firefox 16.0 behaves as you would expect with slackware 14.0

is there a fix for this regression

My CA certificate has been imported into Firefox for ages. I had no problems opening my secured sites. After upgrading 15 to 16, I started getting untrusted connections warnings.

since upgrading to firefox 16.0 the option to accept a certificate anyway when present with a "This Connection is Untrusted" message by firefox has disappeared. There is now no way I can actually continue to the web site (https) in question. there should be a button to "continue anyway" this behaviour is on winxp sp3

on linux (slackware 14.0) the site opens fine without any certificate warning or complaints.! on winXpsp3 with firefox 15.1 site opens fine without certificate warning.

The speakers on my laptop work fine, outside of any browser. However, in either FF or IE the audio volume is stuck at barely audible, even though I have the volume wheel set at maximum. I am in a Windows XP environment, using FF 16.0.1.

Or, since both have security problems for OS 10.5.8 that Apple refuse to acknowledge (their way of forcing us to upgrade - very Microsoft-esque!), should I just switch to Safari or Chrome, both of which I hate. I really want to stay with Firefox. How much of a security risk is it? For comparison purposes, how much would the upgrade to 10.8 cost in the US (I live in Ireland), please?

Cox.net is not that great. I go through Firefox to get my Cox emails. Can I use Firefox as my email provider ( like wirukado@firefox.net) for free and still keep Cox.net until all friends know new address? Cox email forward lose formatting and all photos don't forward, fonts and colors change!!

Yesterday my Firefox was updated to version 16.0.1. Then I realised that my awesome bar's dropdown became blank - it does appear, I can see the icons of the suggested websites, but there's no text next to the icons. Apart from this it works ok - when I use the arrow keys to select an option the url appears on the bar itself (but still not on the list). Does anyone have the same problem or is it just my firefox?

I installed the Anti-virus program AVG not too long ago. When I open up Firefox (I have the default homepage, the one with a search bar under the Firefox symbol) and search with the search bar, It uses AVG Secure Search. I would like it to search with Google. I tried installing and then uninstalling AVG Secure Search, that didn't work. I even tried uninstalling AVG itself, but when I clicked uninstall nothing happens. But I'd like to solve my searching problem first. Please help me!

First tab says congratulation Firefox is updated, I already know that, now it opens this tab each time I open my browser. Second tab is some sort of addon checker thingy.

Thought it might have happened with the upgrade to 16 from 15, down graded, happens there as well. So now back to 16 and still have the problem, except now I have this first tab opening as well.

Any attempt to use "google" within Firefox 15 or 16 on my laptop returns a page full of symbols. All other pages and sites that I visit work just fine. The kind of symbols I see ...a subset of .... are pasted below

Using Win 7 64-bit. Everything suddenly disappeared from firefox except the URL line. When I ran a checkdisk, there was corruption in a bunch of files. May have caused the problem. Went to try the mozilla support reset suggestion. Can't do it because I have no Firefox icon in top left corner to click and thus can't get into Help menu or anything except what I can access through the URL line. Can't find any other advice on what to do. Is uninstalling Firefox and starting over the only answer? Won't I lose bookmarks, add ons, etc? Thanks.

The notice is a window that appears while I am in Google. The title is "Browser settings change" below, along with the yellow triangular [!] warning, is a choice: "Keep my current settings", or "I am aware of this change and approve it" Regardless of any choice, clicking on the [Yes] button has no effect. Neither will clicking the [X]

I don't know what this means or how to remove it.

Done total uninstall of Firefox 15.1 on other computer which runs windows vista 64, went back and doubled checked everything to try and make sure system was clean. Also went into system and checked there before installing Firefox 16.1 that I download from Mozilla. After installing checked to see if 16.1 was installed and seen the box showing restart to update. So I did and still the same sign was there. Done 3 installs since then and all the same. Checked on line for problem printed out a lot of help but still have the same problem. This is the same problem that I had with 15.1, but not with 15. Where do I go now? out of ideas .

I'm using Firefox 16.0.1. Currently the tabs for the Firefox windows are on the toolbar line just below the "File/Edit/.../Tools/Help" tool bar. Using the Customize function, how do I set up Firefox so that tabs for the Firefox windows are on the bottom line of the tool bars?

I maintain a diary in local weekly files that I am converting to HTML5 from XHTML. I wish to extract all the "articles" about particular topics from these files and display them in different orders. It is possible to load an XHTML file using the loadXMLDoc function described at http://www.w3schools.com/dom/dom_loadxmldoc.asp but the same function detects a parsing error when it reads an HTML5 file. (For example, the parser expects an empty element's tag to end with />). How do I persuade Firefox 16.0.1 to use an appropriate parser?

I just updated to Version 16. Is there any way of getting Version 15 back again? I find that the address bar highlighting (which I use frequently) was much better in Version 15 - and also the padlock was easier to find. If I can go back to Version 15 again, please provide me a link.
