Firefox Windows Browser 94.0.1 will not work properly with Ebay Selling Tools. Particular problem is that when I try to do anything with a Listing Template to sell an item on Ebay, when I save the item, the page just spins. (attached). Microsoft Edge works fine. Lot's of suggestions to disable enhanced tracking protection, but that does not make any difference.

Hi, I just downloaded Firefox to my Mac. Everything is updated. The browser works like this:

I type in a URL.

First, a full-screen pop-up window that asks me to install an Add-on. (I read the Info - looks like an advertisement? - What is this? - Is this Normal? -Is this going to happen all the time?

Next, a series of "redirect" URLs flash across the search line...

Next, I end up at some completely random site.

So, my basic question as a new-to-Firefox user is, as politely as possible, WTF???

My first experience of Firefox...Do I feel safe? NO. I looked at the Help/FAQ section and, apparently Firefox Support hasn't encountered this issue?

I've been forced to jump into forum discussions to make it work. SUCKS. So, is it malware that was downloaded with Firefox? I don't know. Should I toggle something in about:config to "true" or to "false"? I don't know.

If this "redirect" feature is just part of Firefox, PLEASE just tell me. I'll use a different browser.

why do I get multiple parentbuildID processors running in one session? It makes me worry (on this windows 7 machine)

I understand childID1 and up. On release 94, the parentbuildID numeric values are the same. Change my 'WHY' to just "Is this normal and OK?"

Here go again... I have repeatedly asked how to disable Firefox updates as each and every update introduces errors which require many hours to resolve. The only valid answer I received indicated that only business users are allowed to prevent updates so help would not be provide. Despite me being an adult and a business I still have to waste many hours nursing another sick update. So, now once again, after update 94.01 has been forced upon me and now running noticeably slower, I have had to readjust everything back to how I want to use as the update overrides everything (which I have been told should not happen but does every time) I notice the new tab no longer allows opening into Google. I am using 'New Tab Homepage' and 'New Tab Override' plugins. Does anyone know how to fix this update issue, or is this another error introduced by yet another dodgy update that we have to hope will be resolved at some indeterminate time? A simple way around this would not be to update, but that requires assistance that is denied.

I have an online subscription to a local newspaper, The Des Moines Register. I do the Jumble puzzle everyday. I don't know what I did but now, when I open the Jumble page to print it, a second later a second page opens with the about:blank in the address bar at the top of the page. Before I could click on the print button, a print window would open, I'd click the Print button and the page would print. I'm not even able to press the print button before the about:blank window opens. Is there anyway to suppress the about:blank window from opening every time the print window opens on this website: https://desmoinesregister-ia.newsmemory.com. I know you probably won't be able to get to the page but perhaps you could point me to the probable causes of this unwanted behavior. I did something to cause this behavior to start occurring and now I can't figure out how to fix it. This is the only site I experience this problem.

Hello there

I have a small NAS with various video files on it. Some AVI which work flawless but also some MOV which show but do not play audio.

Other chromium based Browsers manage to do so without any problems therefore it should be possible somehow.

Informations regarding the file: Filetype: MOV Codec: MP4 Base w/ AVC ext (ISO 144496-12:2005) Channels: 2 compressor: sowt Sample rate: 48khz Depth: 24bit Bit rate: 16

It was recorded with a Nikon D3200 camera.

As I am hosting these Files for other people I always get requests on why it does not work in Firefox.

I love Firefox and I want People to use it but such things just make in unnecessarly hard to do so.

I have experienced great business support from the Mozilla team, hope this to be true for home users too.

Thanks beforehand and have a nice evening.

Hi!

Restoring a session from backup should not be so difficult, and information on how to do so should be updated with every release, as the method seems to change with almost every release.

My specific problem is this:

I had a configuration with 3 windows and multiple tabs spread across them. I inadvertently closed one of the windows (Firefox did not ask the usual question about whether I really meant to close 37 [or whatever the number was] tabs).

Naturally, I want to recover the window.

How can I accomplish this? Is it even possible?

As a follow-on to my query about restoring a session after inadvertently closing a window, I suggest the following:

Have a "Restore Session" menu item that offers a configurable number of previous sessions, with a summary like this for each choice:

3 windows

  Window 1 - 69 tabs
  Window 2 - 31 tabs
  Window 3 - 28 tabs

You could pop up the summary for each session as the user hovers the mouse over it.

It would also be nice to be able to get thumbnails of each restorable session, perhaps by right-clicking on it.

