Why, with not very many active open windows, and just after opening, is FF using 175% of my CPU, not counting all the separate listings in my Activity Monitor. Plus it's using nearly all 16 GBs of my RAM. With every new update, I pray it will mean the browser will just work, and not use up all my computer's resources, but it just never does. Pretty soon, more & more of us will just give up on this browser, which used to work better, years ago, and has only gone downhill since.

The Motherboard on my Windows 7 gave up, however the SSD that it was on is still working properly.

I have seen it on an alternative Windows 7 computer.

I specifically wish to recover the the Bookmarks that is on the Mozilla Firefox browser, and also all of my emails on Mozilla Thunderbird.

I would be most grateful, if someone can please tell me how this can be done?

Some websites add some annoying animation effects into their website's title (that shows in the tab title).

Example: This website: https://colourpop.com/ If you switch to another tab for several seconds, it starts flashing a message, "Hey, where'd you go?". I'd like to be able to disable this and any similar animations that can potentially be added to a website's title. Is this only possible by disabling some scripts and/or using UBlock, etc, or can I do this within Firefox?

Using firefox in linux mint 19.3 mate. Until firefox 97, I could control the size and color of the firefox scrollbars with a system CSS. Since a firefox update to version 98, firefox ignores those settings. Nothing has changed in my firefox settings, my about:config, or system settings. But now the scrollbars are barely visible low contrast narrow bars that are unpleasant to work with, and I can't figure out how to change this. suggestions? tnx

Not exactly sure when this started, but I recently updated to FF 97.0.1.

I previously made the about:config changes about a year ago when this happened. "Double-click the print.tab_modal.enabled preference to switch between the new experience (true) and the classic experience (false)".

But it's not working now. I even toggled back & forth (false - true - false) but to no avail.

How do I get the Print Preview option showing up in the drop down File menu like it used to be?

I DL'd LibreOffice. I went to Writer to create a master grocery shopping list. I figured I'd use a Table. It asked me if I wanted to Create a Database. I figured yeah, I'm going to probably create all kinds of grocery shopping lists. Per store. Per item. I want to cross reference items to compare. Perhaps keep records of store price and best sale price with date of sale. I don't know what is possible yet. Anyway, to create a LIbreWriter Database it errored that I needed to install a JAVA JRE. Java says FF doesn't support it.

It linked to Oracle whereby I could not find a comparable DL to JRE.

Support.mozilla seems to have been saying do it offline with a bunch of complicated workarounds.

I just want to do something simple to fix this. I have to do a complicated update for Win7 to 8 or 10, then to 11 and have been preparing backups on my 2TB HP with an already partitioned hard drive so I don't have time to mess around (plus medical issues make it difficult to do most days. I mention this because perhaps Win11 will factor into your reply.

What's the best thing to do? DL a specific/different Office Style Suite to work with FF? If so which? What's the safest way to go? Thank you for your advise.

This is the third time I've lost all my passwords (and logins) since the beginning of the year. I had over 200 when I lost it the first time. I've entered over 75 since then and today I just lost those. Fortunately, I had a backup of my profile. The old "key4.db" and "logins.json" files I had didn't work, although they have a significant size. In fact, looking at the "logins.json" using VS Code I see the logins are there but they don't display in the "Settings > Privacy & Security". How can I get access to them when this happens again. I was able to restore the profile from several days ago so I'm not completely in trouble.  :-)

I have a locked file that shows up as Invalid Symlinks error. I am not sure but I think it may be Profile.ini Here is what I am getting that tells me its a Non-Existent Destination file. My question is why is it Invalid symlink and what can I do to fix it? Tried to reset settings. Does not work. Went to about:config, than tab.mo / print.tab_modal.enabled set to false. Did this method before and it worked. Now this method does not work trying to get print preview back. Firefox is my web browser. I am in windows 8.1. Seems like Firefox did some updates again and now I can not get print preview back! WHY DOES NOT FIREFOX LEAVE WILL ENOUGH ALONE WHEN THEY HAVE SOMETHING GOOD? Bring back the old classic print preview button back and leave it. Now how can I get the old print preview button back???? I'm using firefox 97 on mac. Whenever I copy and paste an image from firefox, the image comes out desaturated as if it is using the wrong color profile. I tried changing the gfx.color_management settings without it improving. The images look fine and are the right colors in the browser, however, the issue only happens when I copy and paste images. Firefox behaves like the color management is disabled (set to 0 in config) but ONLY when copying and pasting images.

I do not have this issue with other browsers such as chrome.

I have Firefox V97.0 on My Mac Studio. I am trying to open a Firefox account because my Pocket app says I have to. How do I UPGRADE my Firefox Browser to make that happen ... or do I have the latest version already? Believe it or not, your support pages don't talk about upgrading at all.

I've tried going in safe mode, turning of my Facebook container. Deleting cache. Signing out of Facebook. Also adjusting the backspace key in my Config. Having no problems on my Android phone or when using Opera. It's on on Firefox and on Facebook.

FACEBOOK screen suddenly moves to the bottom of the screen when I am typing a comment. Whenever I hit SHIFT+alpha_letter at the beginning of a line OR simply hit the backspace key, the screen suddenly shifts to the very bottom of the page again even if I have tried to scroll the page back up to the middle of the screen manually. This shifts the entry area where I'm typing down and sometimes off of the visible screen entirely. Just hitting the backspace to correct a typo causes the screen to scroll on its own. I have to scroll back down to the entry box and if I make another typo, it happens again. 

Please help. Been going on for over two weeks. I was hoping the new Firefox update yesterday would help. Nope. Still happening.

My work consists mainly of capturing accounting data online. It is important that the browser warns me if I try to close or navigate away from a page if the data entered has not been saved or updated, but I no longer get these warnings.

Please help.

I just updated from Firefox 96.0.3 to Firefox 97. When I try to print I get the Firefox preview, even though I have print.tab_modal.enabled set to false. Please fix it so that I can get the print system dialog without going via the Firefox preview. Note that I have now reverted to Firefox 96.0.3 and won't update from this unless the problem is fixed.

Hi,

Almost daily, I have to delete cert9.db and restart Firefox, otherwise I can't access some websites, or even web interfaces of local devices on our LAN.

security.enterprise_roots.enabled is greyed out, so I can't change that but it is set to "true", which I believe means that it should be using Windows Cert store and not cert9.db. Yet still, deleting cert9.db is the solution to my issues.

Can anyone advise on what I can do for a more permanent fix?

I am running Windows 11, with Firefox 97.0 ("Up To Date"), but the installer for the new 115 ESR does not work.

The installer (Firefox Setup 115.18.0.esr.exe) seems to think that my system is running Windows 7 and does not proceed.
