I am using the current version of Firefox and when using a particular website (Microsoft CRM Online) I get frequent popup dialogs . The issue I have is Firefox will ask me (in a dialog) if I want to "prevent this website from creating additional dialogs". I understand the reasoning behind this, but I don't want it. I would prefer that the dialogs behave in the same way they do in other browsers.
Can I disable this feature either at the browser

Hello,
I just tried to right-click on some of the bookmarks in my menu, but the choices that came up in the context-sensitive menu were all grayed out, so I couldn't click on any of them. This was also the case with the several others I right-clicked on as well, however, if I right-click on a folder in that menu, then "Open All in Tabs" is NOT grayed out while the other options in the context-sensitive menu are.
I'd "refreshed" my Firefox browser earlier today to try and solve a possible sluggishness problem I've been experiencing, so that might(?) be (part of) the reason for this...however, even if it is, I haven't found a way to resolve it,
I also checked the Tools --> Options area and couldn't find anything there for this, too.
I've not yet tried restarting my PC after successfully refreshing Firefox (and reconfiguring/Customizing it a bit, such as by installing Extensions and showing the Title Bar), so perhaps(?) this will "self-resolve" after I do that. Still, this behavior seemed odd enough that I wanted to post this and ask for your thoughts, please.
Please note, just so you know what I have, that I'm using Windows XP SP2 with Firefox v43.0.1.
Can you please provide some insight into this as I don't recall ever experiencing it before?
Thanks so much, Bram Weiser

Dear Community,
Thanking you in advance for taking the time to read my question.
I have a profile backup of Firefox, which is dated 2016. It is called Old Firefox Data. I have a copy of it on a USB stick. Can any of you please tell me how I could restore this, please? I have read articles about this in the support pages, but they tell me about changing the name of the profle, and its location. This is confusing.
Please can you tell me how I could restore this old backup? Yours MAREK_WES

Updated Firefox to latest version. All of my bookmarks, settings, add-ons, passwords, etc. have disappeared. I have gone through the help section and done everything suggested. My bookmarks are not where Mozilla said they would be. According to the files, there are no bookmarks or anything else that existed before the update. How can I get them back, some are quite important and are to do with my business.
Also - when I log onto gmail a bar along the top tells me that "This version of Firefox is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a supported browser". I have the latest version of Firefox so what is this message about?
Please help

I'm having somewhat of a nightmare right now. With exceptions I have blocked all cookies from google but whenever I visit google theres a cookie set.
Even if I click off the accept cookies it makes no difference somehow Firefox is just ignoring these settings yet I'm quite used to it popping up for sites asking to set a cookie of not.
I found I had to put every version of the url eg. https://google.co.uk - This took a long time - it's not sufficient seemingly to tell it that google.com and google.co.uk are domains which can't set a cookie. It's really annoying to have to keep doing this for every possibilty.
Now if I try to go to the settings in google it will tell me that cookies are off, However, get this!:
I go to google.co.uk and do a search . check the cookies and lo and behold there is a cookie for google.com (NID) there. This doesn't happen if I clear it and go to google.com only google.co.uk
Does anyone know what is going on here?

I am concerned about /external/ security (tracking protection) but not /internal/ security (what's stored on my computer). How can I turn ON 'tracking protection' by itself? It seems to be part of "private browsing", but if I use that, I lose my browser history, which sucks because it's useful. Even the "tracking protection" option actually says "In private windows" but I want it in NON private windows. Or, equivalently, I want private windows to save my url, form, search, download history.
These two kinds of security concern seem very different, so it seems strange that the way it's set up, you can't have the one I want, without also turning on the one I don't want!

So, I've had this problem in the past and went back to windows and chrome because of it. I no longer have that option and I am stuck with firefox. This time around I type in seventorrents.win press enter. One would expect seventorrents to be the next screen. NOPE, google.com is, treating my url like a search term. This is total bullshit, you know it, I know it. The problem lies in the browser, get the code writers to fix the goddamned thing. IF chrome worked on kali, you'd never hear from me again. Annoying as fuck. FIX IT NOW

I deliberately install older versions of firefox so I can use my choice of extensions. If you're going to take it upon yourself to remove/disable them, I have no use for firefox. Further when I say I don't want an update, I "mean" I don't want an 'effing' update !! Please address these heavy handed tactics being used against my choices. It costs me production time not to mention the aggravation... If I have no say in how your product fits my needs, please let me know...... I don't want or need your help/input unless I ask for it !!
After my profile is interfered with, I frequently get crashes when I try to upload images or anything else, or attempt to change directories.... Have I erred in thinking Firefox is the best???? Right now its NOT!!!

I have been happy with FF v43 until I decided to update to v50. It installed but would not launch, saying "mozglue.dll" was missing. I found on Google that some other users had the same problem, with some advice that AVG might be the problem. I found the mozglue.dll was in fact in Program Files - and repeated uninstalls and reinstalls of FF v50 with AVG also uninstalled made no difference. I (mistakenly) found that reusing my original install file of v43 then produced the same result - until I discovered that FF was updating my v43 to v47 within seconds of launching. I finally beat FF automatic updating to get to the Option "do not update," so I have a working, albeit old version of Firefox. Any advice would be welcome - while I fiddle with various workarounds of annoying warnings about my FF being out of date and its knock-on affect on add-ons etc. PS: I am very happily (and stubbornly) Windows XP Professional 64-bit sp2, but I suggest it's not my operating system at fault because other sufferers use a variety of OS. Thanks, Kevin in the UK
