When I do this:

Click the menu button Fx89menuButton to open the menu panel. Click Bookmarks and then click the Manage bookmarks bar at the bottom. In the Library window, click the Import and Backup button and then select Restore.

I get a blank slate. No files listed.

When I go into the Profile, I see C:\Users\whatt\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\shgdgxn6.default-release-1752271533405\bookmarkbackups

How do I restore bookmarks from that file?

I just transferred my data from an old computer with Windows 10 and now have Windows 11 on my new computer with a new version of firefox as my browser. How do I restore my bookmarks?

Firefox just updated and ALL of my bookmarks are gone. There is NOTHING. WTF? I am not a computer person so reading help articles just makes my head spin and of course I can't reach a real live person at Mozillabold text. Can anyone help?

SUBJECT: Profile missing after update to 146.0.1 

After the last Firefox update (146.0.1), I can no longer access my profile that included bookmarks, history and passwords.  

After the update was done on 12/19/25, I was given the option to choose between my original profile and a newly created one. The next day when I opened Firefox, there was only one profile shown and my original profile was gone. I have read numerous fixes for this problem but nothing seems to work.

I have done the following to try to locate my missing profile to no avail. 1. I went to the Profile Manager but the only profile listed was the newly created one. 2. I didn't do a refresh so there was no "Old Firefox Data" folder to copy the data from. 3. Used about:Profiles, Again only the newly created profile was listed 4. I used ~Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles. Still no luck. 

Could my profile have been moved to another place or could it be hidden? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

After the update occurred my desktop bookmarks was not here anymore! I need to get that desktop bookmars back and I can not figure out how to get it back PLEASE help me!!

I just updated to the latest Firefox. All my history, bookmarks, extensions are now gone. I do not seem to be able to get them back. My old version of Firefox is not available. When I ask to update from a prior browser, the drop down selection does not give me my prior version of Firefox. Help!

After most recent update all my bookmarks and passwords disappeared and I cannot seem to recover them. This is extremely frustrating. Has anyone else had this happen? I tried using the recovery process but it did not work.

My Firefox accidentally closed (separate mousepad issue). I went in to try & restore previous session.... not an option.... so I figured I'd try 'recently closed tabs'. Clicked, saw reopen all tabs! Wouldn't work! Tried multiple times! Please help

After both a MS and Firefox update, I have lost all my Firefox bookmarks

I have viewed several videos online that showed how to restore them, they seemed straightforward enough, but I always hit a dead end.

Firefox>menu>Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks>LIbrary>Import And BackUp>Restore>ChooseFile

Once I get to Restore, there are no dates available to me to pick from.All I get is Choose File, but when I click on that, nothing happens. Dead end.

I have lost all my Firefox bookmarks. All gone. I have searched online for solutions, and have seen what appears to be a standard procedure for doing so. Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks> LIbrary>Import and Backup>Restore

This is where it breaks down for me......I see no date available to use. All I see is "Choose File" and when I click that, nothing happens. That is the dead end I am at now.

Can anyone out there point me in the right direction? Many thanks. Jay
