I have a new desktop i7 computer with 16 GB of RAM. Why are my Firefox browser screens locking up? I'm running Windows 11 Pro. I don't have this problem with Chrome.

Firefox continuously hangs and locks up. It has 15 or 20 processes running and then stops responding when I click on a link. I shut down Firefox and restart and it runs fine. I restarted this session 10 minutes ago and searched for "Limit Firefox sessions" and it already has 14 processes running.

Something is wrong with that.

In "Performance", I Unchecked "Use recommended performance settings" and checked " Use hardware ..."

In the current version, Firefox slows, freezes and requires restarting. This seems to happen after about 8-12 hrs of being open (several windows and several tabs per window). Firefox is using ~5gb memory (system has 64gb).

When we get to this point, opening a web page will pause for 5-10 seconds and then complete. Pressing exit at this time has the same affect - 5-10 sec pause and then close tabs. Restarting Firefox fixes everything. Have to do this this at least 2x per day.

I’m running into a frustrating issue with Firefox. Whenever I paste a large amount of text (especially code) in one go, Firefox freezes and becomes unresponsive. This happens frequently in various web apps like ChatGPT and Make.com.

It’s not a one-time thing—it happens consistently when pasting large blocks of text. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue, or is there a way to fix it? Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Hello For some time now, Firefox has not been working normally: - response time gets longer the longer I use it - to the point where it hardly responds to clicks at all. I have the latest version: 135.0.1 I've uninstalled it completely, then reinstalled it completely, without any change to the problem. I've disconnected all extensions except Proton Pass and Proton VPN What can I do? Thanks

MY BROWSING IS VERY, VERY SLOW. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING EVEN CHANGING MY INTERNET PROVIDER. CAN YOU HELP. SOMETIMES IT DISPLAYS "COULD NOT CONNECT". REALLY FRUSTRATING AND ANNOYING. FOR EXAMPLE I CAN'T EVEN CONNECT WITH DVLA OR INSURANCE COMPANIES.

Hi after MS installed the Feb 20 update Firefox freezes on pages particularly Youtube where a video will play but any click action causes it to lock up. Is there any way to refresh or reinstall FFox without losing bookmarks etc?

I used to play World of Tank and look at YouTube on my second screen. Everything went smooth untill this week. YouTube on Firefox on my second screen is lagging or freezing. I tried Opera, I tried Edge it worked fine, but with Firefox, it is no more possible to play YouTube on my second screen while playing. It is not a matter of graphic hardware as this issue only happen with Firefox. I tried to deactivate every module and to reinstall Firefox (either the Beta version) but still got the same lagging and freeze on YouTube. Do you need anything that can help you to investigate this issue, this is really terribly frustrating and boring.

For the past week or more the browser freezes up. A message comes up about "waiting" or discontinue. It often finally begins to work again; however the problem persists and very annoying. Can anything be done?

Firefox hangs after starting with "session restore" After I click yes to restore the session firefox just hangs. So I just went right back using Version 138. I reinstalled from scratch still the same problem. At least the older 138 loads my previous session after hanging for 4 hours about and then everything works normally. The newest Firefox does the same, but NEVER resolves, it just keeps on hanging. Doesnt make any sense. What makes the system restore hang this badly. It cannot be old profiles. I completely renmed the old firefox install directory and cleanly installed firefox and it still does this. so it is not inheriting anything. I also allowed it to create a completely new setup in ./mozilla/firefox in the user account.

It also uses more than 117% cpu constantly during this period. See top entry.

Seems like I have to move to Thunderbird/Seamonkey or Brave. Since 2019, Firefox became very "strange"

Latest update of Firefox 64, glitch is with attachments to Outlook Emails, cycles trying to open attachments for hours, cannot add attachments to emails. I'm using Chrome now because you software has problems. Help to get back to using FireFox.

My Firefox desktop app recently updated. After it updated, I now cannot access anything by right clicking. When I right click, a giant window of options shows up (see image). It doesn't change no matter what I click on. When I try to select something in the giant window of options, nothing happens. I'm having a very hard time with it, particularly because I can't open links into new tabs now.

updating firefox to 134.0.2 on an imac running sequoia 15.2 the update hangs clicking the firefox icon opens a new window that says firefox is trying to install a new helper tool i enter my password, the window disappears then a notification pops up saying background items added software from mozilla corporation add items.... nothing happens, hung no firefox processes in activity monitor activity monitor does find one org.mozilla.updater process but it is not using or gaining cpu time tried logging off and even rebooting clicking on the firefox icon repeats the above sequence .... 30+ minutes later, firefox started normally
