How do I set up private browsing and avoid browsing history
I have the remember history setting on and all of this only started happening when I logged in to my Mozilla account, then all this began to happen.

Hi all -- I have to admit that I am pretty frustrated after Firefox instituted the change to how shortcuts on the homepage operate a year or two ago. They used to be so reliable. Now frequently accessed websites are often missing or there's one row instead of two (despite being set to two obviously).
This is such a basic and important feature. It would be nice if things returned to working flawlessly.

There use to be within SETTINGS a click/link to restore previous tabs...Who's responsible for dropping that? I'm using 135 Version, and I knew I shouldn't have done the update, damn....I've got enough problems with Win 10 and Office and I don't need this aggravation.... Also my firefox icon/tile/shortcut in my taskbar has changed from firefox icon to being a white folder with top right coner folded over.Anyone have any ideas whats going on.

From time to time I can’t clear my Firefox history. I try from the menu, then within the settings, to no avail. I restarted Firebox and even my Mac, and the history remains. I used CleanMyMac to empty the cache and the history is still there.
My Firefox: 147.0.2 (64-bit) My Mac: Sonoma 14.8.3 (23J220)

Didn't work. Uninstalled it again. In the reinstallation I asked that it NOT import my settings etc but it did it anyway. Back came Firefox, complete with my history! I just can't get a fresh start. With regret, I'm starting to use a different browser. I dislike doing that but at present I have no choice. Whenever I use Firefox, I just clutter up the place and can't get rid of history.

I have always used the option to restore previous tabs on startup. This stopped working a few days ago. After digging into it a bit I discovered that using the ctrl+shfit+q command is the only way to shut down firefox and get my previous session restored after.
I have changed no settings and afaik nothing else has changed. This is wildly inconvenient when just the other day I could close it however I wished and come back the next day to all of my tabs without having to dig it out of the history of closed windows.
Why has this changed and is there any way to restore the previous functionality?
