Looking for a way via "config" to permanently change the default "any time" for the search period for searches to a set period of days, i.e. 30, 60, 90, etc. Have not been able to find anything in forum conversations or in browsing through the config file that addresses such a change. Thanks for any help you can give. Mark

I posted this question earlier today:

I have been exclusively using Firefox forever and happy with it until a friend said "Hey, try this" and tacked duckduckgo on top of it - and I'm sure it does a great job - but I have since then noticed some browsing oddities relative to Firefox pre-duckduckgo and I want to remove it that I may compare before and after performances.
But I can't find it anywhere and as I am allergic to, and highly suspicious of, anything I can't track down and remove from my system if I so desire, I REALLY want it gone, at least until I find out more about its characteristics.

So question #1 = is it really that useful, and #2 = how do I remove it regardless? And this is the answer I got: The Browser has no choice on which site you use as homepage. To which I clicked on NO to was this answer useful and tried to follow up with this: Thank you, but this... The Browser has no choice on which site you use as homepage. ...means nothing to me and is of zero help. I used to browse with Firefox and now I am stuck with search with duckduckgo... instead, and I want it gone. But this just went straight into Answers. So let me reiterate: How do I get rid of duckduckgo? Thank you.

Hi,

The subject two inputs are for developers if they are reachable. I found a Firefox feedback process once, but cannot find it again, since the organization prefers to not be contacted.

On Firefox version 67 now, and I suppose 68 will be out in a few days in light of what we've been seeing.

DuckDuckGo is an add-on and my homepage. Searches from the page and address bar result in a a crashed tab error page; this behavior is new as of this afternoon Pacific Time. I guess it applies to 67 and not 66, now that I think on it.

Off to Bing.

Have a good day, Matthew

Sorry not a technical person but as an example https://www.johnlewis.com/eaziglide-neverstick2-non-stick-milk-pan-16cm/p2185188 On other browsers if you click on an item you will be able to then click on customers reviews which appear. In Firefox the option to look at customers reviews is not present. I am using an iMac late 2012 model running El Capitan 10.11.6 Hope this helps - Cheers Michael Fulford

DuckDuckGo was working fine as a search engine but within the last month, the search results are flashed for a second before the whole tab goes to white blank displaying nothing. I removed DuckDuckGo privacy extension. Switched temporarily to Google. Search results were fine. Switched back to DuckDuckGo as default engine. Same problem is experienced now.

DDG has been set as my default engine. This (v.63) FF setting is reliable and consistent. i.e. it sticks.

Alas, changing the 'Privacy and Security' Settings in FF wipes out the default DDG Search settings. (and no, this never used to happen).

For example, clicking on DDG's Search Results no longer open in a new tab and all the DDG Search settings are reset to their default. This is consistent, repeatable and happens after customizing Cookies and Trackers in FF Settings. (I have no idea about any other Search Engines)

Yes, I deleted all the .sqlite files and .js files and re-installed FF. Generally I 'pulled my hair out' trying to find the cause. Even add-on offed Privacy Badger, uMatrix & uBlockOrigin (to no avail.)

I don't like to be bald and hope FF will buy me a wig for my travails.

Solution? Keep FF 'Privacy and Security' Settings at their defaults....

Hope this helps someone else as it took me a few weeks... Devs? Hah!
