Hello world! Is there any documentation explaining if FireFox Sync is the best way to merge different computers and/or devices with different logins saved? And if yes, how to use it (which computer log in first, etc). Has anybody done it and can explain if in the process entries with the same URL were duplicated or if the newer login information overwrote the older one?

I have found this question ALL OVER the internet (phrased differently) and yet, NOT ONE OFFICIAL ANSWER or an unofficial one that actually answers the question. Many well intended volunteers suggest to export and import but then again, there's no information on how the process works. (Duplication or saving Account #1 Over Account #2 or newer over older, etc). How can we get a an official answer? I am sure the coders know how their tool works... why is it so hard to help so many people in need?

For users who have been using FireFox in different computers over the years, it's a VERY REAL problem. Right now, I have to switch between my different devices when searching for passwords as I'm unsure what the Sync would do.... We should not be sorry for having chosen FireFox over other browsers... The process to change email address requires a verification be sent to old email. That account is not active so no verification can be received. How can I change my email from the dead ([edited] @cox.net) to the new email ([edited] @mailfence.com)?

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I am quite a new Firefox user. I have set firefox to sync, but my saved logins and passwords on for example my PC does not sync to my android tablet or phone. How do I fix this?

how to remove an old account?

I can't logon due to setup Authenticator and I have no possibility to set-up it again.

I was able to change password, but I cannot logon. How to pass thru that step? I have confirmation email regarding two-stage authentication sent 29 JUN 2020 08:36AM, but I did not save any data for recreation of Authenticator setting (eg QR-code image).

Is there any way to recover my original login? I have recovery code (if there is a possibilty do switch-off second stage)... I might recover my account.

Up until mid-November 2022 approxmately, I was able to open multiple synced tabs by holding down the Ctrl key. The synced tabs would then open in new tabs in the background, while the menu would remain open.

Since an update, the behaviour has changed, and opening a synced tab now automatically closes the menu, which is most annoying, as when I change computers, I most often have several synced tabs to reopen, not just one.

browser.bookmarks.openInTabClosesMenu=false does not apply to the synced tabs menu, and I was not able to find any other option that would help.

browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground=true does not help either.

What am I missing? As far as I can remember, it worked out of the box until a few weeks ago! (the menu would not close upon opening a synced tab in a new tab, holding down the Ctrl key). The issue appeared after a Firefox update on my 4 devices.

I usually sing in/up several websites & extensions like workona , linkdin, quora , udemy etc but after turning off my computer or closing firefox, & returning on new session, the tab logins automatically restores & I have to login again. How to fix it ?

When I attempt to sign into my Firefox account using the authorization code that was sent to my Gmail account it says "working" below where it says "authorize this sign in" and this goes on indefinitely without completing the sign in.

Why is this happening and what's the remedy?

Dear Firefox, It is a matter of great regret that your popular browser has failed to sync back my saved bookmarks and other data once i reinstalled firefox. This issue is not new as it happened to me before.. Last time I didn't bother as I thought this might be an bug but today once I reinstalled firefox and signed in.. It seemed that firefox has yet once again failed to syn all my bookmarks, data, extensions etc... It is a huge pain as I cant keep on repeating myself to save all the extensions and preferences.. please solve this issue or I wll have to seek other browsers

When I try to sign in with my email, it tells me: "Primary account email required for sign-in." But I'm signing into my account with my primary email, I checked, since I can still sign in on my iPhone. I don't know how I'll be able to get back into my account, please help.

Note: It's been an issue for months and only happened after I changed my primary account email.

Previously access was denied 2 log in 2 xfinity on Firefox browser. Reply 2 post gave me a different log in . It worked. After I got email from u "Your Firefox account was used to sign in Chrome on Windows 10 Boardman, OR, United States (estimated) IP address: 52.32.111.255 Wednesday, Dec 14, 2022 2:52:14 PM (PST)". This isn't me, but I logged in at the same time. Did Firefox mistake my log in? When I attempted 2 change my password, it wanted 2change the password 4the spammer. I couldn't change MY password. I didn't use Chrome, I don't have Windows 10. I have Windows 11 and I am not near Boardman OR.

I have been using firefox for quite some time, and have bookmarks and addons saved to my account. I just recently had to restore windows on my PC, and in doing so, seemingly lost my whole profile. I also have firefox on iOS, and all of the bookmarks are saved there, apparently on the same account I am using to sign in on desktop. I have tried to force the desktop version to sync, but it says it has fully synced and none of my stuff is here still. Is there a way for me to import the profile from iOS or something?

The Update to 108.0.1 succeeded, but the partial process for "sync" still shows as partway. Must've clicked that item by mistake, and then killed it after seeing the scope--since I don't use a smartphone., etc., anyway!

We should be cautioned that this 108.0.1 upgrade is a complicated one. At midnight I just wanted to do a SIMPLE update (release notes listed just one item), shut it off and hit the sack --not be swamped with all the myriad new choices and features to learm! --as I now see.

As per the subject. Had to reinstall Windows 10 on my machine cos of a glitch. In the past, never had a prob with Firefox syncing to a new machine, but it didn't this time & I can't work out how to do it??

I've been using FireFox for a long time. My account is installed on two computers. The operating system of one is windows 8.1 (from work) and the other is windows 10. (from home) On December 7 or 8, 2020, my login list was suddenly deleted while I was working on my account with windows 8.1. I turned SYNC back on, but I couldn't get any of my recordings.

When I opened the same Firefox on my windows 10 computer at home, my login list was erased in less than 5 seconds.

I followed all the procedures on your help page. My login list is automatically erased when SYNC is on. I tried many times. It automatically erased my login list that I created from backup every time SYNC is on.

I request your help from Mozilla and Firefox authorities and review my account if necessary. I would like to see and use my November 2022 login list the same way if possible.
