What I would like to do is edit my bookmarks and passwords on my current device then be able to delete the Firefox online storage and sync the current live Firefox to a new online Firefox storage.

When I click to add a bookmark, I'm not given a choice as to where it should go, and all go to one of many bookmarks. I uninstalled my virus scan program, but that didn't help. Any answers?

I have multiple bookmarks for some sites. When I try to delete one of the duplicates, 'all' the copies disappear. How do I delete the duplicates while keeping one copy?

So i have old Bookmarks.

very old.

The Bookmarks file dated 2014. What version the Firefox was that generated that files i do not know.

If i import those .json files there are none Bookmarks imported.....

The new shiny fancy format is json packed with lz4. Can i deactivate this? I do not want compression! Bookmarks are text, text can be packed, but no not in modern times. Modern Times require speed not space. Or in other words: I want the bookmarks seachable with my editor.... I have space for a few TB for bookmarks.

Hi guys i'm new in the forum so i have no idea if anybody else allready had my problem,i've tried to fix it myself but i cant seem to get it done. Yesterday i had a problem with my OS linux,and i had to reinstall the system,while i was pretty sure i had all bookmarks saved in an external HD i went straight to a quick format and reinstall of the OS,after installed all the due system update.

The Problem:

While i was importing the bookmarks.html i stored in external HD i noticed that nothing was being added in the bookmarks of Firefox,so i tried few times just in case i was doing something wrong but still nothing was being added in the bookmarks,so i tried to import the bookmarks on Tor Browser and the same thing happened nothing was imported. So it came to my mind that the .html file could've been damaged. Now i tried many ways to open the file either in command line or text editor i even tried using libreoffice,in the case of text editor,command line such gedit,pico,nano it loaded the file but it was heavily encrypted,in the case of libreoffice shortly after i tried to open the file popped up a message telling me that the file was corrupted and libreoffice couldn't read it and stopped.

I need a solution to either fix the .html file or decrypt it so i can recover the web addresses inside and it would be very bad for me since my bookmarks.html is 3.3Mb large with ALOT of bookmarks inside.

Can anybody tell me how to?

P.S. OS Linux BackBox 7 up to date along with it latest version of Firefox that update server provides me.

I have recently migrated back to Firefox from Chrome. I followed the instructions to import my bookmarks and forgot that I was logged into my work chrome account, so those bookmarks were imported. When I followed the same procedure using my personal google account, the procedure did not work. Is there a way to import bookmarks from multiple google accounts into Firefox? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I know how to get rid of the title words and only have icons on the Bookmarks toolbar. But there used to be a way to have the title words (not the URLs) display when I hover over the icons. That function seems to be missing. How can I restore it? Thanks.

was the question I asked and I did find a solution that helped me solve it. So going back to that question I was hoping I would easily be able to do the same thing again on my new motherboard and ssd but when I get the the windows.old part it wont come for me and then I am left stuck.

again restoring option gives me the 11 items thing, i dont know why its always 11 and it says its from today but thats what it shows.

Good Morning Do not know where to start, I am 83 a rookie to this. When i tried to use firefox it kept telling me i already have firefox open to shut down one. So i tried to do it, now i have a mess. I lost all my bookmarks, I think i still have a account? Just do not know what to do. Please help, hope i am not beyond repair. Thank You

I am 66 and can't read the tiny fonts on my saved bookmarks... how can I make them bigger. I know how to make web pages bigger but HOW DO I MAKE THE BOOKMARK FONTS BETTER this is ridiculous how small they are and no way to change them... . WTF over !

I recently opened Firefox and it prompted me to create a new profile. I closed it up and reopened it 2-3 more times and it did the same thing. I created a new profile. My bookmarks immediately disappeared, and so did all of my old profiles. I have tried many online suggestions for restoring both. Firefox is up to date, and Windows has been recently updated too. I have an older (2013) Toshiba laptop. Any suggestions?

I followed cor_el's advice and created a new profile. This helped me for a while (i.e., I could delete bookmarks duplicates), but it stopped working. I tried creating another new profile, but it didn't help at all. Since a new profile doesn't seem to help me (i,e., I still can't delete duplicate bookmarks without all copies disappearing), does anyone have any other suggestions?

The Other Bookmarks folder is located on the far right side of the toolbar instead of being a movable folder. This happened after Firefox crashed and I lost all my preferences (any help with that?) I tried to use the method that jscher2000 recommended when I asked this before but the only thing it did was remove the folder entirely from the toolbar.

This morning I closed my bookmarks sidebar to frame open windows better. Now there is no option to restore it. Help please, as this is my best organization for web browsing. Thank you!

For some reason url search suggests sites that I have not bookmarked but have visited in the past. I often delete history + data, and even with delete and restart the sites popup in the suggestions. The only way I have found to remove the suggestions is to set browser.urlbar.suggest.bookmark to false. What is causing this and how can I fix this? I'm using Firefox 87.0 64bit.

I have version 86.0.1 running on a macbook pro. I followed the directions in the 'help' section and they do not apply to my version of firefox: Press the blue star, select bookmark and press delete. No such feature found. What can I do? Thank you.

hi i hope some one can help me, ive looked at youtube videos but its not helping.

i have swapped my drive in my laptop to ssd. had to do a fresh install of windows 10 home as clone of drive failed a number of times. reinstalled firefox runs fine but obvioulsy i need all my favourites and book marks back along with bookmark toolbar dead without it..... i have access to the old drive via usb and can see the profiles folder but when (following youtube videos) ive copied it over i dont see my favorites or toolbar. im sure there is something im doing wrong or not done but the videos do seem to be for older vrns of firefox and so not 100%accurtae in what to do.

My computer was updated with the latest linux and the latest firefox browser. I want to create folders in my bookmarks. All the help answers say to go to Bookmarks and click on 'Menu'. That does not come up as an option. All I get is: Show all bookmarks; bookmark this page; bookmarks toolbar; other bookmarks. I can't find anything similar in tools, edit, or file. I also don't get 'Edit Bookmarks' like was in the last edition I had.

I have the bookmarks tool bar open with the ability to click on the two arrows on the right to see additional bookmarks. I have recently tried to bookmark some links like I always do and they don't show up in the toolbar. Anyone else have this problem? I did not change any settings. Did the recent update change some settings I don't know about or is this a bug. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!!!
