Mozilla websites leads to Firefox (35.0.1, Windows 7) message that (up to date!) plugin is blocked

There is a long discussion on bugzilla (follow https://blocklist.addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/blocked/p428 to the link to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636633) on blockage of the Java plugin.

According to that (now closed for comments) thread, the bug is long time gone. However, Firefox still decides to block it by default.

Surprising, then, that a page used for checking plugins (https://www.mozilla.org/nl/plugincheck/?utm_source=firefox-browser&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_campaign=plugincheck-update) uses this same plugin which then of course is blocked.

Suggestion: do one (or both) of the following; 1) Stop blocking the plugin by default, or 2) Stop using the plugin on Mozilla's own webpages.

Kind regards, Roel

Firefox (35.0.1) has objected to me using Adobe Flash and Java, and automatically disables them. It says I can update on the plugin page, but when I'm there the little thinking circle never stops going round, and I never receive a list of plugins, or options to update. I *have* found this issue in another question, and that answerer suggested they update Flash directly through the Adobe website. I did that--to 16.0.0.305, but Firefox (which I restarted) behaves no differently. I would have simply added on to the question I already found, but the support system does not allow me to comment on other posts until I've made one of my own. So here is my somewhat redundant, but frustrating, issue. Thank for your help!

I am having a problem on my Win8 machine tonight, I see the check function running and it doesn't stop. It is not a connectivity issue as I was able run this function tonight from same home network on my Mac OSX 10.9 that didn't have Adobe Flash with Firefox latest version.

Technical details: Win8.1 Firefox 35.0.1 Adobe Flash Player 16 NPAPI v16.0.0.305 Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.250.6 Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U25 6.0.250.6 (Disabled)

What I've tested so far: 1) Started FF in safe mode, tried plugin check, results never loaded 2) Removed extensions, tried plugin check, results never loaded 3) Permitted Java to run on this site, results never loaded 4) Verified Adobe Flash is functioning versus http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ 5) I usually keep Adobe Flash security permissions locked down as much as possible, so things can't put crap cookies on my machine without explicit permission. I've tweak various settings to make the security level more permissive. Plugin check still didn't work.

What are the minimum techincal requirements for the plugin check feature to work? If this is indeed an Adobe Flash issue, why does this feature work on the Mac that doesn't have AF installed, but not on the Windows machine? What more detail is needed from my end to figure out what might be happening?
