Firefox. When I try to log in to some services (Google account, WhatsApp, Mozilla account) the browser freezes. That does not happen if I turn the hardware acceleration off so I essentially thought there is some issue with my graphics drivers which I then updated (Nvidia 580.142 drivers for Geforce GTX 960). But what is very strange is that the issue isn't present when I use Firefox in private mode! That means: Normal mode, HW acceleration on -- freezing Normal mode, HW acceleration off -- not freezing Private mode, HW acceleration on -- not freezing I switched to the ESR version now which works fine too. Still, I am curious about what is going on and I would like to find a solution. My system is fully updated Arch Linux. I cannot share my data since I can't log in to my Mozilla account. I am unable to download large files from an MS Sharepoint account in Firefox. Small files are fine (less than 100MB). Large files download fine if I use MS Edge browser but I don't want to have to use Edge unless absolutely necessary. Using Firefox Troubleshoot mode doesn't help. Clearing the cach/cookies etc doesn't help. When downloading a 600MB file, the download repeatably fails around 90-100MB. My OS is Linux Mint xfce64. Obviously MS doesn't like firefox for some reason, even in Troubleshoot mode. thanks in advance for any help.

My previous email provider Eclipse has ceased hosting. I found how to update sync email by adding another and promoting. I can't do this as the system sends a code to my no longer exisiting email address. How to get around this. I have a gmail address, iandtryagain@gmail.com

An aggressive website can cause "isolated web co" processes to be started. When they hog all processors and memory, the computer besomes unresponsive. Keyboard and mouse freezes up.

Is there a way to limit firefox processes to n-1 processors, leaving 1 processor available for me to kill it ?

I have a Ruby on Rails app and whenever I click on a button in it that submits a POST request, instead of redirecting back, it sends me to a GET of the POST request. For example I am at /a, I make a POST request to /a/b, instead of redirecting back to /a, it sends me to /a/b which returns a 404 as there is only a POST defined at this route. I have tested this same site in Chromium and the redirects work properly, returning me back to /a

Hey, i am since 30. 03.2026 from windows 11 to linux mint changed, in firefox- browser amazon musik unlimited doesn`t work. But i have there all of my musik and i`ll missed it so. Is there no option to here my musik?

I have vertical tabs enabled and the "expand when hovering mouse" option is activated (see screenshot). However, the latter functionality tends to glitch at some point in basically every session. I can't tell if a specific action triggers it, so far it seems pretty random. The glitch is that either the tabs are expanded and won't collapse, or the opposite: they're collapsed and refuse to expand when I point at them. Is this feature maybe still experimental? or something? I'm running Firefox 149.0b5 DEveloper Edition on Garuda Linux (Arch based).

AV1 Hardware Acceleration stopped working. In about:support->Media->Codec Support Information Firefox states that Harware Decode AV1 is supported but it uses only Software Decoding. AV1 worked perfeclty before in Firefox, is still working in other browsers and apps in my system.

My current version of Firefox is 149.0 (64 bit) Mozilla Firefox for Arch Linux Arch Linux - 1.0 I am running this on two computers, a laptop and a desktop, both running Arch Linux, currently at 6.19.10. I use the laptop much more, and recently noticed that I cannot upload or download files with Firefox. No file selection window opens and the request is simply ignored. Nothing appears in my Downloads folder. Meanwhile, I also noticed that this function works just fine on the desktop computer. I don't remember making any settings changes. I do have popups generally disabled but can enable them for certain sites. In any case, I have tried enabling popups and redirects completely with no change. I figure there must be something different about the settings on these two Firefox installations, but what? What can you tell me? Or ask me? Thanks.
