In version 98, a change was made so that the download panel always opens every single time any file is downloaded. I have found that I never, under any circumstances, want or have ever wanted this behavior, nor do I ever ever serendipitously benefit from it. It is continuously annoying. How do I defeat it?

I've set custom fonts through Settings > Fonts > Advanced, but the fonts I have specified are not being used on any websites even if I uncheck the box that says "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above". For example, I've set the default sans serif to Source Sans 3, but websites use Arial regardless of the settings. The only custom font I've gotten to work is Segoe UI (the UI font on Windows); all other just fall back to Arial. The problem persists even if I disable all extensions/add-ons. I'm also experiencing the problem for non-Latin scripts; I've tried to set the default Bengali font to Noto Sans Bengali, but websites are using Vrinda instead.

I'm running Firefox version 120.0 on Windows 11, any help is greatly appreciated!

I have enabled the "Reduce motion" in macOS to limit animations when using app exposé or switching between desktops. Firefox seems to read this option from the OS and limit its animations, such as the loading animation shown next to a tab description when loading a window.

Is there an option to ignore the OS settings and enable all animations in Firefox?

My computer froze opening an pdf file. I had to reboot. When I did I lost my compressed zip folder ? it is not in my content type under applications. How do I add it back ? Help ?

This was my fix for scrolling not working when hardware acceleration enabled. Upgraded this software product: X-Mouse Button Control (of Highresolution Enterprises) to latest release 2.20.5

I got help with this from your group some weeks ago, but I had to reinstall my Ubuntu OS (linux v.20.04.4 -- using firefox) recently and can't recall the answer.

When I view a WikiSpecies list of file names (e. g., see https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Pentatominae), the instances which have been installed but never used should be in a different (reddish) color. I am attaching an image of a page containing a file named "Abadia" (first one on the left, just under "A") which is unused. I also am attaching an empty "Creating Abadia" which is the result of clicking on "Abadia".

Please tell me how to change the image of an unused, empty file. I recall that there were two different choices SOMEWHERE in the system, "Always" and "Never" I think: One of them forces a system-level color pattern which includes reddish unused items; the other allows the used to program arbitrary displays such as the above (typical example from the dconf editor is 'bg_color: #f0f1f2; selected_bg_color: #023C88', but this editor does not change the appearance of a file instance.

New user here. My web search results dont fill the screen, they always require scrolling down to see the whole page at once (as designed). why are the top 2 bands 3 times as tall as the font in them, they use up valuable space. see snip insert below. i have trouble enough with windows 10 without squinting and all this needless scrolling down looking for the rest of the buttons. I use LastPass and its truly infuriating how big the boxes are and how hard to find the information, particularly the "go" buttons. TYIA Shandy

As from v100.0, Firefox allows users to "set their preferred color schemes for websites".

Ironically, this does not addresses complaints from users, including me, who wish for a consistent Light theme all across Firefox.

Even if "Web site appearance" is set as Light, the following still remain dark:

• Background of main drop-down menu (Containing "Sync and save data", "New tab", "Print", "Settings", etc)
• Background of right-click menu (Containing the refresh icon, "Save page as", "View page source", etc)
• Background of "Please enter primary password" menu
• Background of auto-filled user name and password menus
• Background of elements in a bookmark folder
• Background of Downloads menu
• Background of Print menu
• Background of "Clear all history" menu
• Background of "Find on this page" menu
• Background of "You are about to close X tabs" warning menu
• Colour of title bar for "About Mozilla Firefox" window, when the window is not currently active

Being able to set "browser.theme.toolbar-theme" permanently as 2 would fix all of the above, but users are still (Note: Since v96.0, when this complaint was raised) prevented from doing so. Why?

It used to be possible to set the colour of a container to black, although I can't remember how I did it: I think it was somewhere reachable from the preferences page. Facebook container still sets its colour to black on installation, so the black colour is still there, but I can't set black colour for a container in the Manage Containers dropdown.

I'm running version 8.1.2 on 115.3.1esr (64-bit) for openSUSE Leap 15.5 (and it would be much easier if I could copy this information from the Help-<About page). </p>

After a recent update, all the functionalities in the menu bar be it the add-ons drop down menu,the downloads section and the open application menu run in light-mode in my otherwise dark configuration.They are an eyesore to open and work with,I've tried to tweak the settings and reinstall the themes but nothing helped.Any fixes?

Hi, i have problem with uninstalling uBlock Origin i cant remove them from extension tab. I tried refreshing firefox, reinstalling, opening firefox with troubleshoot mode and still nothing i dont know why is so difficult.Even when i reinstalling firefox this addon onstalling by itself even when im not logged in.Please help me. When starting Firefox I used to to see my "BBC NEWS" home page at that time. Now when Firefox starts I get "Sorry can't find that page". If I select "restore previous session" I get the news page from the last session not the current news ! Is there a cure for this ?

Firefox updated (to v116.0.2),-- BUT THE PROBLEM RETURNED after I exited Ff and then rebooted it.

"Settings" Home page Startup is "New Windows and Tabs" (Firefox default)

This is so strange.

My Screenshot Icon in FF 120 is gone. Tried adding it back, but it's not there under More Tools -> Customize Toolbar. Overllayed Firefox with a new install - no change. Disabled/enabled extensions and themes. No go.

Am I the only one? Any ideas?

I have the option set to always ask me if I want to open a pdf with browser, acrobat, or to download. I usually select open with Acrobat and, for the last few months, I have been getting an unwanted download as well. I found in the help articles that this is now the default action. For me, it usually means that at the end of a session i have to go to my desktop (my optioned destination for downloads) and clean it up by deleting every file I have looked at.

I recommend that you make that functionality optional. I just want to view the vast majority of things I open. For the few that I might want to download after viewing them, i would prefer to take a proactive step to download them after I have reviewed them.

Hi, Could someone tells me how to deactivate the startup popup upon each firefox start which says (translated) "thanks this is 100th version of firefox, start navigation", or is it to stay until the 1000th annniversary ? Thanks
