I’ve been using Firefox for months without manually creating a profile (I assume one is created by default). I had a lot of bookmarks, and today I accidentally created a profile manually, but then deleted it after noticing it didn’t have my bookmarks. Now, even after deleting it, I still don’t have my bookmarks, and Firefox keeps creating profiles for me. I checked backup files, but I can’t find anything, or maybe I don’t even know which folder I’m supposed to look in. My browsing history is gone, and I think I also lost my saved passwords or usernames for websites I used.

I’ve already tried using firefox.exe -P and checking %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\, but my bookmarks aren’t in either of those folders (.default or .default-release). Honestly, I really don’t want to believe I could have lost everything that easily.

I even used Recuva to try recovering files like places.sqlite and checked the bookmarks folders in the only two directories where those files existed, but it was pointless. Honestly, I still don’t even understand how everything got deleted just from manually creating a profile. I really didn’t expect something like this to happen.

In the menu for choosing which tab to add to a split view, tabs with the name/link of the original do not show up. I would like this fixed, although this is really only a minor inconvenience when duplicating a tab to put it into split view.

I was doing some work, when suddenly everything slowed, I checked my Activity Monitor, and it showed Firefox at nearly 20 Gigs of RAM & about 30% of CPU usage! I opened the Task Manager, and it only showed Firefox using 2 Gigs, and 25% of CPU. After a few minutes, the memory usage just as suddenly dropped down to the 2 Gigs as shown in Task Manager, and things seemed to be back to normal.

Why did this happen? I did nothing that would cause a spike, didn't open any new videos, or other high memory usage pages, or applications. I have seen FF showing a similar 20 Gigs of RAM usage, slowing everything down, several times recently, and wonder what could be causing these sudden spikes.

Hi, it looks like Firefox can copy links from selected tabs, using right-click menu. It doesn't work for non HTTP(S) addresses though, such as "file:///C:/Users/USER/etc."

Is it possible for non HTTP(S) addresses?

The add on Export Tabs URLs by AL is very good, has the option for non HTTP(S) addresses, but I couldn't get it to work for selected tabs, is it possible for selected tabs?

I can no longer watch videos on Amazon prime, those included and the ones I pay extra for through an added subscription to mgm+ since the last update. What is going on? Is it the VPN data limit thing? If so, how can I turn it off?

Hi - Recently when I was on either my desktop or laptop I saw a notification that the sidebar would be going away. I can't seem to find any information on that now though. Will the sidebar still be going away soon? I for one would like to say that I enjoy that feature and would like to see it stay an option on desktops/laptops. If it does go away, how do we access bookmarks and synced tabs? Is there anything I need to do ahead of it possibly going away? Thanks in advance for your help!

Running v150.0.3 on a Windows 10 PC. I have (HAD) 5 windows open with about a dozen tabs in each one. Just realized that one of the windows is gone! Every time I startup Firefox, I always allow it to automatically update the version. I have a bad feeling this missing window issue happened during the most recent update (last week?).

Has anyone ever experienced this issue or have any ideas how this could have happened? Any chance of recovering that window? I have weekly backups of the SSD containing all my Mozilla files & folders (Firefox and Thunderbird).

Further to the malware, it references Windows OS but has seized her Mac. I powered off. Rebooted. Within about 15 seconds of opening Firefox the malware pops up and freezes the Mac. By the third time I was able "force quit" Firefox and the other applications function properly. I beleive I deleted Firefox but probably didn't get it all out. I reinstalled firefox and upon booting up Firefox the malware is still activated. Can you please assist with a fix?

since v150 came out ive been having an issue where i get a flash of white on start up if i have Homepage and new windows as Firefox home with a wallpaper... i have re-installed firefox and tested it as default and it still happens. seems the wallpapers have a delay till it displays properly.

I downloaded a syllabus from my online class but I can not open the file a drop box appears and asking what should firefox do with the file. I attached a screenshot of what happened when I attempted to open file. Can you please help me with this issue?

На на сайте поддержки Mozzila не нашел, ни интернет не подсказал. Я понимаю, что это автозапуск Firefox при запуске Windows. Но что конкретно делает данный параметр?

Firefox 140.10.2esr Windows 11

Opened Firefox this morning and it said I was using an old version of Firefox and it couldn't load my profile. I have always used the esr version.

I had a look at the compatibility.ini file under my profile and it had version 150.xx. Is that a bug with the last update?

To recover I backed up my profile then changed the compatibility version to the version of Firefox I am using. I was able to load my profile and while all my bookmarks and settings are there, my saved credentials are not. The key4.db and logins.json file are both still under my profile folder, they just don't seem to be recognised; no errors. Viewing the logins.json shows my encrypted credentials.

Does anyone know what is going on and how to resolve?

I’m in the market for a vpn and found out u come highly recommended. Have a few questions before I proceed with the purchase. 1. Using one account, how do i install Mozilla vpn on Windows laptop, iPhones (2), Apple watch? Each of this has their own software installation. 2. Will be traveling to the Philippines this year. Found out Mozilla does not have a vpn server servicing the country. Do you have an alternate solution? 3. If I’m traveling internationally, does your vpn software automatically switch my server closest to where I’m at or do I have to do it manually by doing a search and select function? 4. Do you offer a trial version for Mozilla vpn?
