How do I turn the private windows off. I constantly have notifications for it. When I open Mozilla, it's in dark mode and I keep having to go to the regular screen!!! And when i go to different web sites and pages, i get a screen that asks me about location! I don't want to approve it every single time I do something! It's so frustrating!! Please help me! I've been using Firefox on device A computer in the evening, and the next day, after opening device B computer from sleep, a tab was open from the device A session (along with some older tabs I kept open, it was placed at the most right location). I am 100% certain I did not have that tab open from previous session on B.

The only way this tab would be able to appear on device B is if I somehow triggered a "send tab to device" functionality when working on device A, however, I am 100% sure I did not. Seeing how I would have to right click the tab and select a submenu to trigger that, it seems essentially impossible that I did that by accident.

Q: 1. Is there a keyboard combo that could be accidentally hit that would trigger Send tab to device? As far as I could research, there is no such shortcut. 2. Can a website trigger this API and perhaps I approved it by accident? I would definitely also notice this. 3. Is there a sync audit log I could check on either device to see if a tab was synced? I found about:sync-log but nothing really useful in there.

This event is so weird that I am considering secirty aspects or a potential exploit vector..

The "Browser Websocket Client" addon ( https://github.com/abeade/browser-websocket-client ) was automatically disabled. The addons manager says:

> This extension is restricted for violating Mozilla’s policies and has been disabled. You can enable it, but this may be risky.

However, I cannot find any information about which policies the addon violated or when. If it was logging or modifying data, I want to know to what extent I may be compromised from using the extension. If it was for lack of maintenance, I want to know so I can make an informed decision about whether to keep using it, because the addon was still useful to me and my work as of recently.

Hello, I freshly installed my new computer and so my thunderbird version is now newer than before. I use Debian 12 with Thunderbird and Firefox 128.13.0esr now. I do unfortunately not know which version I had before, but I think my problems come from Thunderbird version, not from Debian.

I have 2 problems with the new dialog windows of Print, Save as, Open etc.

1. e.g. when I click on "Print", the dialog window opens and my problem is the position of the Button "Print". Now it is in the upper right corner and always before it was in the lower right corner. Can I change this position of the buttons?

2. e.g. when I click on "Save as", the dialog window opens and my problem is that the field of the filename in the upper middle is much too small in width. Before when this field was at the lower middle to right, there was much more width for the filename. Can I change the width of this field?

All in all my both problems are with dialog windows, which I think are Mozilla / Thunderbird / Firefox exclusive, because in other apps there are dialog windows which look completely different. Is there a way to change the entire "optic" of the dialog windows or maybe I can prevent Mozilla apps from using their own dialogs and use my system standard dialogs?

Hi, I am trying to login to a retirement account that Firefox/Mozilla is blocking. The site works on another browser, but, since I like to use Firefox exclusively for online work, I would really like to access the login there. Any suggestions? work arounds? I get an access denied ERROR 15 "This request was blocked by our security service" instead of the login. Since this site is a retirement account site, I cannot give more info.

I am experiencing an issue with vertical tabs that appears once more than 3 tabs are open. This is happening on the .deb installation of Firefox (version 136.0) across 3 different devices, with different profiles, also when all extensions are disabled. The issue seems to be specific with vertical tabs, as it does not happen with the classical horizontal ones.

The issue: In the vertical tabs sidebar I can move any tab up to any desired position. However, when moving a tab down, the next 2 positions are inaccessible (unless the lowest position in the sidebar is reached in less than 3 steps), it can only be moved to any position lower than that.

Illustration: Assume you had 5 tabs open, named A, B, C, D, and E. And let's assume you wanted to move tab B one position down to be situated between C and D. What I currently have to do to achieve that, is to move B below E (3 positions down: A, C, D, E, B), before I can move back up above D (2 positions up: A, C, B, D, E).

Seeing how tedious that is, I can only assume that it is unintended behavior caused either by a bug, or a setting (if so, which parameter in about:config should I look for?).

Any suggestions to resolve this are appreciated.

This is a very minor issue. I don't know if this is a bug or unintended behavior, but it's my one gripe with tab groups.

Happens When:

• in a tab group, AND
• the current active tab is the rightmost tab of that group

Behavior: Then when opening a new tab, it puts the tab into the group to the right, or if the group is the rightmost group, it doesn't put it into a group at all.

This behavior is frustrating, because if the tab group to the right is closed, it makes navigating to—and from—the newly opened tab very frustrating, as the group it exists in can be collapsed.

When i switch tab bar to vertical and then open another application with firefox-developer side by side with hyprland tile management system,, some button is not taking mouse click on exact location.

My DSL router is at 192.168.0.1. Every time I log in to the admin account from another 192.168 box, Firefox balks because the router uses an evil self-signed certificate from the manufacturer. Is there any way to accept the "risk" permanently? It is an impediment to productivity having to wade through banners proudly proclaiming how dangerous my router is among warning messages and do you really want to ignore our safety warnings and corrupt your system you stupid user who, after decades of experience, cannot decide for yourself if your router is clickbait full of trojans and viruses that don't work on Linux systems anyway. Go bother Windows users with such utter nonsense. I don't need your Windows safety wheels. Solution: provide a way to turn off the miasma in about:config, safely hidden from naive Windows folk, for 192.168 networks.

I use debian linux. I do not want GPC because civicshoutfoundation will not allow me to sign petitions. I unclicked "Tell websites not to sell or share my data" but civic shout still says I am using GPC. Is theree another setting I should change?

I have the issue that despite hardware acceleration is working Firefox causes a high cpu usage which leads to the CPU is constantly boosting to high frequencies and this to higher power consumption. In about:processes of Firefox I can see that the main process is at CPU usage around 150% or higher and tabs (8 in total usually) that contain live stream video spiking up to 50%. nvtop, intel_gpu_top and LACT all indicate that hardware acceleration is working. btop shows even a CPU usage of the Firefox main process over 175%. The overall CPU usage of the system is at 60%. I couldn’t find any helpful information so far in the internet. Maybe here we can get trace of the cause. The reason is I want to bring down the power consumption. Question is is there an issue or I am facing a (hardware) limitation.

Browser has been buggy lately. When I want to close a tab, a new window opens and the tab I wanted to close appears in this window. Please fix the error!

I made a copy of the profile, in the copy I disabled extensions (Troubleshoot Mode), removed prefs.js and user.js, removed x.com site data, disabled Enhanced Tracking Protection, still can't enable notifications log: https://paste.debian.net/plain/1391196

Hi, Facebook says my browser is not supported. And before say it was not up to date. Tried to download update but didn't know how to do the update. Not sure what to do? I am using Zorin OS 15.3. Don't know much about it

I have Marionette mode enabled to be able to remote control my Firefox, but I have trouble with some sites who believe I'm not human.

If I enable Marionette, then go to this site, I can't get past the Human verification.
