When I have firefox open for a while, not sure how long, the display starts to mess up on some pages. When I print those pages, the words are still messed up. One place is printing things form the Virginia Department of Taxation I-File. I do not like to close out of the browser every single day and with other browsers I do not have to. This is new and started this year. Not sure when. How do I fix this issue without having to restart the browser and close out of everything all the time?

When you right-click on a window thumbnail, a menu should appear, but instead the window thumbnail just disappears. The screenshots show 1) a Firefox mini-window 2) a mini-window that just disappeared when you right-click 3) a mini-window of any other program 4) the menu that appeared is as it should be Otherwise the browser works absolutely fine for a long time. But this problem causes a lot of inconvenience because I have 2 monitors.

Please see enclosed screenshot, it happens when I set a video full screen. It doesn't happen all the time but randomly. The screenshot shows the video before it starts hence the black screen. Refreshing the page gets rid of it but I'd like to know what's causing it in the first place. Using latest Firefox 137.0.2, Windows 10.

Firefox recently offered a choice of having open tabs appear in a sidebar on the left side. This is great but the tabs and sidebar stay visible when engaging the f11 full screen mode. This makes an awkward appearance when trying to view in full screen - such as movies or any other. The address bar at the top is hidden with f11, but the side tabs and their vertical side bar remain visible. I believe Firefox would be more desirable if the f11 key also hid the side bar. This is how Microsoft's Edge browser functions. Can't have a true full screen if the sidebar and tabs remain visible. The full screen functions works well if the sidebar function is turned off in settings but this makes it awkward for a user who wishes to use the sidebar tabs with a full screen mode. More recently, for the past few months maybe, I sometimes get a white menubar when Firefox is in the forefront. Clicking on it will restore the menubar.

I want to pin a couple of extension to my toolbar, and not have them buried in the Extensions drop down. I used to have this, but had to reload my computer and lost it.

I cannot see the text I highlight for copy or links so I don't know if it's copied or not- is there a way to adjust that? It's very irritating..

Hi anyone got any suggestion on how to get the Firefox search bar in the middle of the page, like before please. I do not like using the search bar in the taskbar, i know. First World Problems!! ;)

I left my computer for a while, and when I returned and took it off screensaver I started going through my emails when I noticed that the bookmarks on the toolbar are missing. The toolbar is present, and I toggled between only show on new tab, never show and always show a few times, but they're still missing. I even tried bookmarking two webpages, but they were not added to the toolbar. As stated, I have the bookmark toolbar to always show. Firefox just updated yesterday, 4/8/25 to 130.1.0, and I'm pretty sure that they were there this morning, but I can't be totally sure. I noticed my computer had updates available, so knowing updating it would not have any effect on Firefox, I restarted the computer while updating so I could also restart Firefox with a bit of a delay. I had also restarted it twice before without any luck. The only thing I did besides updating Firefox was enabled the sidebar, which I then turned off and still did not have any bookmarks in the toolbar. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, but I may not be able to view and any responses or make the stated changes until Friday.

I'm experiencing a visual issue when typing in text input fields (such as input boxes or textareas) in Firefox. While typing, a dark overlay or block appears behind the current word or text I'm typing, which makes it very hard to read. It looks like some kind of highlight or shadow, possibly related to spellcheck or text recognition.

This issue occurs across different websites and makes it uncomfortable to type for long periods. I'm currently using Firefox [137.0.2] on Windows 10.

I've attached a screenshot that shows the problem clearly.

Things I've tried so far: - Disabling spellcheck - Changing themes - Disabling extensions - Testing in private window

None of these solved the issue.

Notably, switching to the **light theme** makes the issue disappear — the text input background becomes clear and easy to read again. However, I prefer to use the **dark theme**, so I’m looking for a solution that works in dark mode as well.

Can anyone help identify what's causing this or suggest a way to disable this effect while keeping the dark theme?

Is there a possibility to keep the tabs at the top while in full-screen mode, or make it an option? As I need tabs but work best in full-screen mode so windows is pushed to the side.

Firefox now has a dark background on a "simple" html page without css styling (see screenshot #1). You may reproduce this issue by browsing to a local page like http://localhost:8080 with something like a 404-page (see screenshot #2)

That far - dark mode is cool, isn't it? Yep, it would be. If the text would not be black, on a dark background.

Happens to me without any plugins, or any userChrome etc. (Screenshot was taken with plugins on, but disabling them (and restarting) had no effect)

Workarounds discovered: - set `layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override` to 1 (This changes nearly everything to white, which is not what I want.

- Setting theme to the builtin white/light works, but:

    - View Source has white text on white background (see screenshot #3)
    - Everything is in light mode, and thats simply not what I want

What I would expect: - Viewing a page without shitty modifications - Viewing a white page (suprise suprise) white

Does the recent update Firefox 137.0 retain the separate address bar and search bar? One of the things I hate about MS Edge is that there is no separate search bar. Have not been pleased about the small size of the Firefox search bar the last few years. The user should be able to size it at will.

I use the latest editions of FireFox x64 137.0.1 and Windows Server 2016 Standard updated. Variable fonts on any websites are displayed incorrectly, the layout.css.font-variations.enabled setting is blocked and set to false. The popular ideas offered by AI did not help. Is there way to fix it?
