Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I Have contacted NextDoor about this also, but in my original FF profile there was a login issue, after trying to reset my password, the NextDoor login screen comes up blank white. If I make another FF profile, It comes up with the NextDoor login screen, and if I start FF in troubleshooting mode NextDoor comes up and I can login. Any idea how to rectify this. I cleared cookies, cache and browser info, to no avail, even start up cache in the troubleshooting. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. how do you disable or unreaveal when the mouse hovers over the task bar (search bar) at the top while in full screen mode (f-11) to me this annoying when the mouse enters that section of the screen. chrome does not do this. Is there a way to toggle off a switch in a setting? if not, can one be added.

All of a sudden, my Yahoo Mail Contacts doesn't load. The following is the error message where my contacts should be listed. How do I fix this? Thank you

when my Firefox window is active on Macbook Air Sequoia 15.7.3 if I open a second app, calculator for example, the Firefox window reduces in size and snaps to the side of the screen. I want that behavior to stop. I want the calculator to overlay the full size Firefox window. How to achieve that?

I used Pocket for a while. It was excellent since it allowed taking a webpage and converting it to a document that could be copied and pasted to Microsoft word. This allowed further analysis and work on the contents of the page and was extremely useful.

Now that Pocket is gone is there another extension or a purchased extension that does the same thing on the present day Firefox.

I presently use Windows 7 and Windows 10.

When opening the "Show all history" window (command Y) the text is garbled. I have checked the font book and there are no duplicated and I have validated all fonts. I have tried using the troubleshoot mode and occasionally the text is rendered correctly but mostly it has no effect. There is no other location in the browser where the text is garbled. I have tried changing the text in the advanced settings and both performance settings are disabled.

When you roll (minimally) the mouse wheel, up or down, while using Google Sheets in Firefox (only!), it sends you all the way down to the end of the sheet. Do it again, and it won't move from that position. I have been asking this for a while. Seems like a minor bug, but it's PRETTY annoying for those of us who have the use of the mouse wheel as a second nature. So please, PLEASE, PLEASE , fix the bug!

The recent update 149.0 introduced a new look to the error pages. Every single time the requested URL does not exist, a page's servers are down, or your internet is turned off, it shows an image of a fox biting a power plug. The image is no-connection.svg located in omni.ja (chrome://global/skin/illustrations/no-connection.svg). Such a location rooted in the files cannot be zapped by uBlock Origin. I tried to replace the image inside omni.ja using 7-zip, but it can't do so because the Mozilla Firefox folder is Read-Only, and keeps turning so despite me unchecking the Read-Only checkbox in properties. I tried looking for a variable in about:config, toggled svg.disabled from false to true, it didn't help. My goal is so that only text appears on error pages, and no images, like it was in the previous update. Ideally I would like to have the option to completely eliminate corporate artwork from my copy of Firefox. Help would be very much appreciated, because Firefox is my favourite browser by far

I'd like to make it so every time I click a link to navigate a certain website, it opens in a new tab. I don't want every link I press across the web to open in new tabs, just this one site. Can't find any settings or extensions for this, but it seems like something someone must have made. Can anyone help?

Search Suggestions stopped showing up v149 desktop

yah all of sudden no search suggestions are showing up in my search bar, i have Show search suggestions and

Show search suggestions in address bar results both selected too, and only have Google for a search engine.

I have also tried in no extension mode, and still doesnt work

I need help with annoying pop-ups. I followed instructing. It only say allow, not block, when I go to settings, security & privacy, checked block pop-ups and third party redirects.

Firefox you can't X out the location services and it won't go away. It covers everything. I don't want to make a decision, I'll do it on my own terms when I feel like it.

Other competitors allow it, why not Firefox?

I want to upload the current version of Firefox. However, the system Administrator (who is me) will mnot allow me to do so. How do I change settings to allow for the upload.
