Recently did clean install of OS Sequoia and then all my apps, etc. Installed Firefox and noticed I had no horizontal or vertical scroll bars, (right side and bottom of browser page). I had do I get those turned on. I use a Wacom Cintiq 32 Pro and the pen so not using a mouse with a scroll wheel. Thanks.

I'm a bit out of ideas how I can get Firefox to display the correct characters. For reference: https://learnjapanese.moe/font/ I just recognized it since Anki is using System WebView and thus defaults to Firefox. There, it worked until a few weeks ago to just set to have the characters rendered in japanese fonts. Windows: I only have german and japanese locale installed, i even changed in intl.cpl the language to japanese. I have installed the japanese language pack / fonts and it's showing correctly in any windows editor. Firefox: Second language set to japanese, disabled all addons, tried it on private mode to no success. Any ideas how I get the characters to display?

Please I want to remove Ai from Firefox Mozila permanently on Windows 11 for all users/profiles:

I tried a lot of workarounds but they are unsuccessfully: I tried to create extensions (Hide Gemini, AI Google Overview), but they do not work for all users; only profile-based extensions are supported. I tried to use preferences using internal settings on Firefox, but it does not apply to all users. I tried using a script on PowerShell for all users merging internal preferences, but it does not work I copied the local and roaming settings from Firefox to the Default profile, but it was unsuccessful.

I also tried to remove "All" from the search page, but I moved the seach to go to the tab "Web" only.

Periodically I open Friefox and all my cookies have been deleted. I go into settings to find "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" has been checked (NOT BY ME!) again. This is very annoying as I then have to log into all my websites and go through 2FA. This is annoying to the point that I am posting on this site for help. Next step is find a new browser that doesn't screw up my work-flow randomly for no reason.

When I click on Bookmarks, all I see are the following:

What happened to the entry that shows my bookmarks ?

i can change font size in general via firefox settings, BUT!

whenever i want to download a file from any given website,
the download window that appears, in which i can navigate to a folder on my computer and choose a name for the file,

has such super small font!!! and to make it worse, the text largely in a soft gray rather than a nice strong black! SO hard to read. i would love an easy way to make this font always bigger for all these situations. if anyone can provide the solution im super grateful!

For some reason Firefox remembered my phone number and is now trying to use it as a login when I attempt to login or register in any service. I've checked my saved passwords and autofill data, but I cannot find it, there's only usernames and passwords, and I have no saved autofill data, no phone number. Where can I look for it to remove it?

The Firefox version I used before was Mac version 136.0 After I updated to the latest version, I found that the fonts of the browser's tab bar, search box, and bookmarks became significantly larger. How can I change the font size?

I do not and will not use the sidebar/vertical tabs features.

Unfortunately, it seems that firefox has decided to reactivate these features with an update? This is unacceptable. I do not want my settings to be altered with a software update. If firefox wants to tell me about a new feature, feel free to make a dialogue bubble pop up (once) asking if I'd like to explore said new features. Otherwise, please refrain from altering my preferred configuration without permission or notification. Doing so is completely asinine at best and shows open contempt for your customer base at worst.

I do not wish to give mozilla/firefox another opportunity to make my experience worse, thusly I ask: Is there anyway to entirely remove/disable the sidebar/vertical tabs feature from the browser so that it cannot be reactivated without the specific actions of the user?

We want to use Firefox on a locked down system where the user will not be able to go to other websites. We looked at using Kiosk mode, but we want to allow tabs. How can we hide the address bar before the browser is opened and without registry changes?

It nags me, that I ain't asked if I want the AI function, you just force it over me without giving me any choice, if I want it..

SO, how to COMPLETELY remove the AI function in Firefox and Linux Ubuntu..

Today (06/12/2025) upon opening a new tab, Firefox slid the new option of uploading a custom picture to apply to the background. Tried the new feature, now I can not find the setting that allows me to change the picture. I read the thread "Customize your wallpapers". The instructions are as follows; You can personalize your Firefox New Tab page by adding one of the available wallpapers. Follow these steps:

  1. In the right corner of the New Tab page, click the gear IG settings icon.
  2. In the customization panel, under the Wallpapers section, you will see different categories like Solid colors, Abstract and Photographs.

       Click the category you prefer. For example, selecting Abstract will show a variety of abstract designs. 

The problem I have is the customization panel is no where to be seen, I have click on EVERYTHING possible, it is not in my settings, why? How do find this?

When I want to access a site, I am told JavaScript needs to be enabled for access. In checking I am told JavaScript is already enabled. To check it, I should about:config in Firefox mobile and toggle JavaScript to true if it is shown as disabled. However, when I do that I am blocked for safety reasons. I want to know what's happening here with JavaScript and Firefox mobile.

On various websites with embedded podcasts, when the file goes past 1h the volume 'slider' goes away and becomes a basic mute/unmute button. How can i force Firefox to always display the volume slider?

As the question stated I have navigated to my mozilla profile folder, ( C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\pw1dnvcy.default-release ) but there is no file called persdict.dat. I have ensured all file name extensions are visible, & none are hidden in windows file explorer (Win 10). I am at al loss I cannot figure this out.

Updated recently from (I believe) 138.04 to 139.0.1, and immediately noticed that the size of font (and icons) had changed in the folders I have in the bookmark toolbar, that is they are much smaller and thus also less space between. Why this, and is it possible to change the size, without changing something else?

It's possible that many don't have folders in the toolbar and thus don't notice, but I have 2-3 apart from bookmarks.

I remember a change many versions ago that increased the space between entries in the bookmark menu, and also in the bookmark toolbar folders. That was too much and I found a setting [in config] that could be changed to decrease the space back then. (I haven't looked for that solution now, probably have some doc somewhere, and won't bother searching since this is different. Same with this case; I did some quick initial search but found next to nothing and older. BTW, this is one of the downsides of changes like these and similar; the day you have too move to another OS version, i.e. reinstall everything you also have to keep documentation of all these little changes, apart from all the other things you'll have to export or save.)
