What is it about YouTubeTV in Firefox that breaks my ability to control playback? I can click with mouse, but shortcuts ("Play (k)", "Back 15 seconds (j)", or "Forward 15 seconds (l)") stop working repeatedly and I'm forced to go back to using my mouse (Wacom Intuos Pro M). This doesn't sound like a big deal until you're forced to watch an offensive "My Pillow" ad or worse, and I can't immediately stop the playback of these radicalized terrorists. Or if while watching a DVR recording, it stops allowing me to skip thru commercials, or pause playback without picking up my pen (mouse) to get back in control of the 'playback' features.

Strangely, this never happens on YouTube videos/content. Those same controls ('shortcuts') work fine there.

Starting with Firefox 113 (on Debian Linux), every few days Yahoo mail stops working properly: I can read emails but hitting any action of them, like Reply, Move, Delete, does nothing at all.

I need to clear cookies to get this operational again. This doesn't happen on chrome on the same computer.

The only add on I have is an adblocker, disabled for yahoo mail. This problem also happens with enhanced tracker protection turned off.

Hello! When I try to log into my Microsoft 365 Outlooks, I get the following message:

'Your browser is a bit unusual...

Try disabling ad blockers and other extensions, enabling javascript, using a different web browser or turning off your VPN.'

I did go in and turn off the ad blocker. I do not have a VPN, and I could not find anything about Javascript on the Preferences page.

Please let me know what to do so I can log into my email.

I use the closed captions (CC) in YouTube videos with FireFox. Lately I have been seeing videos that seem to misbehave. At the very start of the video, ALL the captions display at once, one after the other. Then, as play continues there are no more captions. Most videos still show captions normally, that is, captions appearing only when the dialog matches them. But a few videos misbehave by showing all the captions at once. Here is one such video.

I noticed this misbehavior within the last month and assumed that the video was doing something peculiar with the timing of the captions. But when I use the YouTube Show Transcript option to display the captions and associated timing outside the video, the transcript looks quite reasonable.

One further oddity, if I take that same URL and load the video in a different browser, for example, Chrome, the captions are displayed normally.

Hello team, hope you're doing well. I purchased a new laptop recently(HP Omen 16 with RTX 3070Ti). I installed Kali OS via VMware, which runs on my host machine(Windows 11).

Everything seems to be working fine in Kali, except when I try to play any video via Firefox Browser, it lags a lot and is very choppy. At first, I thought it was the issue with Kali hence, I reinstalled Kali and tried again. The issue still persists. I then did a clean Windows 11 install and tried everything again right after Win11 was set up, but I still couldn't find a solution. Tried all the methods which I could find online, but still, nothing worked.

I tried again, but this time with Windows 10 Pro on VMware. The issue was resolved and everything worked perfectly fine when videos were played on Microsoft Edge.

I've installed the Firefox browser on my host machine, and everything runs smoothly on my host machine(Windows 11), but the issue occurs only when videos are being played in the Firefox browser via Kali on Vmware/VirtualBox. I had asked many known people, but none of them have ever faced this issue with Firefox to date. Neither did I with my previous laptops. This is the first time something like this has occurred.

Issue: Any Video, from any site, when being played in Firefox Browser via Kali OS in Vmware/VirtualBox lags a lot and it is super slow(even when the video speed is set to normal). The audio that comes out from each video is like a robotic voice and it is super slow and laggy.

Kindly help and I really hope that we can resolve this issue!!!

Firefox is Generating Error Messages. I use a password manager and know the correct ID and Password is being used. Twice recently, I have had to resort to Microsoft Edge to get around denial of access by Firefox. What do I need to do with Firefox to eliminate the denial of access of a website?

Recently something changed. Used to be that opening a tab presented a horizontal mid-screen array of icons of URLs. Handy. Don't know the lingo. They've been transgraded. Be nice to get them back.

Windows 10 desktop. Latest Firefox..

As many others have said (however those posts are locked so i cannot reply) Firefox seems to randomly lose the ability to save shortcuts, (by dragging from the address bar) to the desktop.

Restart a few times, wait, random things, and it comes back next time you try... been bugging me for years. Seems to occur when firefox has been running for some time with lots of tabs open. As others have said, it displays a little "NO" icon (circle with a line through it) when trying to drag the URL from the lock or favicon section of the address bar, to the desktop. Other times it works fine.

I searched a bit, but perhaps someone has another idea on how to fix this permanently, or how to recover from it without restarting the computer. Firefox version is 110.0.1.

PS. I would re think the idea of archiving posts. Because its nice to be able to reply to old posts, even if they are "solved". The original poster may have found a solution and never posted about it, for instance.

some websites load in private but not normal browser. i have tried in safe mode with no addons still no luck, ive tried a few odd and end things to get these sites to load with no luck. any advice would be great. i do not get any errors the websites just stop loading or playing videos.

i have a question about feature in firefox, that is auto sleep tab. that's what i call it.

let me tell you first to get better understanding. so i'm work as a vendor for my client. and to connect to my client environment, usually i used remote desktop connection. there is firefox too but a little bit different. in remote desktop firefox, there is a feature auto sleep tab. so tab that hasn't been accessed in a few minutes will going to sleep state. but it's different with my local firefox. no matter how long I do not open the tab, it never goes to sleep state. i'm pretty sure i'm using latest version and same type of firefox. but why that feature doesn't exist in my firefox?