Firefox have extremely complicate bookmarks, difficult to create settings and specially to sort. Why? this have no reason to be and this is very simple to resolve. This is the ONLY reason why I do not use Fire Fox as my primary browser. If I have no needs to save bookmark I will use if not, I have different options. WINDOWS developed very effective tool bar since windows 95. With Explorer we all know for many years the tool bar have "File - Edit - View - FAVORITES - Tools - Help" And NOW with "EDGE" Microsoft screwed as usual once they perfected toolbar. Many times I can't find where it was saved. The Settings is a long list of nothing. WHY Firefox do not take opportunity to recreate something similar, after all Microsoft retire theirs Explorer 10 version 21H1 - 19043-1348 The goal is to make easy to use even if technology is "OLD". Sometimes a product was developed years ago so perfect that will stay as "gold standard" Do you want an example that you use everyday without thinking of it? light switch is over 100 years old no changes because is perfect. Thank you for your time in reading my suggestion. Lucas

Saw a post stating that Firefox updated and now doesn't work with Sandboxie. I spent over a year learning how to update Firefox in order to use it within Sandboxie and with Webroot protection. I can now update Firefox within 5 minutes by following these steps. It is not really ready for publication but maybe it will help you. I copied this from Excel and it is more readable in Excel. Please forgive typos.

To copy from Excel, I had to make it a bulleted list. Each bullet point was another line in Excel.

  • After many tests here is the cleanest way found to update Firefox. Changing steps or the order may work only to fail later and sometimes leads to reinstalling and re-configuring Firefox. Suggested steps can probably be ignored but I think they are appropriate and help keep the system clean.
  • Note: I only run a single version of Firefox. When updating, no applications are running in a sandbox.
  • Clean Firefox Sandboxes
  • 1. Suggestion: "Terminate All Programs".
  • 2. Suggestion: Initially "Delete Contents" of all sandboxes and then the sandbox used during installation.
  • If Firefox does not open. This can occur during update, install or even days afterwards, check Webroot:
  • 1. Follow instructions in section "Clean Firefox Sandboxes"
  • 2. If Webroot is open close (not shut down) and reopen.
  • 3. Webroot > "View Status"
  • 4. Click "Settings" for "Identity Protection"
  • 5. Select tab "Application Protection"
  • 6. Ensure all "Firefox" applications "Allow" enabled.
  • Note: While I have had seven entries, once this process was learned there has never been more than one. My Wife's computer has had two. The most common second entry is the temporary Firefox update folder "...\updated\firefox.exe".
  • To remove "Firefox" entries, other than "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox", Perform the following for each entry and do so one-at-a-time.
  • FYI: "...\updated\firefox.exe" is created during download and deleted after Firefox has been restarted.
  • Warning: Even if an entry can be set to "Deny" and have Firefox executed. Leave it disabled, rather than deleting, until you have your settings, plugins, favorites, etc. documented and you have the time to reinstall. Very early in the learning process I had to reinstall. Since the bulk of these instructions were created I have never had to reinstall.
  • 1. Close Firefox
  • 2. In Webroot set the entry to "Deny".
  • 3. Open Firefox
  • 4. If Firefox fails to open set the entry back to "Allow", "Clean Firefox Sandboxes", and reopen Firefox.
  • 5. Any that can be set to "Deny" without causing Firefox an issue, *should* be deletable.
  • Before using Webroot set FF to "Check for updates but let you choose to install them". Avoid problems that require an uninstall of FF.
  • Close all Firefox windows
  • For the purist restart the computer before and after an application update or install
  • Suggestion: Perform the section above titled "Clean Firefox Sandboxes"
  • Shutdown Webroot
  • If updating (not installing)
  • Sandboxie: Disable Forced programs
  • Immediately start Firefox
  • Ignore Sandboxie and "Webroot Filtering Extension" messages
  • Click "More" (3 horizontal bars)
  • Select "Help"
  • Select "About Firefox"
  • Click "Update to <version number>
  • Click "Restart to Update Firefox"
  • If installing
  • Install (Do not configure Firefox until it is working with Webroot and Sandboxie both running; preferably after completing this process)
  • Ignore the "Webroot Filtering Extension" message!
  • Continue from Updating or Installing
  • Close Firefox
  • Sandboxie: Disable Forced programs
  • Immediately start Firefox
  • Do not close Firefox until instructed (After Webroot has been restarted). This eliminates a later step.
  • Ignore Sandboxie and "Webroot Filtering Extension" messages
  • If Firefox has an issue at this point it has nothing to do with Webroot or Sandboxie
  • Fix the issue and Restart at "Continue from Updating or Installing"
  • Suggestion: BEFORE restarting Webroot.
  • Cleanup Firefox as much as possible so it opens cleaner and faster in Sandboxie
  • PS. I do this every time Firefox is opened unsandboxed (e.g. when Bookmarks added or settings changed)
  • More > Settings > Privacy & Security (or enter address about:preferences#privacy)
  • Close tabs other than Settings. (There should only be one.)
  • In "Cookies and Site Data" click "Clear Data" (Leave everything checked) Click "Clear"
  • In "History" click " Clear History" > Select "Everything" and Leave everything checked > Click "OK"
  • Restart Webroot
  • Ensure all Firefox entries are "enabled" in "Identity Protection" settings. (There should only be one, but there have been more.)
  • Close Firefox
  • Close, not shutdown, Webroot
  • Perform this section until there are no more issues including the appearance of "Webroot Filtering Extension" (usually twice)
  • Open Firefox
  • If Firefox does not open perform the steps in "If Firefox does not open". Note, some Firefox processes do start but not all.
