I have satellite connection to the net and have a daily allowance for downloads. Had trouble finding the slice of my daily pie this might represent. Thank you in advance. john hosford

The open box for download says this is a binary file(???) DO you want to save or cancel? I click on save (my only choice or cancel) and nothing happens..Shouldn't I get a box that says do you want to open from here or save this file? Anytime I download something there is always a choice to either open file or save file Why am I seeing binary file and what does that have to do with downloading the new fire fox 4?

I also tried starting Safe Mode and disabling add-ons. No joy. Several attempts and downloading and installing had same result over a couple of weeks. All other computer functions ok, Firefox 3.6xx works fine.

win xp, compaq1.26Ghz athlon, 768m ram, FF3.6 latest update.

started today after the firefox update. I have bookmarked sites I visit regularly. Fast browser search redirects away from one site today. I checked the permissions, made sure results are Not filtered, still redirects. Disabled then uninstalled the fast browser add-on, still redirects. Restarted computer, same result.

My computer running XP crashed, so I bought a new one (Win 7). Not a big deal, because I keep my data in an outboard drive and backup regularly.

I want to restore my Firefox bookmarks, which ought to be somewhere in my backup sets. Problem is, I don't know what to look for.

I've found a couple of files named Bookmarks.html, but when I look at them they contain only the basic bookmarks contained in a fresh Firefox installation.

I know my bookmarks are somewhere in my backup sets, but where?

What filenames do I need to look for?

When I download executable files (such as an upgrade for Firefox), a box appears that asks what I want to do with the file: Save or Cancel. There is never a Run option. Why?

Every time I download something, I need to use Internet Explorer.

when using a web based mail server, in order to create a mail, or reply, firefox opens an additional window for the purpose. However, the window opens but with nothing present (i.e. no content, etc). How do I ensure that when this happens, the windoe opens correctly.

i am having a pc with specs amd phenom 6 core 3.2ghz 4gb ram xfx ati radeon hd 5770 1gb and windows 7 sp1 ultimate 64bit genuine fonts eg:in facebook and all pages google etc are blurred...and not readable.firefox 3.6 is working perfectly also firefox 4 beta2 was working fine.. wat may be d problem..its definitely problem with firefox,as internet explorer,safari,opera hv no problem at all

Latest update says it won't run on my Mac (see question above) and current latest compatible version (3.6.17) will have full tech support for only a limited time now. Is there anything I can do to bring my Mac up to spec. Is it really a dinosaur already? Will I be able to run FF4.0 (or later) at a later dater date?

I have Windows 7, 32 bit. My laptop has 2 GB RAM and an Core 2 Duo processor.

I was getting on fine with the last version of Firefox, but after upgrading to Firefox 4 today, my laptop's fan comes on just about every time I load a new page or open a new tab. Memory usage seems very high compared to what it was before, it's at around 250 MB right now with just two tabs open. I am thinking of going back to an older version, I'm just not happy about this.

My wife uses facebook. One day she was looking at some pictures on the site and right clicked and accidentally clicked on block images and I can't seem to figure out how to get it back?

This happened once before and I think it was right after an update. One day it worked, the next it didn't. I found out how to fix it but it's been so long I can't remember. I seem to remember having to change something in "settings" or something to that effect.

I use the + button to open tabs multiple times throughout the day. But as of today, it does nothing. No messages pop up, nothing. I don't know why it's doing this, and I deleted every add on and such that I don't use anymore to try to eliminate the problem, but it does not seem to be working.
