Using about:preferences#privacy one can configure whether Firefox shall ask to store passwords. Is it possible to make this setting active only for some self-defined domains or subdomains?

Example

• Firefox shall ask to store passwords for all domains like *.mydomain.com
• For all other domains, Firefox shall never ask to store passwords

This is an annoying, but kinda funny, problem. Every time I try getting to a website that starts with "gen", I get this url, gentlemansgazette.com that shows up. I've tried "shift + del", I've removed it from my history. It isn't book marked. It keeps popping up and it's incredibly annoying.

Can someone here tell me how to fix this? It's above "suggestions" so its not a part of that, I don't think. I did include a screenshot but I'm not sure if its going to show.

So I would like to elaborate on my original query. When one searches for text on a web-page (ctl-f), all visible occurrences of that text (any case, any wildcard) will be highlited nicely. In the search bar at the bottom, you can click up-chevron, or down-chevron to have the page move-to and present each occurrence of that text nicely.

However, if you click a chevron, and that next occurrence of text is NOT presented (the web-page does not advance to wherever that text exists), then you know that occurrence of text is hidden, perhaps "in a frame" somewhere. Firefox does not highlite which frame. You would essentially need to click on everything that needs a click-to-open/expand, in the entire page, in oder for the Firefox search to then reveal that text.

That *severely* reduces the usefulness of Firefox's search a page for text. We are astonished that this issue has not been raised by anyone else (afaik).

How does one ask Firefox coders to take a look into this? Thanks again. Jason.

Often when Searching the contents of the current web page for text, some words are hidden or backgrounded, and not visible, as we cycle through the search counter.

Are you sure that these results aren't hidden because of search settings like "Match Case" or "whole Words" ?

If you use Quick Find then these settings are hidden and you need to open the Find bar via Ctrl+F.

If the results are in an iframe and aren't visible (i.e. you need to scroll this frame) then they might not be found.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

   switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
   do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

I've tried editing prefs.js, which made no difference. I've also noticed a prefs sqllite file, but I don't know how to unlock it. What should I do?

I'm on Linux, firefox 95 in case it matters.

Every time i try to log into pocket i get a error message "403". This just started earlier today 1-2-2022. The image upload / attach feature is not working either, it just loops.

I have today commissioned a new HP laptop running Windows 10.

I have downloaded Firefox and done a straightforward installation. I have viewed a couple of web pages but notice that when right clicking there is no longer a screenshot facility in the little menu box that appears. Trying Control + Shift + S does not work either.

I am writing this using Firefox 93.0 for Linux Mint on an old Toshiba Satellite and I have the facility - both right click and keyboard.

Has the facility been discontinued in the later version?

When typing, for example an email in office 365 webmail, approx 1 in 10 characters is missed. This happens in every session and after reboots. It doesn't seem to matter if i am typing slowly or quickly, and it happens in an incognito browser window too. I am certain that key-presses are being sent, they are just not reflected reliably in the browser. There are more than enough resources available for firefox.

Configurei e instalei certificado digital no linux com todas bliotecas mais recentes com dura pesquisa e tentativas. Estava usando firefox com certicado digital e dispositivo certisign. como tinha conseguindo instalar /usr/lib/libaetpkss.so.3 e tambem cadeias de certificados. Mas tive que formatar e reinstalar tudo e deparei com diversos bloqueios do firefox 95 que nao deixa instalar /usr/lib/libaetpkss.so.3 e nem memsmo nenhuma cadeia de certificado ICP-Brasil. Consequencia, esta versao de firefox esta inutlizavel para certificado digital no brasil. Tentei com plugin da Valid, Certising, Webpki. Inutil. Firefox agora nao consigo usar mais para certificao digital. Alguem conseguiu alguma forma usar do zero certificado digital no firefox 95 superior no Ubuntu 21.10.?

This is pissing me off so much! I'm working and in the middle of everything I have no other option than to completely restart my browser, which can easily resolve into losing what I was doing, not to mention that it completely kills my workflow. STOP DOING THIS! I don't care what the reason is, you're severely hindering the usage of the app. I will decide when to restart, not the app! I have a fresh start of my system every single day, I'm sure whatever unimportant update it was this time can wait a few hours.

For last fiew days I get a double prompt for primary password when I start a firefox session (on linux ubuntu 20.04). I'm worried if this is a bug or a troyan.

What can I do to find out?

Facing an issue with input tag when type attribute is set to 'number'. This allows me even to enter letters and special characters. Basically the check of type number is not working. Please look into this.

Attaching a screenshot of the MDN website. The input area corresponding to the type number allows me to enter the characters. You can see that I have entered '@!25'. Requesting to please look into this asap.

While startup of Firefox I'm getting the "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message.

All because Firefox seem to be too stupid to follow a correct symbolic link to place (on another drive) where the file exist and has propper permissions (is accessable).

Thereof, please notify the developers about the described above bug, that it can become quickly fixed. Thanks

I ASK AGAIN: WHY ARE THERE SO MANY USELESS GADGETS ON IGHOME PAGE?

THERE IS AN "ADD GADGETS" LINK THAT GIVES HUNDREDS OF BLANK AND USELESS LINKS.

WHY NOT ELIMINATE THEM ?

It works until I close the browser. Didn't there used to be a way to permanently store exceptions? Shouldn't the error be more visible for linked images?

I DID NOT FORGET MY PASSWORD AND I HAVE ACCESS TO MY EMAIL BUT MY SYNC INFO IS GONE. I have been using a live usb Linux system & sometimes 3 times a day other times 4 or6 days solid i boot i get online ten open Firefox activate my toolbar menu then open tools then sign in to Firefox and sync normal i get all my add-ons but last week i did this and got nothing, blank. FF. ACCEPTED MY PASSWORD but acts like i got nothing to sync and i have it on my android and wen i sync my phone nothing its lie 2 different accounts but i checked everything is right. i have read all the on line help but i dont see anything. im sorry but when i forget a password or cant get in to my email i do not try to get help i just deal with it and fix it. the only reason im trying to get help is i have relied on this service fo a long time and my bookmarks and most of my passwords i dont know. i know i can change them, and i know how and i have secondary emails and so on but my problem is why out of the blue fire fox has nothing to sync for me? my name is ronnie mattix my email is [email address] and i know my Firefox password but other than that i would have to change every thing. and i have not changed my Firefox password for 6 months or so. so what should i do? thank you for helping rm

Firefox is really, really insistent upon putting its downloads into /run/user/$USERID/doc/$TEMPID. If I select "ask me" then it puts it there by default and I have to struggle with that nasty directory selector app to choose another place. If I select "Downloads", then it puts it into that temporary directory anyway (neener, neener). I looked up a support solution and it said to fiddle the browser.download.scanWhenDone value. There ain't no such a thing. Perhaps that's Windows only. There is a value for browser.download.lastDir, but it is that TEMPID thing. Those directories are removed upon download completion, so that directory (and the file) no longer exists.

Okay. This whole thing is beyond my abilities to tame. My preference is "use last directory" -- but only if it actually remembers correctly. Otherwise, save into ~/Downloads. And for God's sake, *NEVER* delete a file that I've gone to the trouble of downloading!
