Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I have windows 10. Every time I download a file and then go to open it, I get "File Download-Security Warning" this is new and never got that before. How do i eliminate the warning . This only happens when using Firefox..Chrome works fine. I have tried everything and changed more setting in the registry that i can count and have asked Perplexity and Grok plenty of questions with no positive results.

i have been using the old yahoo for years and now it seems they changed the layout to resemble google. it sucks. if i wanted googles layout i would use my google email. if i use this term https://mail.yahoo.com/d/settings/1 i get the old yahoo setup screen and then i have to click return to mail and the old screen stays until i either restart the pc or restart fire fox. i do not see in fire fox setting an area that lets me put in a startup term like chrome has that will restart yahoo in the view i like. being that view is still there.

Firefox says that it blocked known fingerprint trackers from two sites that I really do not believe had them.

If I go back to the sites later and check, it says they have no trackers. I don't really understand how this works but if they have trackers wouldn't Firefox have to keep blocking them?

I asked AI: "I'm being prevented from using options which cause pop ups but I don't think I've deliberately changed any settings. I want to use "analyze the board" on the Gameknot website but I'm being prevented from using it. How can I get it back?" I followed the instructions: "Mozilla Firefox: Click the three lines (top right) > Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions. Go to the "Pop-up windows" section and click Exceptions, then add https://gameknot.com" but I haven't re-acquired use of the pop up I ant to continue working. I want it back and its extremely irritating as the work around is very long and boring.

Every time I open Firefox, the checkbox next to "Opening links in tabs" always disappears, even though I've checked it in previous sessions. How can I make it permanent?

I use Firefox on the Linux Mint operating system.

Is anyone looking into this? I found an article that told me to remove some cash files and it seemed to fix the issue but it continues to reoccur. Some apps such as MS360 Outlook seem to trigger it, but if it was truly just a corrupt cache issue then cleaning the cash/profile once should have fixed the issue. Instead its become a constant pain in the *** and I'm tempted to find another browser. Seems very recent as well as I've never had issues with firefox before.

I'm on arch linux and sometimes my firefox search bar suggestions are just gone. When I type a web page that would be auto filled normally I don't get anything. This has happened to me a few days ago for the first time but I was able to restore the functionality by completely wiping my install, reinstalling, creating a new profile, disabling sync, restoring the old profile, enabling sync again and a few other steps I really don't remember anymore. This issue also does not allow me to save pages to my bookmarks anymore, no matter what I try. I really don't want to do the steps I listed above every few days so I just wanted to ask, what could possibly be the reason for this.

Please help, it looks like my passwords are not synced anymore on any Mozilla I use. I sue a Mozilla portable at home and a classic desktop on my office. The synchronyzation works for bookmarks, browse history and download history but not a single password is imported on my sessions ! My files are present : see screenshot01 so my passwords are here. Unable to upload camera photos stored on my laptop to Facebook and WhatsApp in last one week . I tested with images that had been successfully posted earlier, but they are also failing now. Interestingly, the very same images can be uploaded without any issue when using Chrome.

На втором скрине поменялось положение выскакивающей поисковой строки, она ушла выше на 20-30 пикселей

Hello Firefox support. I'm having trouble joining meetings in calling applications where I stream my screen from my laptop. I tried several different applications on my Windows 10, and unfortunately, in the Firefox browser, the audio doesn't work at all in various different applications, which reveals that the problem isn't the app. I couldn't find help in Mozilla support, so I'd like to know how I can stream my screen (either full screen or in browser, etc.) along with the audio so that everyone in the meeting can hear the sound of my computer. Since around April 2026 , the "Show in folder" option (in "Display the progression of ongoing downloads") does not work anymore when a file is downloaded on a NAS drive . I use a Qnap TS-231P NAS .

Firefox VPN has completely disappeared. Last week it was installed in my browser. Now it has completely gone. It no longer shows up on the tool bar. I can't even click on it to reinstall it. I found the same question asked by another user, but the so-called answers below his questions were useless. They told us how to install it. But it is impossible to install it if the invitation icon is gone.

Today, after the last update of the software, I lost ALL my tabs (2 years of materials) and there was no way to recover them. Furthermore, I had to spend hours to retrieve at least the most important tabs I use for work.

This is not acceptable, please fix this issue and make the recovery of tabs possible and easy.
