If I want to change whether cookies are enabled/disabled on Firefox, must I sign in to Firefox and then change my settings, or can I just click on the Firefox icon on desktop, open application and change settings from drop-down menu without signing into account?

I have Firefox set to disable cookies. Yet, websites often say that by using their sites, I'm agreeing to the use of cookies. It's unclear to me if by continuing on their sites, I'm thereby temporarily turning my "disable cookies" Firebox function off. Here is a screenshot I took of what I see when I use "storage inspector" under "web developer" menu while I'm on Firefox and I visit one of these websites that says by being there I'm agreeing to the use of cookies. Please tell me ... in this case are cookies being used? I don't know how to interpret what I'm seeing on "storage inspector." I don't know what the lines, rows and the values in them represent. I have cookies-blocking enabled through Firefox. Often, when I go to websites, I'll see banners that indicate the sites use cookies and that say by clicking anywhere on page, I am agreeing to the use of cookies. When I click on the page and keep looking at it, does the page indeed apply cookies to my computer/my work or do my Firefox settings prevent this from happening?

Haven't been able to stay signed into online accounts like YouTube and Google accounts when I restart Fifrefox. The reason I am going to the trouble to post about it is because it used to work no issue. It gets me thinking if Google must have changed something in their policies recently to make this so difficult, like it just denies Firefox's anti-tracking features and stuff.

Here's what I already tried doing: First turn off cookie auto delete for a sec, then see if Fifrefox is deleting the cookies I need in settings. Then finally, check to see if enhanced tracking is deleting the cookie (so I disabled it for Youtube and accounts.google.com for the time-being.) Still no luck with staying signed in after all those tweaks.

Last you might be thinking that this may have somethiing to due with Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) 2.0 in the recent FIrefox update but the thing is, I started having this issue before the new update. I've scoured the settings in Firefox and am out of ideas. Perhaps somebody who is more familiar with the settings could point me in the right direction?

There is only one last thing to mention: I do use DNS over HTTPS with a custom provider. Is it at all possible this brings complications with it? Maybe I didn't have the right idea about it when I added it.

I have been using the browser Ecosia (you should too), which is essentially a web browser that plants trees as you search. The problem is that it would normally save the amount of trees that I have planted, but because Firefox clears cookies every time I close, it resets every time I close the browser. I know that I could just not delete cookies, but I would really rather not.

I searched online and it happened to others so I tried many things : - deleting the cookies.sqlite from the profiles folder in appdata\mozilla - repairing mozilla firefox - completely uninstall firefox and re - install after deleting remanent files

What is the best way to find out why a set cookie isnt working? a request sets a cookie for a full domain .google.com for example, but it doesnt get sent on subsequent requests for a subdomain. is there any logging or error message in firefox to figure out why some cookies work and and some dont? when i look in the application tab i dont see the cookie either.

I am very keen to avoid cookies being stored on my computer and have checked the box that says "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed". I have no "Exceptions". I also have "Strict" tracking protection - again, with no Exceptions. Yet when I open a particular bookmarked website (www.bikemap.net), Firefox displays the page showing the bike route from my street to my friend's house that I looked at weeks ago. This even happens when I open the site in a New Private Window. I am baffled as to why this is happening and what I need to do to stop it. Can you help, please? Thanks.

It is possible to clear all the cookies from a website in Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox In my case, I would like to clear only authentication cookies (to be automatically disconnected when I close Firefox) but I want to keep the other cookies about my preferences. However, I can select on which websites I want to clear my cookies but I can't select which ones.

Is there a way to select the list of cookies I want to keep/clear for each websites?

When using an internal website I usually get an error when using Firefox:

Bad request Cannot parse token. root cause: Unable to decrypt bytes [ (then a bunch of numbers).

If I clear cookies this then it works for a while. If I use Chrome or Edge it usually works although sometimes I get something similar. The IT chaps insist it's a browser issue(of course). I'd rather not have to keep clearing cookies - any thoughts?

Very often I need to delete cookies from web sites so the sites won't remember me. The cookies in private tabs never show up in "Privacy & Security / Cookies and Site Data" (so I can't delete them from there), and they don't go away when I close the tabs or windows. It seems that I can only get rid of them by shutting down Firefox - a horrible solution when I have many other tabs and windows open.

I can't believe that no way exists to delete cookies (and local storage) in private windows and tabs. Does anyone know some way to do that?
