I have created the following rule in user chrome:

I'm really happy with this, except for the fact that it is visible all the time, so also in full screen.

Q: can I put a command in front so this hides in full screen? Been looking, trying for ages now.

Suddenly Firefox causes my cursor to disappear and flicker at times when inside the window. When it is in the browser toolbar like addressbar and etc. the cursor simply flickers but when in the main browser window it disappears

I checked a various things such as reinstalling, making sure that caret mode is off, safe mode, but it still occurs.

Firefox is my main browser and it is so hard to use it if I can't see my cursor.

I don't know how to fix this issue. Thank you for your help.

HI all,

I'm using firefox on three different pc and i have this issue only on this one. On booting i see in the task manager about 6 background process one of them uses 80% of my cpu (an INTEL 13GEN I7 bought a few months ago...) and never ends. When these tasks are running, firefox settings tell me something like (i have it in italian) "firefox update is running on another instance". when i stop them, this message goes away too and everything seems to work fine. It shows that i am fully upgrated!

i have fully uninstalled and reinstalled firefox 4 times, nothing changes. i noticed that on older pc i had the folder "mozilla" on the programdata in the main disk while here i don't. i tried, with no result, to uninstall, copy that here and reinstall.

Pls help me, i love firefox, much better than chrome

Videos on Firefox like YouTube videos and others look washed out like they've been put through a filter. When I play the page through safe mode it solves the problem. However disabling all my plugins, themes and extensions makes no difference at all! What other options do i have. I have deleted the app from my pc and reloaded twice and that hasn't changed anything.

Hi I use Firefox on 2 mac and 1 IoS device. The passwords or saved logins don't seem to sync across devices, even though they are all logged in via my account. Kindly advise.

After I log into my account on citi.com, I end up on https://online.citi.com/US/ag/dashboard. Even after the page is finished loading, and with a new blank profile, the CPU usage is very high. I purchases a new computer that had Firefox installed on it already.

After Windows 11 setup...

1st starting Firefox up I got a message saying:

The program can’t start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

After, it would load but, was getting every time I loaded it up or a new page: Gah. Your tab just crashed

I did all the solution I could find for Firefox crashing (plus more google results): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-crashes-closing-or-quitting

THIS DID NOT WORK!

But then I decided to focus on the VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing issue.

And here is what solved it for me:

1. Visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
2. Go to the section Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022, and download the following executable file: vc_redist.x64.exe
3. Install this file
4. Restart the computer and run Firefox

Issue #1) If computer is left idle for more than 15 min. and the browser is left open with some tabs when resuming to use the browser, it does not load pages any more and eventually times out. This forces to have to restart the browser each time after some idle time.

Issue #2) images do not load or only first couple of images load and then rest of the page images do not load. This is not related to security setting and so on since I have done all the obvious trouble-shooting steps already.

These are very frustrating issues and I am very close to switching off of Firefox.

My Firefox Home Page was perfect until I accidentally hit the Home icon or Most Visited. I had the Tab Page with one row probably with default colors. If I manage to get the New Tab Page back, it doesn't stay. It doesn't have an icon for Home. I can't get that page back. If I exit, it goes back to one of the support pages. I have done a reset Firefox from the Control Panel but that just goes thru the set up pages again. I am afraid to delete and reinstall because I don't know what will happen to all my data.

The problem is that I am severely confused. It pertains to at least Firefox profiles, and sync.

A little background: I have been using Firefox, happily, over countless updates, on a single computer, for maybe 2 decades, logging in to "shopping" websites (travel-tickets, government websites, blah-blah, so password memory is very important). Now on 113.0, on a Mac, Catalina 10.15.7

Recently, I've a need to travel, using a laptop. Linux, Mint, Ubuntu, various. Should maybe think about "Sync". Just care about logins/passwords. So signed on to Mozilla "Sync" (password safe on a bit of paper). What could go wrong? Not yet tried to sync to anything else...

Wrong. Firefox wanted to update to 113.0.1. Why not? Go ahead. I've 2 previous versions in /Applications. What could go wrong? On 113.0.1, Firefox warned me (in capital letters IIRC) that my bookmarks, passwords and history might be corrupted unless I created a new profile.

Perhaps because I panicked, I now have 7 profiles. Obfuscating slightly: blahblah1.default-esr-1 blahblah2.default-esr-4 orig.default blahblah3.default-esr-3 blahblah4.default-esr blahblah5.default-esr-2 and blahblah6.default-release

I have parked the 113.0.1 update in a holding directory, and continue to use 113.0. I've had to change some passwords, but the new ones are written safely (AFAIK) on bits of paper, or memory sticks.

How to sort this out? My super-duper backups have been failing for lack of space.

I appreciate (see above) that "Sync" is not a backup strategy. I THINK I know what it is intended. However the mere word "Sync" does not really cut it as a dependable specification. I've not (AFAICR) tried to sync this computer's firefox profile to any other. But I was in an extreme panic.

I depend heavily on Thunderbird. I'm hopeful that any false steps I take won't extinguish any remaining ability I have to communicate with the outside world. If this wail appears on your support website, that would be reassuring.

I'm trying to configure equipment on my local network. Some of the equipment does NOT support https. Firefox continuously changes the address http://192.168.xxx.xxx to https://192.168.xxx.xxx, and the connection fails!

I have tried the various options in HTTP Only Mode, including entering Exceptions. I have also temporarily changed network.trr.mode from 5 to 1 (and 0), but nothing is working!

What can I do?

Since your last update Firefox window opens too big for my Mac page so I cannot see/access my desktop files or the menu any more. Is there any way to make it smaller again?

For security reasons, when I long in to a Firefox on a different computer, which is not originally mine, how I should set a timeout on that log in? So in case, I forget to sing out, the firefox will sign out automatically?

I save all my passwords in Firefox and I would like to ascertain my privacy maintains.

My FF id gets logged out whenever I restart my computer, due to which all my sync data is removed from that system. My FF id is used on 3-4 systems and 1 mobile but never faced such issue. Also the said problem of logging out is faced from last 7-10 days on only one system. Kindly help me out in the same.

My profile folder get huge!

My FF gets slow, uses a lor of RAM & the profile folder size goes huge.

So, while trying to locate the folder content that can be deleted- I came across a folder named: "to-be-removed".

[ ... AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ <profile folder> \storage ]

1. What is the purpose of this folder? 2. Is it safe to delete all of it's content(to empty it)?

When I use CTRL+V or even right-click to paste any text, Firefox crashes and displays an error. My Firefox version is the latest, 113.0.1. I tried entering safe mode and disabling all plugins, but the error still occurs. I also tried reinstalling Firefox, but the issue persists. However, other browsers work fine. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Here is my error report:
