Greetings forum -
I have Firefox on automatic update. Last night Firefox auto updated to version 78.0.1 and this update added pre-installed bookmarks suggestions that appear when I click the command line.
These pre-installed bookmarks suggestions are offensive trash like: facebook, twitter, reddit, etc.
I have searched the help section. I have scoured the customize pull down menus. I have looked through the bookmark editor ... and found no clear method of removing these pre-installed bookmarks suggestions.
There MUST be a way to do so. I CAN NOT see facebook, twitter, and reddit in my bookmarks every time I click on the command line.
Does anyone know of a method to remove these pre-installed bookmarks suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge.

It seems that Firefox on Win10 does not present alternate stylesheets in local files.
See for example: https://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/alternatives
I have a trivial HTML file, e.g., c:\alternate_stylesheet.html, with a few of those examples of alternative stylesheets, like:
<link rel="alternate stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://www.w3.org/StyleSheets/Core/Steely" title=Steely> <link rel="alternate stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://dbaron.org/style/forest" title="Forest (by David Baron)">
Viewing such a trivial HTML page in Firefox on Win10, the View > Page Style list is the default - just "No Style" and "Basic Page Style". The list does not include the head link alternate stylesheet options.
Why not?
IE has no trouble with these (menu View > Style presents them as expected), which seems to confirm that the trivial HTML code is correct.
Any advice?

Hi,
I am on windows 10/FF 78.01 and I have a batch file that on closure saves many things to another disk. Recently I added the saving of my Firefox profiles folder. I had read that when exporting/saving this folder one should ensure that Firefox is closed. Is there a tidy way of closing Firefox in my .bat script?
Currently I am using the cmd taskkill /F /IM firefox.exe but I notice that when I reload Firefox it restarts pretty well exactly where it left off rather than starting with my standard set of tabs as defined in my option 'Use current pages'. It's not a big deal but it would nice to know if there is a correct way to close FF that gives the same restart result as when I do a manual hit 'x' /Close n tabs. Thank you
edited to correct the leading lines spaces, to allow content to wrap properly

I'm using Firefox Beta on a slow laptop in Linux -so, manually changing videos to 360p from the cog works to make them play smoothly. The facebook SD Only setting in https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=videos doesn't really work -only in a few videos. If anyone knows of an extension that handles this on latest Firefox Beta let me know. Thank you.

Hi All
some pages like this one are wide enough to have a horizontal left/right scroll bar.
https://trello.com/b/3OtE8BCR/brizy-wordpress-public-roadmap
If I'm lucky, when I want scroll left or right, the cursor is on a piece of HTML where it can move when I use the left or right arrow keys. However often, the cursor isn't available or the right place.
Is there a key or key combo where I can shift the web page left or right in the FF window? I often find it difficult to use the horizontal scrollbar with the mouse.

Controls an icon added to the toolbar.
What's the syntax for controlling an icon added to the context-menu by an extension?
Example: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/simple-search-google-for/
(It does not have an ID in manifest.json but *I can add it*).
Thank you.
This guide fixed my issue with saving images in .jfif instead of .jpeg format. Hope this helps.

I spend 12+ hours a day in front of a computer and blank pages hurt my eyes. I use dark mode wherever possible.
I've changed the background color of about:blank already and it works as I expected.
However, when a request is fired to load a web page, there's a quick transition which may paint the canvas totally blank before starting rendering the requested page. Since this transition may take a couple of seconds sometimes in my environment, the screen flashes blank onto my face, really hurting my eyes used to most of things dark most of the time.
Is there a way to configure the color of this transitioning blank page, please?
Thanks a lot in advance. :-)

I have set my new tab to look like image one and I really like it but I want to have pages I use A LOT under like image two but then it gets rid of the logo and looks bad. Just to clarify I want it to look like the 3rd image. Sorry if this is a dumb question I just switched from chrome.

Some eighteen months ago I asked you how to make the scroll bars wider in Outlook. But at the time I was using Windows 7 and I cannot find your answer in my saved emails.
Now I am using Windows 10 and I would again like to widen the scroll bars in Outlook.com my email account.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Please remember I am old and not at all computer savvy and would be so grateful for a slow and easy to follow method.
Thank you so much in advance for your help.

How can I disable 'backspace' key from navigating back a page?
I found an old article that said to set a value who knows where to 2, but that wasn't helpful. And I found a page that listed all the shortcuts, but didn't say how to change them. That wasn't helpful either, doggone it!
I agree with a previous poster that this "feature" is inappropriate -- using a text edit key while editing text should not cause navigation to occur.
Thanks!

I can't figure out how to get a word count of a web page. The problem: an academic website offers a tremendously long work in five parts--so lengthy I can't copy&paste into Word without getting error messages. The only extension FF has for getting a word (or character) count is Count Me Up, but you have to paste text into a little box. Shouldn't word count be a FF tool? BTW Chrome too doesn't seem to know about any word count extensions.