Am using Mozilla Firefox installed via flatpak on openSUSE. Certain pdfs display correctly but other pdfs displayed with Firefox (either locally or online) are displayed badly: spaces are replaced with a lower half block character, fonts not sharp. I installed Firefox from the openSUSE repos (not from flathub) and opened the same pdf and it displayed correctly. I downloaded the pdf and opened it using Okular and no problems. I also opened the “troublesome” pdfs on Firefox in Windows and it displays correctly. I conclude that the flatpak version of Firefox is causing some pdfs to display incorrectly but I don’t know why.

I installed flatseal to tweak the flatpak Firefox’s settings but nothing seemed to fix the pdf display issue. Please see screenshot below of how Firefox (from openSUSE repos, on the left hand side) and Firefox (from flathub, on the right hand side) display the same pdf from the internet. Not sure why some pdfs display correctly in Firefox from flathub and others display incorrectly. I’d prefer to use flatpak’s sandboxed Firefox if possible. Is there anyone else with the same problem or someone who who found a solution to this issue?

Long story short I've lost about 30-40 tabs and can't get them back. What happened was that my computer was being strangely slow, so I opened task manager to close some stuff with one of them being firefox. I had about 6 windows open, 2 of them having a lot of tabs, the other 4 only having a few. Reopened firefox, click restore previous session and only 3 windows reopen. I've never had this before and am scrambling to try to fix it as the tabs/windows that did not reopen are the ones that were actually important. I've tried to use the scrounger thing that jscher2000 has suggested and haven't been able to find anything (I don't know much about code tho so could probably be missing something). I don't know what to do and am panicking a little as like I said, those windows that did not reopen were important. I'm trying to figure out if firefox saves older versions of the session restore .jsonlz4 files (besides the .baklz4) but they seem to just be overridden/deleted. Is there anything I can do or am I just screwed? Also recently closed windows and tabs options are empty when looking at the history tab, which has also never happened. New update today so could it be that that has caused this problem? Finally, I've looked at the Import and Backup -> Restore option, which has worked for me once when something similar happened, and between Saturday morning and now (Tuesday), there is nothing, which is odd as I close out all my tabs every night and this morning everything was restored perfectly. Yesterday is when I opened a lot of the important tabs for the one window, so could there be some kind of glitch occuring there? Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Not noticed before but when I right-click on the Firefox icon in the task bar, it pops up a list of recent browsing addresses, especially the ones that have started off as a i-click, browser tracking or whatever. I didn't think that they should be there as I have selected "always use Private Browsing" and my history is not being saved, or so I thought. These are active links. Clearing history, inc data and cookies doesn't remove these links. Nor does CCleaner or Bitdefender remove these. I want all history and cookies deleted when I exit the Browser. Apart from removing them individually by right-click, what do I do. It seems that Edge does the same on my partners laptop

Storage seem to be broken in general, although the problem has morphed with my bad troubleshooting attempts. This problem started ~last week (or ~two months after I switched OS from Windows to Garuda Linux, a variant of Arch) and has progressively gotten worse.

Initial problem: Privacy Badger errors and says storage is broken. Putting `navigator.storage.estimate()` into PB's extension console leads to a quota of a large number, and a usage of 0. Pandora.com then logs me out, and doesn't allow me to log back in. Console reveals it's an indexedDB problem about storage quotas. Many websites are forgetting tokens - I'll log in, and then 15 minutes later, log in again. This happened on Discord, Fastmail, and this support forum (in fact, I couldn't log in on Firefox here. Had to use Chromium). Bitwarden's extension also errors, although this one doesn't directly mention storage and instead says that the sync is out of date directly after syncing. Alright. (If I had to guess, the sync process no longer can write to storage so it's stuck with an old sync).

OK, this is odd. I load back the profile directory I still have saved from the last machine. Still symptomatic. Maybe it's a permissions problem? I run `chmod -R 777 ~/.mozilla/firefox` and relaunch. Still symptomatic. I nuke my firefox directory entirely, reinstall firefox (switching to For Developers) in the process, reimport my bookmarks, and run chmod again. Still symptomatic. Alright.

Maybe it's a problem with my extensions. I really, really doubt that, but maybe. I restart into troubleshooting mode. The problem still exists, but when I go back my bookmarks and extensions are gone.

Problem as it stands now: Pandora.com still logs me out, but I can log back in. Sometimes. It just doesn't remember when I relaunch firefox. Along the way at some point, visiting about:support now shows nothing. As in, when I press "copy text to clipboard" this is the report I get back:

I see the error of "database or disk is full" - however, my disk is new (6 months old) and is literally 95% free space (see attached screenshot). I'm out of ideas, so hopefully someone else has more.
