I recently joined some hideous dating sites and then decided very quickly they were not for me - I deleted my accounts - yet these hideous sites keep opening up tabs on my Firefox by themselves - advertising their sites. They just don't want to let you go after they get your information and are super aggressive about their lame products. I have emailed them - spoken to them on the phone - deleted them manually from my browser history - have listed them in the Firefox BLOCK section (Privacy and Security) - and yet these God damn sites keep opening. So I am assuming adware infection (although I have no idea?) I am not a computer wiz - I work on the computer and know my programs but do not know much about how the computer functions. Does anyone have an answer on how I can PERMANENTLY eliminate these horrible sites forever. I just want them gone - gone - gone - they are annoying and time consuming to keep deleting!!! I have used Firefox for a zillion years and have always liked it - but if I can't get rid of these insidious sites - I will be forced to change my browser to one that actually protects my machine after I use their system tell it to do so! Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks so much - appreciate any help on this!

Whenever I close a tab or group of tabs, Firefox ask me if I want to try the new feature to re-open them. I click "No", but it will ask again the next time that I close a tab. How can I disable these prompts to try new features once and for all?

I am developer. I created the sign up form, when I am using Mozilla. I faced this error:

message: "Request aborted", name: "AxiosError", code: "ECONNABORTED", config: {…}, request: XMLHttpRequest }.

I checked it with Chrome and it works very well. It seems Mozilla has issue.

I can stored my data into database using Chrome. Therefore, I suggested you for developing purposes, never use Mozilla. Unless, you have solution.

I closed my browser and a "new version" of Firefox was installed. MY ENTIRE HISTORY WAS ERASED!!! I CANNOT "RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION".... I AM N O T HAPPY! WHY WOULD YOU DO A THING LIKE THIS? GET MY PREVIOUS SESSION BACK AND ALL MY HISTORY! THERE ARE OTHER BROWSERS.... I HAVE USED FIREFOX FOR YEARS AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE BEEN ABSOLUTELY ENRAGED! I for the past number of years have been able to connect to Clockify and can no longer do so because of the following error message. I need to use this app every day, and really am angry that I can't use it anymore on firefox. How do I get around this issue?

Mozilla opens a random page without me doing anything. Page doesnt download all the way because i think ether avast or windows firewall blocks it. Has anyone found a solution to stop this from happening. I have done a deep scan incase of a malware and avast found nothing.

'Tried to fix extra large text on windows 11 issue. followed directions on support and went to advanced preferences. Now text is so small I cannot read it. This is on a new computer. Please help Need to get back to the original set up

I have Firefox 50.1.0 on openSUSE 13.1 Linux (KDE desktop). This is the last update from openSUSE, but is now deprecated by some websites. I am reluctant to download a recent Firefox version without knowing in advance that it will work under SUSE 13.1. I am familiar with 13.1 and reluctant to update that, merely to run a new version of Firefox, as it will create complications with my multi-boot system, which includes a MSDOS 6 partition for legacy software (it took me ages to get GRUB configured to load that reliably and I'm not sure I could do it again).

Please advise what is the latest version of Firefox that will run under my elderly version of Linux and how to obtain and install it (I am not an expert Linux command line user). I am using Firefox 106.0.3 under Windows 7 to send this to you (multi-boot system), because I could not sign up with 50.1.0.

Just now, as I was in the middle of something, Firefox popped up a usage tip about tabs. I find this disruptive. Is there a way to turn these off? If I want to know how to do something, I'll look in the help.

It's fine when you create a new feature to display a tab when I first launch after an upgrade, or to have the Help menu show a Latest Features item, but please don't interrupt my work with pop-ups.

For the moment, I don't see anything in Preferences about this. Is there an about:config setting I can add to suppress this feature?

My Manjaro is XFCE Desktop. Firefox Netflix subtitles were extremely small (unreadable). I just inserted a different desktop "Gnome" on the same Manjaro installation. It is the same Manjaro installation on the same computer but a different desktop I was playing with and I can switch between desktops. The problem disappeared with the Gnome desktop. Going back to the XFCE desktop the problem was still there. I never came across the relationship of the desktop to this problem in my readings. With Google Chrome on the XFCE the subtitles were readable. This is not a problem for me since I could use Google Chrome even though Firefox is my Browser of choice. For some things I must use Google Chrome like my US Army retired finance because Firefox is not recommended and doesn't work right. I do not like that the email address needs to be signed into to change things on Google chrome. On Firefox I just have to establish a local password. I am providing this for your information because I am able to use the computer to watch Netflix on my Manjaro XFCE setup. This information may help someone to find a solution if they are interested. I am going to have to see if there is some package that I can add to XFCE to correct the problem.

Firefox 106.0.1 (64-bit) my notebook is a Dell Vostro15 3000 with Win.11 pro (version 21H2) The Yahoo mail tab, which I have always open, keeps closing unexpectedly but I can't figure out if this happens with an exact action of mine. I believe it closes either when I read a yahoo mail or view an attachment, but also randomly even if I am visiting another irrelevant page on another tab of Firefox, when I suddenly discover that this exact tab (yahoo mail) has been closed. This never happened on my previous NB with win 10. Is this a win 11 problem?

I've finally moved from desire to concept/name for a website I want to start. In the old days I had a couple of different sites through EFF in its infancy when it furnished this service and I knew the administrator personally. I then used a couple of different services such as GoDaddy (have no current domains registered). Can anyone direct me to a) a good place to go, b) where I should be asking this question instead of here  ??

I'm asking here because my computer guru of 30 years (Gale Rhoades) has passed away and I can't ask her anymore. She trusted Mozilla 100%. I am going to need help with docking(?), and with some kind of formatting/template system. The site will be a place for me to share my life hacks as late-life autistic with massive experience in low/cost-effective DIY health, gardening, fermentations, household management, companion animal management, crafty solutions, and all around life hacks, not just for autistics but for anyone. I know this is niche, but I just would like to get my knowledge base out of my head because I really do have a lot to share. If it could possibly generate some right-livelihood inputs that would be great but that's not my main goal. My main goal is I will die and everything I know will be lost, and what I know has been hard won and worth making available. I've worked with computers from the mainframe days, but I've never learned code.

All thoughts welcome on how I might proceed. Again, please direct me to a good place to ask/discuss.

Hello, i have a problem with my account information. The story is that i reinstall my PC i tried to log in my firefox buy it turns that i forgot my password. So i change it at 12:31 on 1.11.2022. So at first time i didn't saw anything wrong but when i tried to look into one saved password it turned that i do not have any. But on the are there. Can you fix this because all my bookmarks passwords are there for years i have been with this account and i do not want to loose it.

I write in Scrivener and copy/paste into Google Docs for editing. In every other browser, this is no problem. In Firefox, my formatting (mostly italics) is lost when I paste. I've tried messing with the paste commands and had no luck at all. I tried copying from Microsoft Word to see if the problem was on the Scrivener end, but the same problem occurs. I need to open Chrome to paste my text into Google Docs, which keeps the formatting, in order to work around this problem. Does anyone know why this is?
