When I attempt to download a large file, for example this one, Firefox often:
When I attempt to cancel the download, Firefox does not react. Even if I close Firefox, the download continues to absorb the entire available network capacity. The PC (runniong Windows 10 21H2) can not be shut down normally; I can only stop the process by pressing and holding the PC's power button to effect a hard shutdown. When I restart the PC and restart Firefox, Firefox automatically attempts to resume the failed download, with the same results described above. How can I prevent Firefox from hogging all available network capacity for downloads? How can I terminate hung downloads in a more elegant manner? How can I prevent Firefox from attempting to resume failed downloads the next time I start it? I am currently using Firefox 103.0.2. AFAIK, this is also the latest version at this time.

I've only been having it issue since upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04. Firefox (103.0.2) will lock up (not the pc, it will keep working in other apps). It doesn't seem to matter about the number of tabs open, or what sites I'm accessing. It 'seems' random, and closing Firefox and reopening it seems to work for a short while before locking up again. I'm not a tech guru so I don't know exactly what to include here, like logs, or other info. The other issue associated with this issue is, when it locks, and I restart, Firefox does not start the first time I click on it. I have to click on it again and when I do, it will start, but usually (not every time) I get an error message along with the open home page of Firefox. I have to press the (not sure what to call it) windows key and switch to the error to close it. In the past, I've always had a great experience with Firefox, but this is starting to really be annoying! Especially when I have four of five tabs open and have to do a restart. Firefox doesn't seem to realize it's had a problem so the option to re-open tabs with a restart doesn't happen. So I have to use history, which can be troublesome and confusing, to get back to the pages I was reading. I only open multiple tabs most often when I'm researching an issue and want to 'order' the tabs so I read the ones that look like they apply the most to my research topic. So it really is an annoying issue. So much so, that I have been looking to switch browsers. But I really do not like the large commercial entities not to name names, but I may have to suck it up and install the Big G's browser, the Big C! )^: (note: if you respond requesting additional information, please be kind and offer how to obtain the info! Thanks!)

Hi, I have noticed this behavior for a while now and it is becoming bothersome now. It seems to happen ONLY upon initial visit to a site, any site. Once the site loads completely, any links from there loads without the black screen.
Of course, I have searched and tried the known remedies: 1) graphics driver. Chrome, Konqueror and other browsers do not exhibit this behavior. 2) FF add-on's disabled. No permanent difference. 3) Hardware acceleration disabled. No permanent difference.
I'm running 103.0.2 (64-bit) on: Operating System: Kubuntu 22.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.17.5-051705-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz Memory: 23.4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: llvmpipe
This is not a deal breaker but should be addressed to make FF more perfect! Best... Hong Son

If I manually type a URL into the navigation bar, by default Firefox will issue a search request to Google for the URL.
The workaround is to open another tab and manually write the URL again, this time manually adding 'http://'.
Ideally I want my browser to actually go to the URL that I supply to it.

I am trying to print html as a book using Paged.js and discovered that fonts are rendered slightly narrower when processing "Save to PDF", which means more characters fit on one line leaving too few characters for the last line on the page to justify, making it too stretched out.
Looking for the root of the problem I made a simple page with multi-column layout and "Save to PDF" breaks up the text differently there, too.
CSS for it is:
width: 500px; column-count: 4; column-width: 100px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-character;
In the picture is a screenshot of the display at the top and screenshot of the pdf below. They came at different resolutions so I aligned them as best as I could. In this case browser puts "ex ea commodo" in the second column on one line but in pdf "commodo" goes onto the next one.

(There are several sites that work well on Chrome but are glitchy one way or another on FFox. I don't like to use (or have to switch to) Chrome for workarounds!)
Is there something I can tweak on my FFox to fix this?

I have my saved login and password details from another browser in a CSV and would like to import them to Firefox. I initially did not have the 'Import from a File' option in the drop down menu of the Logins and Passwords tab. After following a guide that instructed to set signon.management.page.fileImport.enabled to true in the about:config page, the option appeared. However, the said option is unresponsive to any clicks. The drop down menu simply closes once the option is selected, without any other reaction.
I'm not sure if this is a related problem but I am also unable to use the Import Wizard that appears on performing Alt+F and choosing 'Import From Another Browser...' The Import Wizard window only appears with a message that says "No programs that contain bookmarks, history or password data could be found."

Funnily enough, the 'Browse..' button for adding images under this support question doesn't work either.
Hello there,

Ever since the update to Firefox 102 and continuing in 103, Netflix gives a F7701-1003 when attempting playback, naturally playback works fine(as it always does every time FF does this with each new release) in Chrome and Brave. All previous suggested work arounds do not resolve this issue.
Since no one answered this question the last 5 times people had to ask similar questions I will repeat this basic question.

Upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. This forcibly converted Firefox to a "Snap" version. The new version won't find or use any of the old profile information. So I've lost all my passwords.
about:profiles shows only the newly created default profile.
Old profiles still exist in '~/.mozilla/firefox/####.default-release' but about:config does not find them.
Read https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-user-data-missing-after-firefox-update Not helpful.
I can find old versions of login-backup.json and key4.db. , but they seem to be out of date.

For the past few weeks I've been using Facebook's voice chat function to stay in touch with family. I did this using a dual boot laptop with, Ubuntu Linux 20.04.4 and Firefox 103, and Windows 10 with Firefox 101.1. I use the linux side 99.9% of the time.
I'd initiate a call by clicking on the FB Messenger icon, clicking on the name of the person I wanted to talk with, then clicking on the small phone handset icon. This would bring up a popup window with a picture of the other person, and the sound of a phone ringing followed by the other person answering my call.
This stopped working late last week (Thursday Aug 11th, I believe). Instead of a popup with the ringing phone, I began getting a popup with the message "Something went wrong. Try restarting Firefox or restarting your computer. For more troubleshooting suggestions, visit our Help Center. If the issue persists please let us know." I've attached a screenshot of the message.
This led me to a series of troubleshooting steps with no success: - clearing my browser cache and cookies - made sure my microphone was available for FB to use and was not muted - rebooting my laptop - doing a Firefox "Refresh", which creates a new Firefox profile while removing browser extensions and customizations - logging into a 2nd seldom used linux account I have on the same laptop and trying to initiate a voice chat in Firefox (no luck) - dual booting to Windows 10 and trying it with Firefox 101.1 (no success) - I also tried this on an older desktop pc running Ubuntu 16.04 and Firefox 88 (!). Also, no success and the exact same message as seen in the screenshot.
What I can also tell you is that in Linux I was able to initiate a FB voice chat call using the Brave and Chrome browsers, and in Windows was able to successfully initiate a call using MS Edge and Brave.
Based on this, it seems to be either a Firefox issue, or the nice folks at FB changed something that trips up only Firefox. Again, other browsers on two different OS platforms and a separate computer allow me to make these voice calls without issue.
I'd be glad to provide more information if you need it. I apologize if this was long winded, but I wanted to share as much detail as I could. Thank you very much for your time, and don't hesitate to contact me if I can provide any further information.
Specifically on Whatsapp Web and Reddit. I can't type any accented character from my language, it just disappears. I'm on Linux using the US-INTL keyboard layout.
