If I remember, there was a McAfee Web Advisor icon on the top right of the Firefox browser, just to the left of the "hamburger" icon. But it's not there, it disappeared. Yes, it is enabled, and it is showing in Chrome. So where did it go and how do I get it back?

I want to do not see this small button on each tab in Firefox. Is it possible without addons? I remember that in the past there was an option in about:config for that purpose but I failed to find it now and do not remember how it is called. I don't need this close-button because I managed to close my tabs using various other ways: by Escape, by double left mouse click to a tab, by double right click on web page (everything using AutoHotkey).

After clicking the button for the download destination nothing happens and reacts anymore and I have to kill Firefox. The dialog for choosing the download destination won't be opened. (Winodws 8.1 Home 64bit)

IE 11 works well.

Everything has vanished. I've tried all suggested fixes. I even deleted Firefox and installed again. I continue to get the same error msg..."the bookmarks and history system will not functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. I currently run Windows 8.1 on my laptop. I upgraded to Firefox 73 a couple of days ago, and now when I open Firefox, I immediately get an error box and the message that "Firefox has stopped working". I have uninstalled Firefox, rebooted my laptop and reinstalled Firefox, but get the same results. I also uninstalled 3 Microsoft KB updates that ran on the day that Firefox initially failed. Hi. The attached "authentication required" popup occurs intermittently in the Firefox browser. I have no idea what it is referring to. Clicking cancel removes it. It does not appear to interfere with any Firefox operations. Would just like to know what it is about and how to prevent it from appearing if not necessary. Thank you in advance for any assistance. After Firefox let me know it is working slow on my computer I let it clean automatically. Result: an add-on 'Search by Image' doesn't work anymore. A pop-up appears; 'Content scripts are not allowed on this page'. How can I fix this problem?

and then I have to start again using my account for synch which a mobile phone (there I never have problems). But why is it resetting by itselves now last time yesterday, first after weeks and then shorter and shorter. I am a great fan of Firefox already using it for 18 years now but this is anoying as I not always has that mobile close to me and therefore all history/accounts are temporarily gone.

every time when I am on my Facebook acct browser gets too slow or it does not load the content of whatever I want to see and on top of the screen under the command for Facebook a yellow strip appears and it says A PAGE IS SLOWING YOUR BROWSER.. I have this problem for a few months already and what I do is close the browser in all windows that open and re initiate the whatever I want to see after I closed all tabs on the browser

I realize that there was a section on how to disable this. but if i were to go to Yahoo for example and scroll down a page with a video in it. It starts to auto play and be in a little view on the side and becomes really annoying as i don't want it playing or coming up like that.

Is there a method to fully disable it from auto starting "wasting bandwidth" and from being on the side like that?

For the past week, on every start up, Firefox requests to do an update. I agree, but if I shut down and then restart later, it asks the same question. On and on for some 8 days now!!!!! How do I stop this?
