Recently I've noticed that some web sites are displaying text in very washed-out colours or on backgrounds of similar colour to the text. This produces a low contrast ratio and makes the text very hard to read. I tried setting the text colour in Firefox settings, but this seems only to affect text where the web site does not explicitly set a colour. Is there any way to ovcerridethe web site's choice of colour?

The Proton VPN extension/add-on usage can override the Firefox language setting when it assigns a user to a node in another land. That land's language can suddenly become the default language one sees, and may remain in spite of trying to reset the Firefox language default. E.g., if one is assigned a VPN node in Japan, suddenly the general language one sees is Japanese, and it remains in spite of disabling Proton VPN and even after exiting and signing back in. The only alternative one has is to request a different node and then wait for the timeout (30 sec., 2 minutes, etc.) for another and hopefully understandable language/country node.

I raised this issue with Proton, and they maintain that loss of one's language proves that Proton VPN is working (see my response under ratings)

1. How does someone accept "working" VPN when one loses their ability to comprehend the displayed language? In my past experiences with other VPNs (NordVPN, etc.) they never corrupted my default browser language.

Unfortunately, Fusion does not work properly with the new Firefox. Firefox cannot be controlled using shortcuts such as H-headlines, E-input fields, B-button, insert+F7-link list, and insert+F6-heading list. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. I am able to access the site using another browser, so there cannot be a problem with the site itself. This situation has only existed since Firefox did an update. So, the problem must lie with Firefox. If it is not fixed, then I fear that I will have to discontinue using Firefox as my online browser. I use a screen reader and thus do not use a mouse. The only instructions in the mozilla knowledge base for how to generate strong passwords via the mozilla password manager are mouse specific. After much messing around, I figured out a solution.

Sorry to bore you with this seemingly banal question. I have quite bad dislexia, and although I have full type spell check on Safari, default browser, I cannot work out how to get it work on FFox. I include a copy of machine learning -the bit I'm struggling with: "You can check if a dictionary is installed and active in Firefox in two main ways: through a right-click context menu in a text field or in the Add-ons Manager" Or this freaks me out: "To get spell check working in Firefox, enable "Check your spelling as you type" in General Settings, then ensure you have the correct dictionary installed by visiting Firefox Add-ons and adding your desired language dictionary (like English UK/US) for spell-checking to function correctly in text boxes. I have tried to use my spelling abilities, especially in our #ClimateCrisisClub multiple online forums, without any spell check and it's slowing me down on wondering if the spelling is right etc. The letter positioning as words is ok, I can spot andcorrect, but again slows up. For a while now, Firefox and a few other browsers default my keyboard to navigating through web page items rather than typing letters when I click in the search bar or address bar. Then I have to click TAB (sometimes several times) to get the keyboard typing again. I have tried 4 keyboards total and they all act the same way but act normally on my Windows PC. I have done extensive investigating into why this might be happening and why its only happening in web browsers and have come up with nothing. I am using Raspbian OS on a RPi5 and have used it smoothly for about 7 months. This issue has slowly gotten worse until it is now constant. I reinstalled the OS completely and it stopped malfunctioning for a few days but came back in a hurry. I've come to you as a last resort. I am sure Firefox is not the issue but if you know of any possible reason why this might be happening and point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful. Thanks.
