More of a comment. Firefox is the only browser I have used. Love it! Many important bookmarks to easily navigate. Broser update messed up bookmarks and took me hours to get back! Found. Save key and/or password! Learned a lot about profiles and Firefox along the way. Ugh!

I run the current Firefox version under Windows 11 Pro on a Dell Inspiron 15 3530 laptop, Lately, I've been having problems with my bookmarks:

• First, I found that I had somehow lost a large number of bookmark tags; it took me several days to restore them,
• Next, I found that I had lost a bunch of bookmark subfolders; the bookmarks (for the most part) are still listed under their tags.
• When I try searching for tags in Bookmarks Manager, the search yield no results
• When I try to restore my bookmarks from a previous date, I get an "unable to process file" message.
• When I try to open the profile folder through the debugging information page, I get a "file not found" message. After some searching, I found the profile folder not at "C:\Users\croge\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\7csymh5k.default-release", but at "C:\Users\croge\AppData\Local\Packages\Mozilla.Firefox_n80bbvh6b1yt2\LocalCache\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles", Something seems to have gone haywire--did I miss something, or is there an error somewhere?

this is the second time when i turn on my laptop and open firefox but the tab section gets glitched with spaces between multiple tabs and when i restart the browser, everything is gone

There was a issue with my computer due to which I had to reset the unit and once the reset was completed I'm unable to recover my data as its asking for 32 account recovery key, I'm unable to find that key anywhere and need help where can i find the key as there are important bookmarks which I need back.

An hour ago I had all of my Firefox bookmarks. Ten years of meticulously filed and regularly culled references that I use multiple times daily. I rarely log out of Firefox sync, so that I can keep them up to date.

I now have no bookmarks and no tags.

For some context, two things just happened simultaneously. So, I'm not entirely sure which is the culprit.

1) Firefox just updated and I rebooted my computer.

2) Norton 360 updated sometime in the past two days. I attempted to familiarise myself with the new interface. Foolishly, given the track record of Norton-360-for-breaking-your-games, I ran the disc cleanup, which recommended I remove approximately 400 Mb of data. Norton stated this data was temporary files. If they were indeed my bookmark history, nowhere did Norton indicate they were bookmarks. Also, never have I encountered a disc cleanup that wholesale wipes bookmarks. I do hope Norton is not the culprit and this is just a glitch, because if this were due to Norton having no safety net for deleting an entire library of bookmarks - and they can't help me restore them - then that will be the final nail in the coffin for me doing business with Norton.

The suggestion to go to Import and Backup in Firefox, then click Restore, offers only the option of Choose file... - and then launches nothing.

Currently, I'm seeking any means of restoring my bookmarks. Any help would be appreciated.

I had presumed that I was taking reasonable measures through my Firefox Sync settings to protect my bookmarks and ensure they could be restored in the event of accidents. If these bookmarks are permanently lost, the amount of work I've just lost is quite the blow.

Edit No. 01: After writing this, my Bookmarks Toolbar is also now empty. Perhaps it had wiped earlier, but was merely waiting for a refresh to take effect.

Edit No. 02: Also, it seems I am unable to create any new bookmarks. I shall read the help suggestions relating to that now, to see if it's a relevant issue.

Windows 11 Firefox crashed on opening continuously so unable to safe open etc. Did update intel graphics to no avail. Uninstalled in add programs in settings. Did not choose to delete data. Reinstalled and now can't find my profile.

I deleted a profile not knowing it would delete everything I had. How can I undo it? I didn't want Firefox Profiles, it was forced. I deleted it, and everything just got deleted. Can someone please help revert this? Thanks.

I still have not made any progress recovering my lost Firefox bookmarks. I have tried several methods with no success. The bookmark toolbar doesn't work, so I can't bookmark any more pages. I tried restarting the computer and Firefox to no avail. I am considering switching to another browser. I am using Duck Duck Go which is not as good as Firefox that I have been using for about the last 10 years. I might try Microsoft Edge or Bing or some other browser.

Hello! I accidentally logged into my account after switching to a new computer, creating a new recovery key. Now i do not have access to all my saved passwords. I have my recovery key but cannot find where should I type it to get back all my information. Is it possible to recover my information using the original recovery key, not the one I accidentally created? I really need to get the access to all my saved passwords, please help me with it. I'm having trouble with my bookmarks. I accidently included Firefox when using a program to clean up files from my PC. It wiped my bookmarks but I've managed to locate the backup html in my profile folder. Unfortunately I can't find anyway to actually use that back up. All of the guides I've found take you through the manage bookmarks tab but everything there is baisically unresponsive for some reason.

Three days ago a window popped up asking me to update Firefox. I did and afterwards my personal bookmarks listing disappeared. I tried rebooting everything. No luck. I went to your website and followed all of your suggestions, but again nothing worked; mainly because I could not find on my computer the info the last step in your suggestions were asking for. (I did get a message several times telling me I was using an old Firefox profile. I tried to investigate, but each time your instructions told me to look for something as the last or next-to-last step, I ended not being able to find it on my computer. Again, I have tried everything. Please help me.

Hi. I accidentally deleted the "Today" subfolder that exists under the "History" section in Mozilla. How can I get it back? I'm not interested in getting the internet history from today back, just the folder. Thank you for your help.

All of a sudden, all my bookmarks are gone. I read the instructions on using the "Restore" function to find a backup. I am on a Mac, and I found all the backups of my bookmarks in Finder. BUT, when I go through the Restore function and click "Choose File" nothing happens -- I am not given any way to navigate to a location and select a file. HELP!!! I use my bookmarks daily in my job!
