Hello all:

Just downloaded version 140 and ran into an immediate "visual/appearance" problem with regard to the background color(s) of the sidebar bookmarks view. Many themes now have totally dark sidebar colors and not readable (see screenshot image upload with this posting). I always have my bookmarks (almost 1200 of them) displayed in my sidebar, and this is the first time an issue like this has arisen with a Firefox update.

To remedy this scenario, I must use very light colored themes that have a white background when you bring up the sidebar bookmarks. If not, everything is totally dark and unreadable.

Any ideas or help on this one?

All of a sudden, the text in my Bookmarks bar has turned black making it unreadable on the black background. Any idea why this happened and how I may revert the text back to white? Thank you for your help.

When I click on NY Times link, I get this message: You have been blocked from The New York Times because we suspect that you're a robot. I'm just an old guy with a low tolerance level for tech glitches. Any help greatly appreciated!

I called NYT Support, which tells me it must be a Firefox issue since I can open in Chrome, Safari. I thought it might because I have the Enhanced Tracking Protection box checked, but unchecking does nothing.

Out of ideas.

The release notes for Firefox version 140.0.1 indicate the extension button can can now be removed from the toolbar.the noes say:

"Firefox Extensions: Customize your toolbar with the option to remove the extensions shortcut, giving you more control over your browser. When the button is hidden, you can access the extensions panel again at any time from the Firefox menu by clicking the Extensions menu item."

I still cannot drag the button down and out of sight by customising the toolbar.

Suggestions welcome.

Hello all!

According to the article [Firefox Profiles] there is supposed to be a way to manage profiles through the account icon. I do not have that option on my build 140 with windows 11.

I created profiles using the about:profiles command; however, they seem to want to be separate accounts, not profiles.

I want help to achieve the functionality as described in the article so I can stop using Edge because I need to keep my work/personal/school accounts separate.

I use an independent password manager to store my passwords and prefer it over Firefox's because it has a highly customizable generator for creating new passwords. However whenever I am on a new site, Firefox pops up with a prompt to generate a secure new password (it appears as a drop-down from the item text box). My password manager also creates a pop up/drop down, but it is hidden behind Firefox's and I cannot access it. I need to be able to disable the secure password generator prompt. Please take a look at my excellently annotated screenshot, attached.

Alternative search engines no longer appear when typing the stasrt of a search. Am able to set alternative search engine in settings but need to go back to settings if I want to use another one. This happened after a recent update - perhaps as much as a week ago.

I am using Firefox v140.0.1 Snap on Kubuntu 25.04, Kernel 6.14. Since the Firefox update in the past couple days, the mouse cursor has started appearing huge and slightly blurry (as though the image is scaled up) in Firefox and nowhere else. The size is visually annoying, and occasionally difficult to know exactly where I'm clicking (trying to move the caret in a text box for example). It also appears to be a different style from the main desktop cursor, the shape and color are ever so slightly different, but this may already have been the case and I simply didn't notice because of the previously small size. Firefox doesn't have its own built in cursor settings that I can find, nor obey the system cursor settings. I have a high DPI display so perhaps it is being over-compensated for? e.g. both the system and Firefox are scaling the cursor up, assuming the other hasn't done it already, resulting in a cursor that's too big.

literally what the [expletive] was the thought process in making it so that when u import all ur passwords from a csv it AUTOMATICALLY DELETES "DUPLICATES" WITHOUT CHECKING AT ALL WHICH ONE IS CORRECT. I HAVE SO MANY [expletive] PASSWORDS THAT ARE WRONG BECAUSE UR [expletive] BROWSER DOESNT ALLOW ME TO [expletive] MANUALLY CHANGE THAT STUPID OPTION. WHAT THE [expletive] WAS THE THOUGHT PROCESS IN MAKING IT [expletive] AUTOMATIC???

The setting works...in the way that if i quit Firefox, it'll not continue from the tabs and windows, but if i reboot my pc and open Firefox, I find myself the same place i stopped...even though i have that setting disabled. I found someone else with same issue on reddit and i did the same restarting the browser and refreshing and all....all to no effect.

How to get rid of the half-dozen old search sites from very top of each new page, directly under browser box. Those sites are places I no longer use, e.g., from my old job; from a Wiki search done ages ago. I have searched for help. I never see "three dots" when I hover my cursor above the offending items.

I was using Chrome. My daughter recommended Fire Fox for my MacBookPro. I did. Now I need to clean up this problem.

The errors I get are kind of all over the place though. I've completely deleted and reinstalled Firefox, and removed all extensions too.

It will loop to the login screen over and over, or I get the message 'An error has happened, try again later'...

I used the browser console and didn't get anything that seemed usable. I use Strava nearly every day so I'm having to use Safari. And this issue is on all of the mac and Windows systems I use. 'Troubleshooting Mode' didn't work either.

Когда firefox зависает и windows предлагает его убить, firefox получает права системы и по этому становиться не убиваемым.Система не может его убить потому что у его права системы .В первые заметил этот баг когда сделал браузер firefox браузером по умолчанию.У меня сим роутер при запуске системы открывает браузер тут та браузер и зависает (не всегда ,но часто) в диспетчере задач в этот момент у его права системы.Писал в майрософт ,майкрософт посоветовал пользоваться нормальным браузером и сменить браузер по умолчанию .По совету майкрософт сменил браузер по умолчанию на chrome проблема пропала. Hello, I think I may have asked about this in the past but cannot recall if I received an answer. Under Settings, I get the message "Your browser is being managed by your organization." This is my home computer and is not being managed by any organization. When I click for more information, it gives me a screen with the following information:

Policy Name Certificates

Policy Value ImportEnterpriseRoots

                         true

If I could get more information on this suspected error, or how to correct it, that would be great. Thanks!

Why on earth would you remove the ability to select move multiple tabs anywhere in an open window browser???? Until recently, I could select the first and last tab, hold shift and move them anywhere I chose. Now that feature doesn't work at all. It duplicates one tab or I'm given a choice to move to the front or last of all open tabs! Please give me the feature back!!1

Lately I installed a new PC, and tried to download FireFox and sync my data. But my data seems like a few years ago, not as new as another PC I have now. I'm sure I have logged in with same account on them, how's this happend?

After the most recent update, all of my Firefox tabs, bookmarks, and general UI fonts have gotten larger. Is this intended or a bug? There are not options that I know of to reduce the size of the fonts to how it looked previously either.

I've been using tab grouping and it is really helpful.

But this morning when I created a new tab group called "MISC" I was unable to add any tabs to it.

1. I noticed that this new group happens to be the 11th group I've created. So I'm guessing that there may be a limit of ten groups. Am I right?

2. And now, some hours later, I see that the new MISC group does appear on my tab bar, but one of my old groups, TECH, has disappeared, but its contents seem to have been added to the MISC group.

So when I open some websites such as the RimWorld wiki ( https://rimworldwiki.com ), whenever i scroll my gpu for firefox launches straight to 100% and becomes extremely laggy. I have no idea what is causing this. My friends and other browsers run it completely fine. I have tried troubleshoot mode, gotten rid of all my extensions and themes, removed all cookies and cache and nothing works. My drivers are all updated, and I have truly just given up. If anyone has any solutions I would be much obliged.
