My Firefox account and associated passwords were left open on another notebook. I have now changed my Firefox sync login password from a different PC and signed out of other devices. Can a user on the previous PC sign in with a password that is saved in Firefox?

FireFox Developer 99.0b8 (64-bit) on the "aurora update channel" on Windows 10 PC (version 1803, build 17134.2208)

I notice whenever an update is pending (the green dot appears in the icon for the "Open Application Menu"), FF becomes unresponsive in a way. When it happens: It does not totally freeze. I can select/switch between existing tabs & scroll thru their pages. I can close tabs. I can open a new empty tab. But I can't load or refresh any pages. The only fix is to do the update, and re-launch.

Since the developer edition gets updated frequently, it is a pain.

I like the Developer Tools! But... How can I scale back the FF "update frequency", or "change the channel", so updates are, like monthly at most?

I don't know what this is, what it's called, or why the someone in your UI/UX team continues to think that it's a good idea to change the keyboard navigation in the browser with all these new, special, or whatever controls that are ultimately useless.

How do I turn this off?

Long story short: windows update sneaked a restart under my nose caused me to lose all my previous session.

I'm attempting to recover the previous session.

I have backed up the unmodified session profile folder. But this profile folder was modified by the restart process obviously, as windows gave firefox "normal shutdown" command. How do I know that? The next time I opened it up, it's "brand new" without the "restore session" interface.

So my idea is to figure out if firefox keeps a track record of previous sessions EVEN IF THE SHUTDOWN WAS PROPER.

If it does, well I'll have to figure out a way to "trick" firefox to restore it. If it doesn't, well I'll have to manually restore it by sifting through the history.

I repeat, the key here is for me to find out whether or not firefox always keep a record of previous session somewhere.

So my question is, does it? Or does it purge all the previous session clean as long as the shutdown was deemed "correct"?

AdBlock has not made any updates for Firefox for eleven months. Do they just not care, or has Mozilla rejected them? The internet is terrible enough as it loves to scam all users on all sites.

I developed a web app that checks the existing session login for each new page. So, after logging in the first time, the user is shown a dashboard with a list of functions they can access (My Account, etc). When an item is clicked and the application calls the function, it first checks for the existence of login session. If it's not there, then the user is forced back to login screen. However Firefox is deleting the session at some point so when the session is checked for the new function, the user is forced to login again. Chrome, Safari, Edge do not and are fine.

Enhanced tracking is turned off for the site and is shown as an exception. What is happening and how can prevent it?

Before the release of Firefox 99, the drag and drop function of e-mail using OWA (Microsoft Outlook) stopped working. In the last version of 99, it started working again (and I was very happy). My browser just updated to 100 and it stopped working again (and, of course, Firefox recommends not downgrading).

This is getting very frustrating, as I use Firefox at work and it is actually a lot of time wasted, going in and attaching files without drag and drop. I am on the verge of abandoning Firefox as my browser, since these features work in both Safari and Chrome. However, I do like the usability and security of Firefox, so I am hoping you can fix this very soon.

Hello. I just wonder why firefox connects to bookmarks url's right after you open firefox? Opening page is always set to:about:blank. I discovered this when I want to know some netwrok traffic from my laptop and I wanted to know which software causes that traffic. And then I noticed that only open firefox it takes connection to bookmarks url even it does not open any web pages - because the opening page is about:blank

As practically every other Firefox user, my bookmarks evolved into a lengthy file system that uses folders to segregate categories of bookmarks.

That is, it used to have this feature.

After the last update all or most of the bookmarks (I can't tell by scrolling down the long list) are devoid of their organizing folders. This puts a great deal of information beyond easy reach. In Mozilla Help topics one is advised to click on the library icon in the toolbar ... only there is no such icon on my copy of Developer's Edition.

Can someone suggest a method or methods to recover the folders?

Some passwords have been lost as well.

I don't know why the page https://encuestas.msssi.gob.es/limesurvey/index.php/438579?lang=es is marked as insecure in Firefox. I tried in Chrome, Edge, IE... and the page is marked as secure, the certificate is recognized.

My bank has recently switched the position of 'online' and 'bank name' in its login URL. How can I delete all history for the old URLs (e.g. Bankname*) without deleting history for all non-bank-related URLs?

I have 2 instances of Firefox: I use stable for all my professional work, and I use Developer Edition (Aurora Channel) for personal things. The stable branch works fine. In Aurora though, certain key combos will not work. This even persists in troubleshooting (safe) mode.

Specifically, it seems anything using both ctrl+alt will not register alt, only ctrl. alt, alt+shift, and ctrl+shift all seem to work fine, but ctrl+alt and ctrl+alt+shift do not. Again, this works fine in stable, so I am clueless as to why it doesn't work in my other instance.

Another detail is that this happens on multiple websites, not just one. The post prominent one is Google Sheets. In sheets, you can insert the date using `ctrl+;`, the time using `ctrl+shift+;`, and both using `ctrl+alt+shift+;`. Inserting them separately works fine, but both causes only one to insert.

I'm running Firefox Dev edition and I cannot get it to load any pages except for Mozilla pages. I have tried all the fixes suggested there and it still refuses to connect. I'm at my wits end. Any hail mary optoins or do I have to reinstall and start again?

When I bring up Google Maps I put the address in and Firefox shows an error message. This has been happening for a couple of months. See Error Message below.. Google Chrome has NO problem pulling up the address. How can I fix this? Thank you.

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY - Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (Firefox-Mozilla kinda encourages using their tools to block cookies, which I much prefer), and I CANT FIND WHERE TO ALLOW (not yelling its just that I said this before and it wasn't noticed) cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences all I could find was under privacy & security cross-site cookies but that did nothing) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to try (I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! I did get the following reply, saying to allow cookies (BUT I DON"T KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO DO IT) and something about a new browser profile and to stay out of my sync account, and I APOLOGIZE, but I have no clue what all that means. What is a broweser profile, what is a sync account and how do I stay out of it? I guess well I know i'm not too smart about this kinda stuff, so I apologize but I think I need detailed step by step what to do to fix this. I know thats a lot of typing, sorry.

I just got a new to me computer and it has Firefox 125.0.3 (64bit) but I was more comfortable with what I had Version 124.0.2 (64 bit). What would be the downside of changing to what I had? I just use it for home use and browsing. How would I go about making that change. I'm not to knowledgeable about computer language and stuff. Thanks, Larry

There's one specific field I fill in very often and for some reason Firefox is really keen on suggesting me two searches that I looked up more than a couple months ago, on a totally different site. I can't even remove these suggestions or add new ones. When I used Vivaldi, it'd learn what I insert (even if it'd end up suggesting tens and tens of options), while Firefox doesn't learn at all.

For sake of an example, let's say that the word I use every day in this field is XYZ. Not even once was it suggested to me, I've only ever gotten the two in the screenshot below instead. And I can't remove them using the Delete key as some other article suggested.

Speaking of which, I just noticed the same thing happen to the subject line in this form 🙃

I am using latest firefox developer edition. After firefox updated automatically, I found that I lost toolbar customization settings. I reconfigured everything, but the next day when it updates I lost the settings again. It seems that there is a bug in Firefox. How can I fix this? If this is a bug, when will it be fixed?
